Rufus Wainwright

Want One and Want Two are albums that deserve to be listened to.
A real talent - any fans?

I absolutely adore Rufus and his music. I love Wants One and Two, but Poses is one of my all-time favorite albums by any1. I've seen him live and he is incredible. biggrin

Hehehe. He can both play an audience solo and with a band.

Dunno about the drag, though...

around want one you would have found a lot of people who admired him but he seems to be a one trick pony whose voice can outlast its welcome.....

And I think that's the reason I've never gotten into him.

I've heard enough of the guy's material to know that I can't stand his voice.

Case closed for me. sad

its funny, for me...when i heard want one...i was in love....i played that thing out...then i listened to a couple of his other works and thought, "oh....is he always on level 10? i cant handle this." it killed my enjoyment of want one and i have never listened to it again..

biggrin

confuse

a guy you like or dont like?

cause if you dont like him what does it matter what he likes? or do you do like him so your frustrated that he does like him? or do you like someone that likes him who doesnt like you?

now im confused redface

..and that's what your ass gets for trying to understand shit. This guy that i was talking to BLAH BLAH BLAH(insert gay drama here..) is a HUGE Rufus fain. Like i'm a huge Prince fan. And everytime i hear or see Rufus it reminds me of Sean and all that damn drama we went though and me ending up not liking his ass.

nod

And LIVE it was incredible.
I've been a fan since his first album. My favorites are his debut disc and Want One. He's dynamic live, but I felt he never really connected to the audience. My favorite live show was with the L.A. philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. He seemed most engaged in than performance -- much moreso than with his own band.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark
