Some of you really mislead this album...This is *NOT* a dance album...its the same ole same ole Janet album gussied up in a different dress. Just like the rest of her recent catalog there are way way way too many damn slow songs...they weigh the album down big time.
this album is a tad better then 20YO and Damita Jo...but not by much.

Seems there hasnt been a theme for Janet other than Sex since she broke up with him. It's like "ok Janet what is this album about?" return my arse. I think the first four songs on it are superb. Completely blew me away. I loved Feedback - the catchiest lead-off single she's released in years. But you're right, Ms. Dern-Harper, there are too many ballads and they're pretty dire. I do prefer Discipline to the last two albums, but it's all because of the opening four songs. As for Janet losing her "celebrity" status, I would TOTALLY disagree. Maybe in the public's eye, Janet is not as popular, but in Hollywood circles, she is as big as ever. In the black media, most would consider Janet as apart of Hollywood royalty. In the mainstream media, she is still well respected. Disciplined by men? I wholefully agree. It seems the title was made after the song..however The theme of discipline is only showed on the s&m track, and the s&m clothing... I thought there would be songs about being more in control of your life...but there were none. Enjoy was the last 'positive message'-like song Janet done and it took me back to The Velvet Rope.
