THE JACKSONS THRIVE

The show must go on!

Michael Jackson's siblings are reuniting to take over their beloved brother's show, using 100 hours of the pop king's rehearsal-video footage as the show-stopper centerpiece to their live tribute performances.

THE POST'S ONGOING JACKO COVERAGE

Sisters Janet and La Toya, who were never part of the Jackson 5 kid band, said they would probably join the family act on July 13, the date when the Gloved One would have opened his wildly anticipated "This Is It" concert series at London's O2 arena.

"We might do the 13th or a date in August with Jan and Toya," said a family member. "We may rehearse after the funeral. It'll be good and we'll do it right for Michael."

The sibling rivals -- who also include Tito, Jermaine, Jackie and Marlon -- are putting aside their differences and are working on the choreography to back up songs and dance numbers Michael already worked on.

If all goes well, the Jacksons are looking to fill at least five of the 50 gigs their superstar brother was scheduled to perform on his sold-out comeback series.

They are even looking at a world tour after playing at the O2 arena, a family source said.

With the first concert date looming and with Jackson's memorial-service extravaganza on Tuesday, the famous siblings are racing the clock.

"They're working on keeping the tour going," said another family source.

Patriarch Joe Jackson, who has had patchy relationships with his kids and was cut out of Michael's will, was reportedly the one who came up with the idea.

Tito Jackson, 55, who played guitar and sang as a member of the Jackson 5, was already installing a customized sound studio at his home in Calabasas, Calif., but is now building a video-editing suite.

He plans to view the hours of Michael's performance videotape shot at LA's Staples Center by concert promoters AEG Live to go along with the dance routines, sets and costumes created for the show.

"Michael would have wanted the show to go on and that's what we're doing. We are not giving up on Michael because Michael would not give up on his fans," a family source said.

Tito has also been making midnight runs to his late brother's home in LA, loading up a U-Haul van filled with memorabilia and extra sound equipment to use in his home-studio setup, sources said.

"Tito used to park his old Bentley in there. Now it's outside on the curb because the garage is so jammed," a neighbor said.

Jackson matriarch Katherine, who was named as guardian of Michael's three kids, gave the OK for her children to divvy up the treasure trove of Michael's personal possessions, according to a family source.

AEG Live just may make a killing out of its deal instead of having to pony up $85 million in ticket refunds.

Maybe I'm too crass but this makes me sick. The Jacksons have always wanted to reunite, they've been begging Michael to do it for years. This isn't just a tribute, they're definitely fulfilling their own "need" to be onstage too. I think it's kinda gross. They know damn well nobody wants to see them without Michael, but it's kinda guilting the fans into seeing them anyway b/c it's for Michael & in his honor. neutral

Cover up rumors are swirling, and friends of Michael are saying, that because Michael loved pain pills and heavy drugs, those close to him did a last-minute death-scene cleanup- by disposing of drugs and other evidence of his decadent lifestyle. Friends are also saying Michael was 105 pounds, he was emaciated. Friends are saying everyone around him knew he was in no shape to go back to work.

It's also being said Michael convinced himself he needed to lose even more weight to keep up with the intense dance routines.

That would be amazing. Even if the motivation behind it is money, it's a win/win situation.

it is weird that it took a full 30 min to call paramedics, I wondered if the doc was stashing stuff during that time.

& unless he was wearing padding underneath his clothing in the rehearsal footage, there's no way he weighed 105...

I don't believe that, and Conrad Murray knows more about what happened that he's letting us know.

Him kind of hiding away, shows something happened that wasn't supposed to happen.

not sure what was taking place before the call but I don't buy the doctor not calling 911 on the cell phone he had because he didn't know the address... they can figure that stuff out BUT CALL. fans and press knew where the house was so i'm sure if you told them it was Mike's rented house they'd have a pretty good idea of where to go.

any weight under 120lbs(the weight listed on his mug shot) doesn't sound so far-fetched to me.

That is what Dr. Samuel Jacobson, a critical care expert and lung specialist in Boca Raton, FL said. That he was in the anorexia weight zone. They usually die from cardiac heart failure.

Quincy Jones mystified me with that bitter sounding rant the other day. I couldn't understand where it came from. Hollywood people are usually very phoney about everything and that has included my impressions of quincy over the years. He's far from a bad person, just really out of touch, like the rest. Maybe he was angry at michael as many of us are, for destroying himself. Maybe he is gloating over a prodigy whom he lost control over. Most of my mentors have turned on me after I outgrew them so I've been through that several times and it's terrible. The bitterness seems to never go away from them. All you can do is walk away. My opinion is, people always show their true colors and usually that comes when the pressure hits. His outlandish statements about the white women when even Tupac accussed him of "sticking his dick in a white woman" (just to point out he should understand how it feels to be accussed like that) is absurd.

adonna credits her "normal childhood" for not falling victim to superstardom like Michael Jackson -- insisting having such a credible career so young was "unearthly."

The Material Girl told the world of her grief after hearing of the "Thriller" hitmaker's death last week, confessing to fans that she couldn't stop crying in the hours following his passing.

The tragic demise of her most famous contemporary came as an extra shock as she was putting plans in motion to make a special appearance at Jackson's London comeback gigs.

But the star will never have the chance to perform with Jackson -- admitting it is a devastating blow as she has always looked up to him.

She tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I am so terribly sad about Michael Jackson's death. I don't know what artist wasn't inspired by him.

"To be able to do what he did at such an early age was unearthly; everybody grew up in awe of him."

Madonna looks back on her short-lived friendship with Jackson in the early 90s with fondness -- insisting she loved to "pick his brains" about his musical talents.

She explains, "To work with him and become friends and hang out with him was exciting for me. I used to love picking his brains about musical stuff."

And Madonna recognizes that she became a completely different person to Jackson despite similarities in their phenomenal success -- blaming his tireless entertaining schedule when he was just a child.

She adds, "Obviously, we have very different personalities -- he was a lot more shy than I am. That's because I was allowed to have a normal childhood and he wasn't, so there was a vulnerable side to him that made you want to take care of him and protect him."

However, Madonna insists she will always remember both sides of Jackson -- admitting that the star completely changed when he stepped off stage.

She says, "He was a real paradox, one of the world's greatest performers and obviously very confident on stage, but in real life he was shy and you really felt for him."

Madonna will pay tribute to Jackson by involving a Jackson lookalike in her Sticky & Sweet tour when it returns to London's O2 Arena on Saturday.
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Still hard to believe MJ is gone. I was so disgusted when I saw a pic in a supermarket from "OK" magazine of MJ on a stretcher deceased. Unbelievable. That pic was also in local newspapers. I'll be happy when he is finally laid to rest, and hopefully his family will find peace in all of this.

This weekend I was at a childhood friend's birthday celebration, and the DJ played so many MJ songs through the night. We were all so happy to dance to his music and reflect about the past ad the good old times, when MJ first started out, and how we would play his records over and over, and play in the backyard singing MJ songs. Ever since his death, all I've been hearing is MJ music being played everywhere. It's unbelievable how much he was loved.

MJ will truly be missed but his music will always live on.

It was bound to happen anyway, when your life has already been scrutinized, even fiction will sound better than reality, not saying that was the case for Jackson.
