Favorite mid-late 80's girl-Janet, Jody, Karyn or Pebbles?

From the mid-late 80's, 4 women really ruled the r&b stations:

Janet Jackson (yes, I know she came out before this, but this was the period when she became a mega star)

Jody Watley (again, I know she was in Shalamar, but she became a massive solo artist during this time)

Karyn White

Pebbles

All of them had a bunch of hits and thrived when r&b transitioned to the New Jack Swing era.

Of course, Janet is the only one who had continued success, as the other 3 stopped having hits by the mid-90's.

Which of these 4 did you all like the best??

Cant say. But I know pebbles is my least fav. Both her first and second albums were kinda average. Never liked "girlfriend", though "giving you the benefit" is good though.

Going with Janet for favourite all time, but for the 80's period, going with Jody all the way, and Karyn comes close.

Janet. Jody's debut is just as good an album as Control in my books, though.

None of them have ever topped Rhythm Nation.

Janet's tour starts September 10th in Vancouver, and I am SO EXCITED!

I actually quite like all four, but Janet is among my top 10 artists, while none of the other ladies, fun as they are, would make my top 100.

Where's Cherelle???

It was Jody for a long time. Then came Janet.

Overall Janet, Jody, (Cherelle,) Karyn. I wouldn't really count Pebbles altho Mercedes Boy is still a favorite.

I actually liked Miki's version better and that's hard to admit.

I'd Rather Be Alone never fails to make me cry

It's a shame Karyn is still not around and doing her interior design stuff, she has one of the best voices of contemporary r&b music.
