Yeah! I was raised in Detroit!

My parents saw all of the Motown Greats in their primes.

Diana Ross and The Supremes
Little Stevie Wonder
The Temptations
Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
Marvin Gaye
and many more!

I've heard that Saturdays at the Fox Theatre were religious experiences!

I recently came across a Temptations DVD of tv performances and was totally blown away. I can only imagine the kind of energy generated in person!

Before he got saved. My Pentecostal father and some of his army buddies went to this club in California and checked out Ray Charles(Before he became famous). He said Ray brought the house down.

Can I ask how old is your father. confused If he saw Ray Charles before he became famous, that is a long, long time ago. lol

And for those parents who went to see the J5, how old were they when they went to see them? Because I can't really imagine peeps in their 20s and 30s going to see the J5 when they first started out.
My father is in his late 70's, And yes that was a long time ago.

I recall my parents talking about a Jackson 5 concert.
I know my they went to a lot of concerts featuring motown acts.
Also, The Temptations, BB King, Oak Ridge Boys(no idea), and my mom's favorite The Platters.
