Missy Elliot Problem!

I am currently re-organising my cd-collection while moving it into the study...

I file artists alphabettically, then multiple releases by one artist chronologically.

Missy Elliot's albums kind of were already kept apart before I moved it in there and now I am wondering; should I file her under "M" or rather the "E"?

I'd say "E", but I am willing to listen to suggestions.

If you're anal enough 2 alphabetize and store choronologically, I say file under "E".

Well, if your collection grows and grows it is the best way to find back albums quick and easy.

BTW, did you say 'anal'? I do believe you said 'anal'.

she is absolutely, totally one of my most favorite female vocalists ever. i'd love one day to collaborate with someone and write a musical about her life.

Have you seen Beautiful Thing, a GRRREAT movie from the UK, which has a special place for Mama Cass's music?

Quote from Beautiful Thing;

Sandra: It's not natural, is it?
Jamie: What ain't?
Sandra: A girl her age being into Mama Cass.
Leah: She's got a really beautiful voice.
Sandra: And what's wrong with Madonna?
Leah: She's a slut.
Sandra: Hypocrite.

That damn ham sandwich story. lol I remember an interview with her daughter, and she discussed that. The gist was, "My mom was Jewish. Why the hell would she be eating a ham sandwich?"

And filing Missy - you have the exact same filing system I do (except I even break it down into genre first). E for Elliott. biggrin

lol That I did. I'm totally guilty of that. My music collection is my only real extravagance and I'm totally O.C.D. with the way I store it. It's frightening, really.

He, hee. All kinds of stuff, I guess. I used to work in radio and get promo singles of stuff (a lot of it really bad), cuz I'm an impossible pack rat, I never threw any of them away, so it just gets bigger. It fills just about an entire room now.

LoL
The theme running through my collection is GROWTH. Artists that do not repeat themselves. ANd if they do, I stop collecting.

Don't say that!
Missy is her FIRST name, Elliot is her own name. David Bowie goes to B, Missy Elliot to E

I know! Oddly, I had the same debate.

For fake names like "Foxy Brown", I would rather file under F though.

I realize Missy is really her name.
