Hilton: 'Michael Jackson's Kids Are 'Wonderful'

November 2009

Five months after their father's death, Michael Jackson's three children are thriving in their grandmother's care, longtime family friend Kathy Hilton tells People magazine.

Paris, 11, Prince 12, and Blanket, 7 are "wonderful, their grandmother is incredible and ... they could not be in better hands," Hilton said Tuesday at the launch of daughter Paris's beauty line at the Thompson Hotel Rooftop in Beverly Hills.

"I believe they are being home-schooled, which I think is appropriate for this year," adds Hilton, 50, who has known the family since she was 13. "They're getting along and they have an incredible family. They really are, I promise
you."

Chandler Suicide Highlights Media Bias Against Jackson
by Charles Thomson

When it emerged yesterday that two weeks go Evan Chandler, father of Jordan Chandler, shot himself in the head, few tears were shed despite the media's best efforts to eulogise him.

Most media outlets are touting Chandler as 'the father of the boy who accused Jackson of child molestation'. Wrong. Chandler was the father who accused Jackson of molesting his son.

The initial allegations against Jackson were made not by Jordan Chandler but by his father Evan, in spite of Jordan's insistence that Jackson never touched him inappropriately, a stance that the boy maintained for several months.

Relations between the boy's father and Jackson had soured in early 1993 when Evan asked the popstar to build him a house and Jackson politely declined. A failed screenwriter, Chandler contacted Jackson shortly afterwards and asked him to negotiate three scriptwriting deals on his behalf. If Jackson did not comply, he said, he would accuse him of molesting his son. Jackson didn't comply - and the rest is history.

As revealed by Mary Fischer in her 1994 GQ article 'Was Michael Jackson Framed?' - Jordan Chandler only claimed to have been molested by Jackson after Evan - a dentist by trade - plied him with a mind-bending drug called sodium amytal, which is known to induce false memory syndrome.

Even once Jordan Chandler began to toe his father's line, his testimony was so unconvincing that DA Tom Sneddon took his case to three separate grand juries and none of them allowed him to bring charges against Michael Jackson. Contrary to widely reported myth, Jordan Chandler did not accurately describe Jackson's genitals. Among other inaccuracies, he claimed that Jackson was circumcised while police photographs proved that he was not.

Unsurprisingly, none of this information has made its way into the mainstream media's reportage of Evan Chandler's death. Instead, Chandler's suicide is seen as another opportunity to sling mud at Michael Jackson and perpetuate the same, tired old myths about the 1993 allegations - particularly with regard to the settlement.

News outlets the world over are once more reporting that in 1994 Jackson paid the Chandlers a settlement. This is total fiction.

Court documents from the time state clearly that Jackson's insurance carrier "negotiated and paid the settlement over the protests of Mr Jackson and his personal legal counsel."

Jackson didn't even agree with the settlement, let alone pay it.

Amongst the publications that rehashed this age old nonsense was The Sun, to which I often contribute as a Michael Jackson expert. I was contacted yesterday and asked to provide information about Evan Chandler and the 1993 allegations, which I did. However, none of my information was used - most likely because it reflected too well on Jackson. Myths that imply Jackson's guilt are evidently more important than truths which exonerate him.

Noticing that The Sun's article on Chandler's suicide contained several factual inaccuracies (most promintently that Jordan initiated the claims of molestation and that Jackson paid the family a settlement) I contacted two members of staff at the newspaper - my usual contact and the journalist who wrote the article. Neither email was replied and the article was not changed.

Elsewhere, The Mirror ranked several places higher on the adbsurdity scale as it attempted to portray Chandler as a martyr of some kind. 'Michael Jackson sex case dad Evan Chandler wanted justice but ended up destroyed', read the headline.

Justice?

If Evan Chandler had wanted justice, why did he contact Jackson and ask for a three-movie script deal before he went to the police? If he wanted justice, why did he accept a settlement from Jackson's insurance carrier?

Indeed, the settlement included a clause which stated that accepting the payment in lieu of a civil trial would not affect the family's ability to testify in a criminal case. So if Evan Chandler wanted justice, why didn't he allow the police to press ahead with their investigation?

The headline, along with much of the article, is nonsense.

Having taken Jackson's insurance carrier for just under $15million (not the $20million usually alluded to by the press), in 1996 Evan Chandler tried to sue Jackson for a further $60million after claiming that the star's album HIStory was a breach of the settlement's confidentiality clause. In addition to trying to sue Jackson, Chandler requested that the court allow him to produce a rebuttal album called EVANstory.

Yes, really.

So the man who The Mirror claims only 'wanted justice' thought that the best course of action after the initial media storm died down would be to release an album of music about the supposed abuse of his pre-pubescent son.

The Mirror alluded to the fact that relations between Jordan and his parents were strained after 1993, but laid the blame at Jackson's door, claiming that the trauma of the case had driven them apart.

In actuality, Jordan Chandler went to court when he was 16 and gained legal emancipation from both of his parents. When called to appear at Jackson's 2005 trial, he refused to testify against his former friend. Had he taken the stand, Jackson's legal team had a number of witnesses who were prepared to testify that Jordan - who now lives in Long Island under an assumed name - had told them in recent years that he hated his parents for what they made him say in 1993, and that Michael Jackson had never touched him.

The evidence surrounding the 1993 allegations overwhelmingly supports Michael Jackson's innocence. It is for this reason that during the lengthy investigation, which continued for many months before Jackson's insurance carrier negotiated a settlement, Michael Jackson was never arrested and he was never charged with any crime.

The evidence overwhelmingly suggests that Evan Chandler masterminded the allegations as a money making scheme, believing it would help him to achieve his dream of working in Hollywood. Tape recorded telephone conversations heard him dismiss the boy's wellbeing as 'irrelevant' and claim that he was out to take Jackson for all he was worth. (Click here for Mary Fischer's GQ article, which contains transcripts of the telephone calls.)

Mary Fischer's evidence shows that as well as falsifying the sexual abuse of his own son in an elaborate extortion plot, when Jordan refused to play along Evan plied him with mind-altering drugs in a bid to trick him into believing that he was molested.

But even drugging a child as part of an extortion plot wasn't Evan Chandler's lowest point. That came when he petitioned the court to allow him to release an album of music about the supposed sexual abuse of his own son.

If Evan Chandler wanted justice, he got it two weeks ago.

As for the media, this latest incident cements once more the industry's almost total unwillingness to report fairly or accurately on Michael Jackson, particularly on the bogus allegations of sexual abuse that were levelled against him. None of the aforementioned information and evidence was included in any article about Chandler's suicide that I have read so far, despite the fact that I personally delivered it to at least one newspaper which has repeatedly paid me as a Jackson expert on other stories.

Exculpatory facts are overlooked in favour of salacious myths. A black humanitarian is tarred as a paedophile and his white extortionist is painted as a martyr.

As for Jordan Chandler, maybe with his father gone he will find the courage to do the honourable thing. Perhaps he will surface somewhere and tell the world what he's been telling his friends for over a decade now - that Michael Jackson never laid a finger on him. Until then, I suspect he will live with the same torment that it seems eventually claimed his father, suspiciously soon after the demise of the biggest victim in all of this; Michael Jackson.

It's a damn shame. A tragedy even. confused

Janet Jackson: Michael Was 'In Denial' About Drug Abuse
November 18

Janet Jackson says she recognized her brother Michael's drug problem, and tried to help him, but that he rebuffed those attempts to intervene.

"You can't make 'em drink the water," Jackson told ABC News in an interview airing Wednesday. When asked if her brother was in denial about his addiction, she replied, "Possibly."

"I wish he could answer this question for you and not me," she told ABC's Robin Roberts. "I felt that he was in denial."

She blames Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal physician, for his death June 25.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles are weighing charges against Murray, who told police he administered a powerful anesthetic to the singer shortly before he died.

During the interview, the 43-year-old Janet Jackson spoke of her upcoming diet book, "True You," which chronicles her lifelong struggle to control her weight.

She has gained some mastery over her self-image, she said, after years of "just picking yourself apart all the time because you're so used to being kind of picked apart."

She said she hasn't seen "This Is It," the new documentary film spotlighting her late brother as he prepared for the concert tour that would've taken place last summer.

"I definitely won't, not right now," she said. "I don't know if I will ever see it."

"he provided the soundtrack to our childhoods"- Michael didn't provide the soundtrack to my childhood. Speak for yourself. I grew up thinking the man was a noseless racist paedophile, OK?

" why are people saying he had NO drugs in his system when he died? the man died from an overdose."- According to the autopsy report, Michael Jackson's organs and body, in general, were in perfect conditions. There wasn't evidence of drug abuse from the past. In fact, there wasn't evidence of other drugs' use other than Propofol and associated anesthetics. Propofol isn't an addictive drug. It does NOT make one dependent. Besides, Michael used it because he had a really serious insomnia problem and needed to rest. That doesn't mean, however, that he was a drug-addict.

I'm not making excuses for anything. I don't think Michael was God. I'm just defending the man with facts. Have you even read the guy's autopsy report? READ IT. It's clear that he was not a drug addict. I'm using facts! Other than accusing me of worshipping MJ....do you have any argument? Do you even know the facts? You only have one argument to contradict what I'm saying; "You think MJ was a God".

But hey...I won't defend the man for long. I'm running out of patience until I goive him the boot. Perhaps some things will get clearer.

How could he be a drug addict if only Propofol and associated anesthetics were found in his body (THESE DRUGS AREN'T EVEN ADDICTIVE)?

Raymone Bay, who is suing Michael, stated that he WAS NOT a drug addict.
Dr. Ionache, Michael's doctor during the HIStory tour, claimed he WAS NOT a drug addict.

yep, he did. a lot of so-called media have reported about this "song", duck butter, but they take the story at face value, never questioning why a) a so-called dentist would sue a record label to make them release his album (after all he wasn't a musician) and b) why any loving father would make a record like this in the first place. does any of this sound like the behavior of a rational or decent human being? if they want to report about mj's behavior, fine, but i think the right thing to do would be to put the entire story out there. i think if mark david chapman had taked his life the other day, you'd still be seeing articles about it in the newspaper, and lord knows they would not be sympathetic.

True, he was dying and he may have committed suicide because he didn't want a prolonged illnes which was going to lead to death anyway. However, he has been ill for a very long time, way before MJ died. Why committe suicide after the death of MJ in such a drastic fashion? It beggars the question.

true, it does. i think about his searing hate for mj on that taped call - 'if i don't get what i want, they'll be destroyed forever...if i go through with this, i win big time...he is not going to believe what is going to happen to him...he will never sell another record.'

now flashforward all these years. while he could take some 'comfort' in the fact that mj continued to struggle the rest of his life, a lot of it as a result of what he started, he couldn't have been happy with the way the rest of it all turned out.

Los Angeles Looking to Recoup From Michael Jackson Memorial
by Linda Hobbs
November 19, 2009

The president of LA Live challenged City Attorney Carmen Trutanich on Thursday to either file criminal charges over the Michael Jackson memorial service or apologize for hinting the company may have broken the law.

"Prove it or drop it," AEG President Tim Leiweke said during an interview. "We can't resolve this until he declares we have done nothing wrong or apologizes - I'll take either.

"But he has been going around for five months defaming me and our company and we did nothing wrong."

Leiweke's comments were the latest salvo fired in the high-profile dispute with Trutanich, who wants Anschutz Entertainment Group to reimburse the city for security costs - now estimated at $3.2 million - related to Jackson's July 7 memorial service at Staples Center.

Shortly after taking office, Trutanich told the City Council he not only wanted to recover the city's costs but also was looking into potential criminal or civil violations. He declined to say what, or who, those violations might involve.

As their dispute escalated, Leiweke called Trutanich a "bully" after the city attorney sought more than $6 million from AEG for the memorial service. And the City Council had to intervene after Trutanich threatened to arrest AEG executives or city building inspectors if they issued sign permits for a movie theater at LA Live.

Trutanich did not return telephone calls Thursday. His top deputy, however, said he could not comment.

true, it does. i think about his searing hate for mj on that taped call - 'if i don't get what i want, they'll be destroyed forever...if i go through with this, i win big time...he is not going to believe what is going to happen to him...he will never sell another record.'

now flashforward all these years. while he could take some 'comfort' in the fact that mj continued to struggle the rest of his life, a lot of it as a result of what he started, he couldn't have been happy with the way the rest of it all turned out.

If the "abuser" of my child dropped down dead, I would think it is time to rejoice not to blow your brains out not long after he died. It would even motivate me to try and get better, no matter how ill I was. Unless it wasn't a suicide, afterall, I think even the most ardent chandler supporters will find such actions very baffaling.

How could he be a drug addict if only Propofol and associated anesthetics were found in his body (THESE DRUGS AREN'T EVEN ADDICTIVE)?

Raymone Bay, who is suing Michael, stated that he WAS NOT a drug addict.
Dr. Ionache, Michael's doctor during the HIStory tour, claimed he WAS NOT a drug addict.

didnt michael himself say he went into rehab because he was addicted to pain pills? it dont matter how long ago it was the man was an addict and addicts cannot go from one drug to another without becoming addicted, thats why you hear people refer to themselves as recovering drug addicts. can you please stop trying to convince yourself that it was normal for this man to have an iv drip in his bedroom using propofol to put him to sleep, who does that?conrad murrey was hired to feed michael's addiction and his greedy ass was stupid enough to do it. also i dont care if you grew up thinking he was a molester or whatever (this tells your age so i kinda understand your logic a lil more now), but he was my childhood idol and even though over the last couple decades i grew weary of him i was hurt when he died and i still love him as an artist, but acting like there was nothing wrong with him and now blaming his sister for speaking her true feelings of the situation is ridiculous.

Here's what happened in Amazon.com and iTunes after the interview with Janet:

Number Ones (Janet Jackson)- Up
This Is It (Michael Jackson)- Down

There's a reason as to why Michael prefered having Diana Ross raising his kids to having his own siblings doing so.

He went to rehab in '93, after being accused of paedophilia. He was addicted to Xanax and Vallium.

Fact 1: Read Michael's autopsy report: he was perfectly healthy.
Fact 2: Read Michael's autopsy report: his organs including his liver were in perfect conditions.
Fact 3: Read Michael's autopsy report: there were no signs of past drug addiction.
Fact 4: Read Michael's autopsy report: the only drugs found were the ones that killed him. There weren't other drugs in his system.
Fact 5: Read Michael's autopsy report: the drugs found in his body- the ones that killed him- weren't addictive. They don't make one dependent on them, which means it's impossible for Michael to have been addicted to them.
Fact 6: Michael had a really serious insomnia problem which is why he took propofol and associated anesthesics. He wantd to sleep, not to get high.
Fact 7: Propofol acts for 3/4 minutes. It puts one to sleep. It isn't addictive and one has no pleasure in taking it.

With that said: Michael wasn't a drug addict. Facts hurt?

Yeah MJ had drug problems and he DID die of a drug overdose. An intentional one but an overdose nonetheless.

They really are, I promise
you."

Who gives a fuck what that trick thinks??? She need to keep her fame whore daughters out the media. hmph!

Damn, Desiree, tell 'em how you really feel! lol

Kathy Hilton has been a friend for years (They grew up together) and she hasn't really been out there like some other friends have, so I give her props

It's not like she was the Kardashians who were at the funeral and the only connection I think they had was Kim and Kourtney were fuckin' 2 of Michael's nephews back in the day lol

I think we all know and acknowledge Mike had problems with medications although it's well known, he was taking some for legitimate reasons. I think it's safe to say, we'll probably never know what was really going on in his life when he passed so instead of speculating and talking about the drugs and other shit, I think it would be best to focus on why we cared about him in the first place because IMO, the good far outweighs the bad

you do realize that every addiction is not for the purpose of getting high dont you? addiction means you come to depend on a certain thing and if a person needs to be put under with propofol in order to sleep at nite THAT IS AN ADDICTION, and by the way when michael was under the influence of propofol he was not sleep, you keep saying his autopsy reports the only drugs found were the ones that killed him, WHO CARES WHAT KINDA DRUGS THEY WERE BOTTOM LINE HE DIED FROM A DRUG OVERDOSE. janet never said what kinda drugs she believed he was addicted to she just knew something wasnt right, shit i knew something wasnt right with him and i never met him in my life. im curious about your expertise on propofol because before mj died i never heard of it and from the way medical experts were shocked about this beig administered in a man's home i dont think there have been many cases of people using this stuff 'to go to sleep'.step out of the lil fantasy world mj tried so hard to create and deal with reality.
