My mix tape will be one file, because I plan to mix and do my crossfades, then mix the whole thing down into one mp3 to stream.

hmmm Hmm... I don't see why not. Should be fine. Where would you post the mp3?

BeanPod or wherever I can.

hmmm Any suggestions on alternative sites, folk?

I must say, I was able to play my own mix in the correct order on 8tracks repeatedly. I don't understand the problem. Could it be that's true only of one's own mixtape, and all others are scrambled on repeated listenings? confuse

i believe when they changed the online streaming royalty rates a while back. There are copyright issues unless you have a certain # of songs between artists, you can't have too many songs by the same artists in a row, etc. . It has to be really random. I dealt w/ this crap when I was doing my online new wave radio station, which was fun to do but once they raised the royalty rates I had to quit.

so i honestly don't know of any legit site where you can post the tracks and allow them to stay static and play in order, but perhaps i'm totally wrong, and hopefully i am cool

Hey, Ernest, what's this BeanPod about? Is it easy to use? Free? Allows properly sequenced playback?

Looks OK for those of us with editing software. For those of us who have no way of mixing the songs into a single track, though, we'll have to keep brainstorming.

Not hard. Get a CD-RW (something you can reuse). Burn an audio CD of your songs in the order you want.

When it's done, reinsert the CD, and using iTunes, highlight all the tracks, then chose Advanced, Join Tracks. It'll group all the tracks together. Rip the CD into an mp3, and voila.....all songs are in one track/file.

For those of us who require the listening in the exact order it is assembled, there should be another choice for hosting.

will beanpod work, I don't know never used it.

8tracks always worked for me. If I needed to listen to a mix more than once, I'd just quit the browser and log back in again to hear the mix in order a second time.

Me too. I have zero clue lol Although my mix was unpublishable because it all showed album "supa" but I edited the description and now it's working. This mixing the songs crap is ridiculous though. rolleyes
