But you know the MOST annoying thing about being at forums like that is when they discuss dude's sales. A lot of people were trying to argue their way out of discussing sales for "Thriller" late last year, lol.

Complaining about other Michael Jackson fans is actually one of my favourite past-times with my fan friends. We're so fucking sad, but we can't help it, they piss us off so much.

No doubt this is what we'll all do when we see Prince in August twice. According to some people on KOP, Michael is unique as a singer and performer, in that he doesn't actually do it. Seriously, that was a point being made in a recent thread.

LOL, yeah I've noticed you riffing off on some of the members. lol I'm getting quite sick of them too. They compare Michael to anything they consider "pure" and shit, it just makes me wanna hurl but I don't say shit because I wanna keep my space.

I wonder what the point was. Michael hasn't been really PERFORMING since 1997, really. confused Let's keep it real, Michael hasn't been known for being a performer for a decade.

Basically... stay away from fans that only listen to MJ and nobody else. How can you have perspective on an artist if you never listen to anyone else?

But then again, an artists fans are no reason to not like the artist. After all... I still like Prince biggrin

There are plenty of normal MJ fans though. I promise. It's just the crazy's like the people at MJJF that get all the attention.

I have to agree. I always knew that a lot of MJ's fans were crazy but had no idea Prince fans share this "Prince is God" mentality that so many MJ fans seem to have about Michael as well. A lot of MJ fans are a little out there but Prince fans (And Madonna's for that matter) aint too far behind neutral .

I've disliked Michael for years - ever since he went for the 'scary white woman' look. His behavior shows he's got a problem with blackness. But you're right, the MJ Lunatic Legion makes me dislike him more. They'll excuse anything. All I know is, if a grown-ass man was having sleep-overs for little kids in my neighborhood, I'd have five-0 on him so fast. Celebrity or not, that's inappropriate behavior.

There are fans and there are 'fanatics'. The MJ fanatics are wayyyyy out there - worse than Elvis fanatics.

I agree with you Cinammon. Prince fans are the biggest hypocrites around. Madonna and Janet fans are not far behind. These people think that is is alright to praise everything that their artist does, but go ballistic when a MJ fan praises him, supports him, respects him and shows love for him. These same hypocrites have a serious problem when MJ fans do NOT agree with their crap about the man. It seems that they think that they have a RIGHT to say what they want and go unchallenged. Some of these same hypocrites use the pathetic EXCUSE that they don't like Michael because of his fans. What a weak cop-out. Why not be mature and just say that you don't like the man or his music. I can truthfully say that my dislike of an artist has nothing to do with their hypocritical fans. Some of you need to grow up and be able to handle what you dish out. If you are so weak-minded as to to like an artist because of what his fans say or do then he doesn't need you as a fan, anyway. There is nothing worse than a wishy-washy, fair-weather "fan" who uses EXCUSES as to not being a fan. If you don't want to be a fan then go, leave, stop being a fan. Stop with the bull@#$% excuses. Grow the hell up! I wonder if THIS response will cause some more so-called "fans" to stop being fans. Sorry, but I am not one of those people who apologize for being a Michael Jackson fan and I do not apologize for pointing out hypocrisy in other artists' fans.

the current crop of MJ fans have made me dislike Michael, which is silly, because Michael is one of my favorites. I'm an MJ fan naturally, but these crazies are dumb as all ish; mentally handicapped individuals.
The final straw and the reason for this thread was some of their responses to Chris Cornell's brilliant cover of Billie Jean. MJ fans are on youtube talking about "MJ's version is better" "He (Cornell) ruined it".....

mad mad mad mad mad mad even if you don't like the cover, why put a negative spin on it, accept it for what it is and move on.

I love Chris Cornell's version. It's the best cover of "Billie Jean" i've ever heard and I'm a huge Michael fan. MJ fans who say that his cover sucks are obviously tone deaf.

I haven't heard Chris' version of "Billie Jean". Of course, any MJ fan who doesn't like it is entitled to their own opinion. I thought that Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal" was wonderful; however, a lot of fans didn't like it. That was THEIR opinion. The problem that I have with the person who started this thread is the blatant categorizing of ALL MJ fans as if we think alike. That's not only unfair;but, immature as well. These same people are the ones who would have a hissy fit if someone did a Prince cover and they didn't like it. In fact, Prince fans do it all the time complaining about other artists who they THINK have bitten off of Prince. Again, the DOUBLE STANDARDS and hypocrisy from these people is almost epidemic.

great another moan about how crazy the MJ fans are rolleyes

strange thing is alot of the fans have been told how crazy they are so now they decide to play up to this

after all if people think they are crazy why disappoint them

sure there are a few that even MJ fans look at and think eek about but for the majority MJ fans arent that bad i think people need to start to take a look at other fans eg Madonna's, Prince's or even Janet's because you get some intresting people within them as well

all i can say about this is if you go on to a MJ site your very unlikely to find a thread hating about prince's fans or anyone elses infact they normally only show respect

People might not do it, lol, but some of them keep their thoughts to themselves. Only few will come out and dare say that Prince's fans or Madonna's fans are a "wild" bunch. lol They might not do it but they think it. But you can be sure they sometimes THINK it. I think some people rant on some of Michael's fans because they believe some have a screw loose considering all the mess that has come about him. They may show respect to the fan base but they like to compare other artists to Michael's music, it is the same thing as what any other artist fan says but I don't even think if you don't like that artist's music that you shouldn't compare that song to something another artist did ten, maybe twenty, thirty years ago.

I think your the exact type of fan people are talking about. You are always defending, justifying and rationalizing Michael behaviour, even if that behaviour has left his reputation in tatters. Have you ever taken a step back and looked at MJ own behaviour to see what others see? I doubt you have. It's like your afraid to take any kind of constructive criticism about him as if to say by doing that you are not a "true" fan. neutral

I think fans of any artist (MICHAEL FANS INCLUDED lol ) get on this rap that if we don't like the way an artist act or whatever that we're not true fans. I sometimes would say "why Michael did this or that" like the Bashir interview or when he held that baby over the balcony (the MJ fan "politically correct" term we use, lol) or when he did that MSG show and some would type...in capital letters: "YOU ARE NOT A REAL FAN. I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING MICHAEL DOES BECAUSE HE IS SPECIAL. YOU DON'T GET THAT SPECIALNESS." lol Sure Prince fans (SOME of them) act like that, some Madonna fans act like that too (notice I said SOME, not ALL) but when it comes to Michael and his legal matters, that's all day every day. I am a fan of his music but I always felt the man personally was a little too far gone, not off the wall (no pun) but his behavior sometimes has me like confused So sometimes I just don't say anything, I just lurk.

The majority of MJ's internet fan community are annoying little gits who like R&B and R&B only. Stray away from anything they're used to and it freaks them out. That's why when they express opinions on what he should do with music in the future, they just list off the same old boring people who collaborate with everyone, and they actually expect an album to be nothing but collaborations bored

Ellie, I disagree with that statement. In fact, it seems that there are more internet fans who want him to do that horrible dance/electronic pop type of thing. Most fans who want him to go in the R&B direction are "old school" fans who have been fans for 25+ years. I am one of those "old school" fans. Most of us realize that pop radio will not support anything Michael does. We also know that his music is as good as anything else that they are playing, but they are not going to give it a chance because of their bias against him. R&B radio DID give Michael's music a chance with Invincible and that is the very reason that it was a success in the USA with over 2.5 million albums sold. If Michael releases an album filled with dance/electronica pop, R&B radio won't touch it. Without that support, people won't be able to hear his music. Fans who want Michael's new music to have a feel of "soul" or "R&B" are not only little 13 year olds. Long time fans, also want the same thing. The critics aren't going to be fair to him, anyway. They never are. They critique him, his looks, his personal life. Very few music critiques have the integrity to focus on the merits of his music. That is the very reason that REAL fans don't give a $#%^ about what critics say because their critiques are based on their bias of the man and not of his music.

There was even a quote from Chris Cornell complimenting MJ a couple of days ago. I saw it posted on MJJForum and one person wasn't satisfied with his praise just because he called MJ a "good musician" in his sentence. Basically, if you're not totally licking his balls, it's unacceptable dead

It was in German so here's the translation:

Chris Cornell doesn't like the way the media is treating Michael. He just loves the king of pop. He told FHM-magazine: "If he's on top or not, why bother about that? Jackson is and will always be a good musician, although he wasn't always lucky in the past. He'll always be an icon. I heard that he's working on a new album right now. If he ever needs help he can call me anytime.

How in any way is that negative?

I really don't understand how any fan can consider those statements negative. The fact that a fan or even a few fans find negativity in Chris' statement does not and should not infer that ALL Micheal fans are of the same mindset. It is an insult to put all MJ fans into the same category.Just because we support, respect and love the man and his music, doesn't mean that all of us would attack Chris Connel for his very POSITIVE remarks about Michael. The person who started this thread seems to be one of those who take what ONE fan or a few fans say and use that as an excuse to put all MJ fans into a "group" mentality. It also seems to be another tactic to bash not only MJ's fans, but him, as well. How pathetic!

You are correct. Very, very seldom will you ever find a thread in ANY MJ forum that hates on Prince. In fact, if someone does it the moderators will close it. It's sad that some fans of Prince feel the need to bash Michael, in order to have a feeling of superiority. Of course, they have been doing that since Prince became popular. For some strange reason, they have always felt the need to tear down Michael in order to build Prince up. For those that claim that they do it because of the MJ's personal life and because of his looks, I say bull#$%^. These same people were doing the same thing in the 80's when personal problems and looks had nothing to do with their attacks. My question is why are fans of Prince, Madonna and Janet so THREATENED by Michael and his fans love for him? What does that have to do with their love for their favorite artists? Finally, I think most fans of Michael don't bash Prince because they know that Michael has never spoken ill of any other artist and respects their talent.

No, I'm one of those fans who doesn't agree with the crap that some people put out about Michael. There are those who know absolutely nothing about the recent case and trial against MJ, but are the first to call him a "pedophile". That has nothing to do with justifying, defending his "behavior". That has everything to do FACTS vs. opinion. That has everything to do with actually following the case, the allegations, the transcripts, the characters involved in the conspiracy. Again, there are people like you who have the audacity to think that THEIR opinion is gospel and have a problem with people who don't agree with that opinion. I have no problem with anyone who agrees with me. You and others should have the same maturity and have no problem when I don't agree with what you have to say. It's only the fair thing to do. If you can say what you want, shouldn't I be able to say the same thing without the whining about MJ fans being "fanatic"? No one HAS to agree with anything said, on both sides.

^^ That I DO agree with. I'm sick of people stating that everything after Bad/Dangerous is factually rubbish. I'm sick of people talking about the trial making judgements when they know about 2% of what really went on.

I'll tell you one thing I have also witnessed with MJ "haters" too, is this new crop of complete WEIRDOS who follow news/gossip on his finances and business deals. On the Digital Spy forums there are people who read Roger Friedman's Fox411 columns and memorise them, and they can't stand MJ. What the hell is so important or interesting about that?
