Dutch Radio 3FM 80'sRequest Top 100...

Dutch people are rather cool. On Radio 3Fm they have chosen a 80's top 100 and guess who made the top 10?

I think it's a rather funky list....

1 The Cure - A Forest - 1980
2 U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday - 1985
3 The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary - 1986
4 Falco - Jeanny - 1986
5 Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right - 1987
6 A-Ha - Take On Me - 1985
7 Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine - 1988
8 U2 - With Or Without You - 1987
9 Golden Earring - When The Lady Smiles - 1984
10 New Order - Blue Monday - 1983

It's a weird top 10, but at least The Cure made nr 1 and New Order is there too!

Weirdest to me are first Falco, who did some English/German language singles with Dutch producers The Bollands (you might heard of Rock Me Amadeus), but at least it's rather cutting edge 80's.
Then A-Ha? Okay, it was a HUGE hit. But in this list they stand out.

Golden Earring's When The Lady Smile is still vintage 80's. It was a big hit all over the world, but if you haven't heard it; download it. It's 80's rock and I have it also... it's pure nostalgia to me.

I love GnR there, btw. Their first album was niiiiice.

I like the ecclectic taste of Dutchies. Can't wait to find out what the other 90 are like... they announce them soon.

I'm fed up with this 80's week on dutch radio.....it seems like they do it every other month.....thank god it's over tomorrow. With only a few exceptions, most of it is shit and didn't stand the test of time!
How come I have not heard any Joy Division? Or Devo? Or Talking Heads? Only loads of English crap like Kajagoogoo, Howard Jones, Feargal Sharkey.....barf
