Krayzie, you are brave to post such a thread like this, knowing I would see it lol

Bold, that's what u are lol

Here's the answer to your question.....

HELL MUTHAFUCKIN NAW TO THE TENTH DEGREE!!!!!

I must admit, I do like Aaliyah's debut album but EVERYTHING ELSE? Get tha fuck outta here is what I say. I nearly shit on myself when I read in a newspaper review for a one his concerts that he wrote better love songs than Prince.

WHAT THE FUCK?!

What was the writer smokin, snortin, shooting up, and drinking doses of to come up with that kind of stupid ass conclusion?!

Anyway, I will say he's kinda talented in some aspects, but a genius? Hell no!

I wonder how they came up with that conclusion when the man in question is known for such ditties as:

"You remind me of my Jeep/I wanna ride it/something like my sound/I wanna pump it..."

"So let see some ID before I get to B-E-D..."

"Girl I got you so wet/it's like a rainforest/like 'Jurassic Park' except/I'm your sex-o-saurus, babe..."

"Girl I promise this will be painless, painless/we'll take a trip to planet Uranus, anus..."

"I can make your body talk to me/all I need is some CDs, a bag of weed and some Hennessy..."

"MILTON! You bogus, girl! MILTON!"

"You motherf-f-f-f-f-f, girl you been with my best friend..."

...and my all-time favorite:

"Girl I'm ready to toss your salad/while making love girl/I'll be feasting..."

While that's sexually a turn-on for some, I don't think he'll get into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame with lyrics like that, as pleasing as it is to some. lol

Like I said, he IS a talented musician but God, I cringe when I hear the "genius" tone.

I can't agree with that. TP-2.com and Chocolate Factory are better than 12 Play and R. IMO.

I played TP-2.com a hella lot of times back in 2000. That was a damn hot and decent album! Some of the songs were rubbish and foolish like Feelin' On Yo Booty and Strip For You, but overall it was pretty good. I still think that his self-titled album is his best!

That's right dude. Even prince could outsex r.kelly on record in his prime and prince even made the shit sound smooth. R.kelly ain't got shit that could fuck with prince's international lover. That one record alone will put anything r.kelly got to shame. We won't even talk about other prince love songs like do me baby, adore, scandalous,or insatiable.

I think genius is an overused word nowadays. That being said, R. Kelly definitely knows how to write a catchy hook. I dig a lot of his songs, except all that "ghetto opera" stuff. He's a talented songwriter with an ear for a catchy hook and wordplay that appeals to the inner-city. A lot of his lyrics may be sophomoric as hell, but it doesn't stop cats from blasting his s**t in their rides.

If there's any hint of genius in Robert Kelly, it's how's he's avoided jail for so long...

If you want my honest opinion, he ruined his reputation when he made Trapped in the Closet because no one took it as seriously as he did. He was the one with a straight face saying he made something that would be memorable for the "right" reasons, instead it'll be remembered for the "wrong" reasons and the wrong is that it's unintentionally funny. COME ON, all the original chapters was hilarious, but nothing tops the genius of having the midget and the fat trailer trash woman making love causing the woman to cheat on her cheating gun-wielding cop. lol

hmmm that doesnt stop from yall calling prince a genius, when i will say R. kelly has 50 more songs that are better than prince.

Where in prince case out of all of his 70sumthin lps only 4 or 5 are worth buying the rest are 2 good songs, and 8 garbage songs

Sorry P has about 10 whole cds that are great and he is a much better song writer than R Kelly. If Kelly had stated the course from when he got started and not drifed into these dumb ass lyrics maybe he would be a P's level.

You got to be African-American because only black people let artist slide on sorry-ass stupid lyrics.

I'm young and black but I have a problem with some of the songs he has released. But Robert seems to understand even if he releases garbage constantly and constantly, the "inner city" would gobble it up. Funny though because none of his songs after "Step in the Name of Love" reached number one on the R&B charts and that was what, four years ago? LOL

Spoken like a true follower of self-proclaimed "Pied Piper of R n B"! lol

Let me see - Prince is the greatest living popular musician. In terms of musical chops alone, he wipes the floor with R Kelly. Have you ever seen R Kelly ever play guitar, piano, drums, bass on stage - AT THE SAME GIG?

In terms of musical output, Prince has made the following masterpieces:

1999, Purple Rain, Parade, Around The World in a Day, Sign O The Times, The Gold Experience. Before, after and in between, his albums have at least two or three stone cold classics apiece - ok, apart from the last two, but that's just me.

R Kelly almost made a great album with R, but it was too long. He's written about eight or nine great songs, the rest are forgettable or plain embarassing.

The question you have to ask yourself when comparing Prince/anyone to another musician is can Prince do what R Kelly does, and can R Kelly do what Prince does? The answer to the question is that Prince could make R Kelly records, but wouldn't want to. R Kelly would love to make Prince records but couldn't, because his talents don't stretch that far.

That was his last #1, but he's had 5 top-10 singles since then (including a #2 this year). FWIW, he lost me after "Happy People," which I love.

lol lol lol lol He´s keeping it real !
I used to know dozens of German ghetto chicks over here who designed their whole "lifestyle" based on those lyrics. They really, really thought he was a genius and memorized all of this shit.
What´s even more shocking is the fact that I once got into a heated debate with two colleagues of mine, both American ladies well in their late 40´s, who kept going on and on what a genius R.Kelly is...and both have a university degree !

That " you remind me of my Jeep " lyric is killer ! lol
