that costume was vintage FAIL! disbelief

at first i was all, why the hell is bouncey singing ave maria in a bathing suit??? and then the battlestar galactica dancers came twirling on stage and applied her clam skirt and i was all like "oh, she was wearing a swimsuit because the costume gets even UGLIER, of course!" and oh my GOD, what is going on with her yams? she really wasn't selling it upstairs, which wasn't good because as soon as they put that my little pony skirt on her, property values were dropping rapidly downstairs too. poor bouncey. at least she sounded good. shrug

- i was waiting for beyonce to sing halo.
i really thought that would have
been appropiate for michael.
the dress was pretty/weird and im still
not getting the whole drift of her performance
but whatever.

- to me(i know ill get stoned) maxwell
was AIGHT.
ive seen and heard him do so much better.
he messed up the words and it sounded like
he was holding back for some reason.

- even though jamie made a fool
out of himself,he made me laugh
and thats something i appreciate
after crying for so long.

- lil wayne always was a fool and will continue
to be a fool.
those poor little girls.
i thought it was a fathers worst nightmare
that his daughter becomes a stripper.
it looks like hes training her now.

- drake yawn he is not cute and i think
many girls think he is because hes lightskinned.
so the fuck what? hes still not cute.
his rapping? idk,i couldnt get pass the preteens.

- i was surprised chris didnt show up
but to be honest,i think he would have a 50/50
chance of getting booed.

- the show was a mess but i dont see
what complaining about it will do.
now,if they mess up the tribute...we riot! lol

-janet made me bawl.i love the jacksons.
...then he turned to me and said "I dare you".

Seriously…What The Fuck BET?!

June 29, 2009 by Lee

First off lets start off with this piece.

Really BET? Not only was it random but the show was also was supposed to be in dedication to Michael Jackson. Why she look like she about to swim in a pulpit? No then it gets worst, she throws on a tutu and some bootleg ‘The Nutcracker‘ tune comes on. See the only reason why I’m into this right now is because of Michael Jackson. So being that BET is BLACK Entertainment [but is owned by a bunch of white folks] I was assuming that they was gone make it worth watching [I haven't watched BET since the 90's]. They failed, HORRIBLY! It looked rushed. Debra Lee or whatever her name is says that they were dedicating the whole show to Michael Jackson…I wish they hadn’t. They need to call a do-over.

The only people who dedicated to Michael Jackson was Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx and Ciara. Three performers! That was basically done in under 13-15 minutes. How long is BET Award ceremonies? A good 3 hours and a half right? Its not just the person but its the principal. Don’t get your silly looking ass on television and tell people that bold-face ass lie. If you wanted more people to tune in to BET then you should of did what you said you were going to do. I bet now there are more people who don’t like BET more than before. I mean all it show is pure niggery type shit. BET is just straight ass…

MTV who in the past wouldn’t even put anyone BLACK on their station would of did a better job than that bullshit BET pulled. I know for a FACT that VH1 would of did a good damn job. Their brainstorming was interrupted by a few rays of sunshine.

They basically did the award show as promised and people just went up on stage, got their award and just said thanks to Michael Jackson instead of their occasional “I want to thank God“. This was their last time to try and and redeem themselves and what do they do? They fuck it up once again.

You mind as well say that whole show was dedicated to Don Cornelius and the O’Jays.

The expectancy of the media quality they broadcast on their show isn’t all too great to begin with. They took away all of the educational shit and replaced it with, HotGhettoMess, Devil Date, 106 & Park and whatever else that promotes niggatry.

BET gets their chance to show that black people are more than just gang-bang videos, money, killing, drug dealing, and being a statistic and they just blow it. Blow it all for the sake of some sorry ass performers and their sorry ass awards that they don’t give a shit about.

Yea the excuses about the show already being planned and that he just died, or the fact that the show was truly dedicated to The O’Jays, you can chalk that. The fact that Debra Lee got her funky, silly looking behind on television and said what she said is what matters. It got taken at face value and I was expecting a show dedicated to Michael Jackson. The LEGEND, The KING of POP.

Well I won’t ever waste my time on BET again.

BET = Bullshit Entertainment Television.

Being in Australia we don't get BET, so the only clips I have seen have been on youtube or on the BET site.

Aside from Ne-Yo who I thought handled Lady In My Life (not Lady OF my life like BET have on their site) brilliantly, the shows tribute to Michael Jackson was a curious one.

But on reflection I think BET paid Michael the ULTIMATE honour.

Having all those artists try and not even get close to his performance maybe showed the world just what an amazing performer he was after all. It reminded me, a long time fan, that Michael was and will forever be untouchable as an entertainer.

I went back and watched a little of the end. Lil Wayne's performance
was downright embarrassing. I'm glad that i actually fell asleep
when he was performing because i was sick and watching him perform
would have made me sicker. Now i see what everybody was talking about
with the 10 year olds on stage. eek
I really don't get Lil Wayne's music or his popularity but i don't lose
money or sleep over it.

Not sure if you got my point Timmy. I was saying that in the mess that was the BET Awards - they actually reminded the world that no one comes close to MJ when it comes to performing, as unintentional as it was.

nod I noticed that to, because that was the part that I laughed on. lol I laughed because:

1) The outfit was just totally ridiculous even before the feather-trimmed umbrella minus the handle was attached to her;

2) Two of her fucked up tutu helpers were covered from head to toe in gold aluminum foil. It looked like two C-3POs were fondling her lol ;

and,

3) She had this look on her face that reminded me of someone who was either having a nervous breakdown or high as a Macy's Day character balloon. Seriously, for a moment, she looked like she was trippin on some really good shit.

Even though she sang beautifully, the whole performance just didn't make any sense and was really kinda pointless to me. She could have sang 'Gone Too Soon' or 'You are not alone' and I know she would have delievered those songs amazingly, but she went off on some mind fuck trip and decided to drag everyone along for the ride.

Although I like Jamie Foxx as a comedian, I felt his comments at the start of the show about Michael being a "BLACK" man and him belonging to "US" were un-called for and very separatist and IMO racist. Michael was black yes, but we don't OWN him.

Anyway, I just felt the whole show was bad and not a very good tribute show. I enjoyed Ne-Yo's performance, but all in all I just got the feeling that most of those in attendence don't really understand the importance of MJ's contribution to music. Maybe it's just me but I got the sense that some of the people there were kind of nonchalant and weren't really into the tribute.

Jamie Foxx is such a greasy slease bag...the "Beat It" thing didn't bother me as much as him making reference to his "Boa Constrictor" and actually grabbing it several time. I hate this type of negroidian bofooery. Grossly inappropriate. Why are these current black entertainers so happy to make us all look bad. confused
[Edited 6/29/09 5:43am]

Yeah, I felt that "Boa" joke was inapropriate as well. The whole show as a mockery of MJ's memory.
