I want new material. People got their hopes up with that Access Hollywood clip from 2006 when MJ was in Ireland with will.i.am. Everyone though "Ok, give it a year" and then Raymone Baine said something about a single and video being out by the end of 2007, and that didn't happen. Then 2008. Then 2009... and now nothing. We've gotten a handful of gems since he passed, but I really want to hear some stuff from post-HIStory onwards, especially anything he did after Invincible.

What did you think of "Xscape," "One More Chance," "The Way You Love Me," "Beautiful Girl," and "We've Had Enough?" Individual responses please. As far as I know these were are either during the Invincible recording sessions or post Invincible. I'd love to hear your thoughts on those since they were recorded during Michael's later years. (Creepy and tragic to think that now given a year ago, I thought it was the beginning of great things to come..)

Random Thought:

I remember seeing MJ on TV at James Brown's funeral and I felt a sense of pride and comfort knowing my hero was there, for his hero. It felt only fitting that he got a chance to speak. It made the sadness of that moment seem okay, because he was there.

I think that is what killed me about his public memorial, and even the brief footage the public was allowed to watched on CNN of his burial, was that, he wasn't there anymore.

The world in general, and especially the world of music, dance, entertainment and childhood heroes, got a whole lot shittier on June 25th, 2009. Miss you MJ. sad

STOP BLAMING THE JACKSONS FAMILY FOR MICHAEL'S FINACIAL PROBLEMS-
He created his own problems! Remember that riduculous shopping spree in the Martin Bashir interview -1 million dollars for those ugly urns. The entire family seems to be irresponsible with money including Michael!

What Happened to the Fortune Michael Jackson Made?
New York Time- May 2006

Michael never had any concept of fiscal responsibility, or logical fiscal responsibility. He was an individual that had been overindulged by those that represented him or worked for him for all of his life," said Alvin Malnik, a former financial adviser to Mr. Jackson and a former lawyer for Meyer Lansky, the late mob kingpin. "There was no planning in terms of allocations of how much he should spend. As a businessman, you can forecast your spending for the next six months to a year. For Michael, it was whatever he wanted at the time he wanted.

Millions of dollars annually were spent on plane charters, purchases of antiques and paintings," Mr. Malnik continued. "If you want to take a trip to London, that's one thing. If you want to continue that trip and have your entourage of 15 or 20 people go with you, it gets expensive."

Others close to Mr. Jackson say that the performer's finances have not deteriorated simply because he is a big spender. They say that until the early 1990's, he paid relatively close attention to his accounting and kept an eye on the cash that flowed through his business and creative ventures. After that, they say, Mr. Jackson became overly enamored of something that ensnares wealthy people of all stripes: bad advice.

"Some people can go to a person like Michael and say, 'Listen, this is out of hand.' Other people would much rather say, 'Whatever you want,' and they don't care," said Frank Dileo, who was Mr. Jackson's manager from 1984 to 1989. "I think after me, there were a lot of people that didn't care. All they were interested in was what they were getting. And they killed the golden goose."

No one's blaming the family for Mike's problems, the family should've been on their A-game, chill out. The family's already benefiting thanks to Katherine getting 40% so it technically goes to the family.

Does anyone have a list of when the videos from Thriller and Bad albums were filmed? I know Michael was working on the Thriller video during the Motown 25 era, and I know the Bad video was filmed in 1986, but when was "Leave Me Alone" and "Smooth Criminal" filmed?

Bad was done in December '86
Smooth Criminal- May 1987
The Way You Make Me Feel- between June-October 1987
Leave Me Alone- between June-October 1987 (filmed around 3 weeks after The Way You Make Me Feel was filmed)
Dirty Diana-either March 1988
Another Part Of Me- June 1988
Speed Demon and Come Together were done probably December 1987- January 1988, maybe later

Still, that doesn't mean they don't love him. It means that they are selfish bastards, not that they don't love Michael.

you are entirely too deep up in mj's finances. bottom line is it was michael's money and his family, he know them a hell of alot better than you or me, he was aware of the living situation at hayvenhurst, he knows how many people his mom looks after AND HE STILL LEFT HER 40% OF HIS ESTATE, which tells me he didnt have as big a problem with his own family receiving money from his estate as you and most of the other nosey fans seem to have..

He didn't leave her 40% of the estate. He left her 40% of the estate, TEMPORARILY. When the kids turn 18, she will stop receiving the money. She can't re-will that money, because it is just an allowance she gets from the estate. The money is meant to be used with the kids, and, when she passes away, the kids will inherit 80% of the estate. KATHERINE DID NOT INHERIT MONEY.

There are some who think Elvis and Tupac are still alive. You knew this nonsense was coming when Michael passed.

Would be a huge publicity stunt.

It's not totally impossible. the record companies, important media people could all be insiders and knowing the truth.

MJ came to them and said: Listen, last night I couldn't sleep because GOD was channeling this magical idea through me.
He showed me a way to make both, you and me, happy.

I'm playing the dead superstar and they'll no longer follow me around. I coul hide somwhere, wearing masks all day and doing water balloon fights.

And you could do BIG money with my "death".

More than in 1983 and 1984, dude."

---- What? Are you wacko, Jacko? That's just... just WEIRD. Even for YOUR standards.

MJ: Oh no. You're being ignorant. God sent me this idea. This plan is magical.
[Edited 11/11/09 15:18pm]

whats even more disturbing about the death is that the funeral was filmed in 2 different places.
Don't ask me why! but it was done in 2 completely different places.
watch the videos and see for yourself. Probably to throw off the press I guess.

They even used the same "whale black and white" light blimp during the funeral high in the sky, that is present during the greenscreen filming that was done.

Its not only the Gilda movie thats disturbing, there is footage of another few more movies being used in the Smooth Criminal footage which all belong to Sony pictures.

Below is a list of the movies used during the Smooth Criminal greenscreen insertion. All are owned by Columbia (Sony) Pictures.

Suddenly Last Summer

Tokyo Joe

His Girl Friday

It's a Lonely Place

Dead Reckoning

The Whole Town Is Talking

Gilda

the plot of "The Whole Town is Talking" is about a man who has a double or a doppelganger.

Make of it what you will, but if was a coincidence these movies were chosen, then it was one hell of a coincidence!
lol!

Thanks! I asked because I remember hearing about how Moonwalker was supposed to be released in 1987 to coincide with the start of his Bad tour, but was pushed to 1988. So I wasnt sure if certain videos (Dirty Diana, Speed Demon) was filmed in 87 or 88

I thought "Xscape" was okay. Middle of the road. Not a horrible track but far from his best. "Beautiful Girl" is pretty boring to me. "We've Had Enough" is pretty epic, a real solid track. "The Way You Love Me" is solid. I like the pulsing keys and the little voice he does at the end. "One More Chance" is another solid R&B track and I like a couple of the remixes as well.

I'm not sure if anything that has leaked or was released post-Invincible has been as good as the best tracks on Invincible. Some of the older stuff that has come out like On The Line, Serious Effect and For All Time are really great. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008 was really good as well.

But none of it can compare to an honest to goodness new album though.
