Undoubtedly talented, and he's written some great songs, but he's also produced a huge amount of flaccid bilge. So, no, he's no genius.

I don't think he'e reached genius status yet (and he might not considereing the path in music he'e taking). He he would have stayed the same route he did from 91-95/96 then maybe but the material he's releasing now is no where near good.

Another question, are Teddy Riley and Babyface genius'?

What differentiates Teddy Riley/Babyface and R.K is the fact that R.Kelly has ben able to be a very successful solo artist.

Where in prince case out of all of his 70sumthin lps only 4 or 5 are worth buying the rest are 2 good songs, and 8 garbage songs

Very talented dude but genius, no not yet. If he can make another good album like "R. Kelly", then maybe, but nothing on his latest makes me think "oh that's real genius" right here. So no.

These 2 are his best to me biggrin

Others have their moments

This one was more like an R. Kelly production featuring Aaliyah, than an actual Aaliyah album...But it had its moments too biggrin

Spoken like a true follower of self-proclaimed "Pied Piper of R n B"! lol

Let me see - Prince is the greatest living popular musician. In terms of musical chops alone, he wipes the floor with R Kelly. Have you ever seen R Kelly ever play guitar, piano, drums, bass on stage - AT THE SAME GIG?

In terms of musical output, Prince has made the following masterpieces:

1999, Purple Rain, Parade, Around The World in a Day, Sign O The Times, The Gold Experience. Before, after and in between, his albums have at least two or three stone cold classics apiece - ok, apart from the last two, but that's just me.

R Kelly almost made a great album with R, but it was too long. He's written about eight or nine great songs, the rest are forgettable or plain embarassing.

The question you have to ask yourself when comparing Prince/anyone to another musician is can Prince do what R Kelly does, and can R Kelly do what Prince does? The answer to the question is that Prince could make R Kelly records, but wouldn't want to. R Kelly would love to make Prince records but couldn't, because his talents don't stretch that far.

I definitely agree. I only said "R. Kelly" because he mixed styles, hip-hop, soul, gospel, etc. Plus I can't call it a "great" album because of "You Remind Me of Something" when he compare women to inanimate objects. lol

Yes I think he is. Sure some of his songs are crap and some are even downright embarrassing lol but he is a talented dude. He's a good songwriter and I know he plays a few instruments. I also think he has a pretty good voice. I mean he's been around for a while and is still going strong. I can think of a lot more reasons for why he is a musical genius than not.

I don't think his longevity makes him a "genius". It makes him a seasoned veteran. lol He does play the piano pretty well though.

R Kelly better than prince? Hell to the muthafuckin naw!
no no no! no no no!
Robert has 40 sumthin lps out and only 3 are decent. 12 play, self titled, and r. The rest of his lp's are mostly bullshit. He can't carry prince's jock strap especially musically. Robert plays one instrument which is piano. Prince plays drums, keyboards, and is a master on the guitar. He writes much better material than robert and puts on a far better show than robert could ever deliver. Robert doesn't know if he wants to be a singer or a rapper. And i see his 40 year old ass in another video with another rapper i will send a bounty hunter to throw his ass in jail. I doubt if you can convince the average music lover that prince has only 4 or 5 good cds. His catalogue of great fuckin music will swallow robert's shit.

Of course this guy will never be able to compete with the skills and showmanship of Prince or other legendary talents, but Robert is a damn good songwriter and vocalist. I loved most of his 90's to early 00's output such as his 1995 self-titled album, 12 Play, TP-2.Com and R., but nowadays I don't really admire what he does. He wants to keep reinventing and labeling himself as a young artist that aims to a younger audience. I too agree that he doesn't know if he wants to be a rapper or a singer. I'm just waiting for Robert to do something like Chocolate Factory or even Happy People/U Saved Me again, because for a 40-year man, this new image he's trying match with these other R&B youngins today isn't looking good for him. Maturity is all he needs! Oh and did I mention the song he wrote for Whitney Houston's eagerly-anticipated new album, entitled "I Look to You", sounds like it is going to be a big hit and it does sound a lot better than "You Are Not Alone", which he wrote for Michael back in the day.

I can't agree with that. TP-2.com and Chocolate Factory are better than 12 Play and R. IMO.

I played TP-2.com a hella lot of times back in 2000. That was a damn hot and decent album! Some of the songs were rubbish and foolish like Feelin' On Yo Booty and Strip For You, but overall it was pretty good. I still think that his self-titled album is his best!

A genius at making shit music, worthless pile of horse wank.

Not only that, he is a genius at fucking young girls.

Black horse cock seems to be ruling the airwaves.

Not even the law can stop this genius.

He loves young pussy. And he is a true Clit Banger. The way he sucked off that young pussy in that video was mind boggling.

R kelly, the role model for aspiring people.

Let the Clit games begin. razz razz

R kelly will have his own world concert soon,
called "LIVE CLITS: SAVE THE YOUNG PUSSY".
