Hey, I wasn't digging the shit either...until I found out that Em was 17 years old when he made the tape that was circulated three years ago...There's a reason why a lot of the MC's did not get on the white boy about it...They understood the situation...Now if he got on his Aftermath debut and said that shit then I think MC's would tear him a new asshole...

I really don't care how old he was. Kids in elementary school know not to use that word. He, at 17, knew not to use that word. It was in his heart. I bought the Slim Shady LP and loved him then. I didn't buy any other albums because he was just over-hyped at that point, but I will admit he is talented however I cannot stand behind him because of this. Also, he changed his style from talking about himself and his fucked up life situations to talking about other people just for shock value. I wasn't cool with that.

yea kids in elemntry school DO know not to say it, but that dont stop all these black rappers out from saying it. do u get mad @ them too?

Jan: I assume you also lose all respect for Black folk who call thier ex-es nigger bitches?

How about people who call others faggot bitches?

Following that line of behaviour, how many people in the world will there be left for you to have a mutal respect?

Oh...and how about the fact that Marshall would actually DATE a black woman?

Ah well...

edit: In the end, you're right. I also have a hard time giving respect to people who like to hurt others with racist words. However, I like to try to take in the picture as a whole, and it seems this was really a one off "just trying to get back at her" for dumping my ass" type thing. If I couldn't look past it or other transgressions by others in the industry, I probably wouldn't have any respect for hip-hop alltogether.

I have never heard a black rapper call a woman a nigger bitch. A bitch, yes, a nigger bitch, no

How about people who call others faggot bitches?

I think calling someone a faggot in a demeaning way is wrong too however I have no problem with gays calling each other faggots

Following that line of behaviour, how many people in the world will there be left for you to have a mutal respect?

We're only talking about Em here, no need to get broad like that. This is someone where I know for a fact what he said

He never has since and said in an interview he could never date a black woman because they would have him all fucked up

Ah well...

There are issues in hip-hop that need to be addressed separately but we are talking about a white man who used the word nigger in a black dominated industry and everyone is ok with it

Youre judging a man's entire body of work from one song? confused

Please, one bad song are you crazy. Eminem has amassed a catalog of horrible songs these last few yrs. I'm judging him on the crap that was Ass Like That, Big Weenie, My Band, Just Lose It, Fack, Shake That, Rainman, Puke, and My Ballz.

Actually,Eminem himself admitted that he sells more records because he is White. His race is no issue to me,I just don't like him.

Yes, I've heard him say that too Davideye. I've also heard many people including many on this site say he's only selling as much as he sells because he's white. Frankly, I don't care because I don't like him or his music.

You've got to admit that he makes as much fun of himself as anybody else. I'm not sure if that validates his more inflammatory lyrics, but self-depreciating humour is always a sign of a heightened emotional intelligence (if not an academic intelligence).

Yep, I sure do get mad. In fact, 75% of sales for rap music in general come via white kids not black folks. We stopped supporting that mess a long time ago. And, just because there are some black people doing something stupid doesn't give anybody else license to be retarded right along w/ them.

What black woman did Eminem date? That one that his friends and family members were ready to testify never existed. That's why he dropped that suit w/ the Source. He didn't want that mess to come out in court. His friends that hung out w/ him came out to say that they didn't understand why Em made up some fake girlfriend. I can't believe you fell for that mess. Every other girl that he's flaked on he's been mad descriptive. This chick that incited so much hate for him was just a black chick.

I'll say it again...There are plenty of other reasons to shit on the white boy than for some ignorant, racist crap he said when he was 17 or 18 years old (Like: The fact that the media continuously places him as the only rapper that matters)...But I myself think that he's lyrically one of the best MC's out there when he's not making songs about asses...The truth is just ask any true MC from Rakim to Nas what they think about him as a lyricist (Although he hasn't released a consistent album in almost five years...)...They will tell you the kid is no joke...I think lyrically dismissing the guy because he has made some dumb ass songs is a bit foolish..It's like saying Jay-Z is not much of an MC because on some of his songs he talks about guns and money...In other words, it's a silly argument...

Why can't I dismiss him when you just said he hasn't had a consistent album in FIVE YRS. It's not like Eminem has been out for a long period of time. That well of talent sure did seem to dry up rather quickly. You can say whatever you want I have serious doubts about Eminem. I watched him get smashed at the Rap Olympics by Juice. I know Kool G Rap was the guy responsible for the material he spit in the freestyles for 8 mile. And, I haven't seen the guy take on anybody that could fight back lyrically besides Canibus. You want me to respect somebody who hasn't had a good album in five yrs, and has only been out in the mainstream since 98? You want me to respect somebody that has battled more pop stars than he has any real MCs. Please, I never said Eminem didn't have some good songs. However, his current catalog doesn't even warrant the critical acclaim he still gets.

I said consistent my man...not good...Consistent meaning that he's capable of bringing a great album everytime...But it's not his lyrics that are holding him back...It's his obsession with producing every track on his album; to me, that's what's keeping him from making another great album...I never said since '98...But you bring out some interesting points...you know your shit.....

I'm ambivalent. Hes fairly talented, but overrated overall. He's said some shit about blacks and gays, and depending who you ask that was either racist and homophobic, or it was taken out of context. (whatever that means...) I'm not making a judgement though, since I've never heard any of the songs/tapes he's supposed to have said this shit on.

First of all, your search included mostly songs that either only referred to men and was ending with "nigga" and started another sentence with "bitch" and vice versa. Black rappers don't say nigger they say nigga. I don't have a problem with my people using the word and some black people may disagree with me, but I do have a problem with a white man saying it against me and/or my people which is what Eminem did

Dude, don't EVEN attempt to qualify Eminems use of the words nigger bitch etc. by what black hip-hop does. Try saying that around town on some "but it's only because Im indoctrinated by black rappers using the word nigga" and see how your face looks after your spoken diatribe.
