Sounds like a fair deal to me.

We're talking hindsight here. What if Thriller wasn't this global smash? What if it was a moderately successful R&B album? What if it sold about 10 million copies worldwide to date? Maybe a few more or a few less?

According to Landis, Vincent Price was only paid 7000 bucks for Thriller, if thats true, kinda sad.

Landis claimed he begged Mike to help/get more money for Vincent.

$7k from 3 or 4 sentences.....what's sad about that?

not to mention that 7k was a lot back then ..

Actually Vincent Price was given a choice. He was told that he could have cash for his vocals or be given a small percentage of the album sales. He choose the cash.

Interesting.

I'm thinking about that too

I mean, it debuted at #11, I bet some people saw that and said "Well, told ya so..." lol

this was from the HD broadcast this summer. RTL rebroadcasted it but in HD quality cool

a TV channel in Japan reaired the 30th Anniversary show in HD

yet, no one aired The Making of Thriller or any of the oldschool TV specials from the 80s and 90s in HD pout

Finally some footage I don't think I've seen before.

I am not on my best computer so the video stutters or stop/starts. Normally this gets on my nerves but I found myself watching the entire performance this way because no matter what Michael was doing or what position he was in, his form is so strong, his body so fluid that each still moment looked like it could be a photograph. Time and time again I saw just how perfected the moves and poses were. It also underscored how much I would look forward to him reminding me of his greatness. His absence was an opportunity to rediscover and to be in wonder all over again.

Since seeing the movie I can't stop singing several songs and thinking of specific moments of the rehearsals.

What I love about MJ fans is that we can be really nitpicky lol If something is in poor quality, we'll work on getting it in better quality or we'll try to improve on it (ala the Yokohama show, the Tokyo '87 show, and the Dallas '84 show)

I've had this concert for years on VHS but it was a terrible rip and after watching it so much, I decided I would never watch the Munich '97 show ever again

When it was reaired in Germany in HD, DJ Oxygene took the transfer (that was already phenomenal) and improved on it more, which you see on the clip. It's like a new experience watching it and I love the concert again lol

When I get a DVD burner, I'm gonna put this and his version of the Yokohama '87 concert on DVD to watch on my flat screen cool

He did a great job. It felt like I was watching something much more recent. If more of his stuff was in HD I'd probably watch a lot more than I have. It's really a shame that there isn't official concert footage or even a collection of live performances in HD.

Does anyone notice that one lady with the short blond hair and glasses? I swear I've seen her in so many MJ videos .. I've seen her in BOTDF clips, 1984 Billie Jean Victory tour clips, and even at the MSG 30th Anniversary special

Thank you for posting this mimi07, somewhere hanging with Walt Disney and James Brown, Michael is watching this and smiling ear to ear. Thank you so much once again for sharing this! Chris Tucker is funny and was one of the few people to not turn his back on Michael during his lifetime. Thank you Chris for the millions of laughs, and for being good to your friend.

There's a shot of her during a Victory Tour clip. She hasn't aged AT ALL! eek lol

There's a couple who I spot watching certain concerts. Very familiar faces, matter of fact, I kinda know one of them.... lol

Now that I've watched it on a better comp, that whole row where doing the cabbage patch--all the same faces. lol My friend's very good friend is in the front as well. I won't point him out though but I met him and it was weird. They always seemed suprised that an American has traveled to see MJ and how dare you want to be in front row! mad lol All the more why I wish he could have started the shows in the U.S. neutral

How is there high def HIStory tour footage on YouTube yet all the bootleg copies for sale on DVD are such shitty quality? Where am I not shopping for my unofficial bootleg DVDs that I should be? LOL Someone orgnote me about this ASAP lol

Another thing, has anyone seen the introduction to the HIStory tour lately?
It reminded me a lot of something that would have fit right in on THIS IS IT with the 3d-like effects and the whole space theme. Michael was totally ahead of his time on so many levels. Damn, I miss him more, the more I think about his genius as a performer and BEYOND.

Apparently, the concerts were shot in High Def nod

The 30th Anniversary Celebration was also shot in HD and was shown in Japan a couple of months ago

Most things that are professionally filmed is high-def. Movies, TV Shows, etc... the masters are usually brilliant quality. The problem is unless someone has access to the masters or it's aired in HD somewhere, there is no HD version. Most of the DVD's I would guess are TV airings or screeners of some sort.

I wish VH1 would air the 30th Anniversary show again. They used to show the full show all the time, but I haven't seen it on TV in a few years now.
