New Annie Lennox single!

Annie's much anticipated album Songs of Mass Destruction is being preceded by the single "Dark Road", which is now available to stream from the BBC2 Radio show! Follow this link and fast foward to about 11:38 on the timer. Edit: Or this higher quality stream!

In an word, sublime! It's a plaintive ballad beginning with an alluring piano melody that gradually builds up steam. It really picks up in the second to last verse before returning to the tempered mood. Her voice is fantastic, as always.

Annie is amazing and SO UNDERRATED. It kills me everytime i hear all these lists of greatest Females vocalists and Annie is never on them, to me this woman is one of the best ever, and in my opinion one of the greatest "soul" singers too.

I love this new song, but I'm a little wary of everything else I've read about this disc. New producer?

But I'm sure I'll love it, because I love about everything she's ever done, especially solo. "Bare" is in my top 5 discs of all time.

Bare is wonderful. A lot of people criticize it, but I think it's perfect!

Great lyrics, still think that 'Bare'was a fantastic soul album, especially the track 'The Hurting Time'.

Annie is really a great soul singer and even Aretha Franklin thought highly of her. Listen to their duet 'Sisters are doing it for themselves' and hear how Annie really is able to hold her own, even while singing with the Queen....respect due!
