I saw the Diamonds and Pearls gig at Earls Court...my first ever concert! (ahh, bless!) Then I saw the Jam of the Year at Wembley and then Brixton, but also got into the Cafe de Paris gig...then I saw the One Night Alone gig twice in London.

Unfortunately I missed the Gold tour 'cause I was broke too!

Don't worry Andy, I reckon you'll see him some point next year, and once you have you'll be hooked!

I've seen hime at paisley park too many times to count! I've also seen him a few times at the Target Center in Minneapolis & the Excel Center in St.Paul & I saw him at the Northrup on th U of M campus for the 1st celebration & I saw him at the Mill City Music Festival(had to pay for that one twice because we got kicked out)

Every show I've seen has been so much fun! I didnt have a bad experience at any of them! Mill City was awesome! Standing in the street in the middle of downtown was surreal! Also got VIP passes fo th after party & one of the shows but I dont remember which one. My favorite I think was at the Target Center because I was sitting by Robert Smith who was the running back for the Vikings back then & he is one fine man!!!

Great memories though!

Yeah,
1998, 18th December, Zaragoza (Spain) (NPS Tour).
It was an incredible show, he is the best. He played a complete version of Purple Rain, and it seemed he played it for the very first time, superb.
I want to see him again!!!

Hi Andy,

Don;t worry. Prince will be hopefully touring the UK some time next year although this isn't guarenteed. I saw him at the Hammersmith APollo for the first time last year... and he was amazing...

Here's what you need to do... keep an eye on the Prince.Org pages checking for regular info on gigs... because if he decides to tour the UK (London) again then the information will be posted on this site first...

Then as soon as the tickets go on sale you need to make sure that you book them asap because they will sell really quickly...for more information on this keep logging to this website for news and info (It is likely that the tickets will be sold again through ticketmaster UK - thats where i got last years tickets from)... also the price for the tickets is likely to be between £40-£80 so make sure you keep enough money in your bank to pay for the tickets and buy any souveneers.

GOOD LUCK ANDY and hopefully you'll see Prince for the first time in UK in 2004... in the meantime keep listening to his music and buy all his good albums.

stay funky!

I saw him live for the first time in Brisbane, Australia just a few weeks ago. Spectacular - I'm not going to go over it because there's already been a billion threads about it in the last few weeks in the "Concerts" forum but yeah... worth the eight-year wait.

because the Purple Rain Tour didn't go to Europe ...
The Parade-tour is the first I attended. That's also the best I've seen.
After that I've seen lots of shows ...
the only tour I missed is ONA ... but that's because my daughter was born in that period!

I don't think I will go to a new tour if Prince won't play the oldies ... the new stuff aint my thang

Is this true? I met a plumber in the UK who claimed he'd been to the original Purple Rain concert, but then again he originally quoted just 50 quid (true story!)

I heard that Sign o the Times never went state side but I never knew about Purple rain not going to Europe.

Purple Rain never went to Europe, all we got was the Syracuse, NY, live-broadcast in 1984(?), that's when I got hooked...

I'm sure Prince will play the UK again when he tours
properly next year. In the meantime, why not try and
get hold of some of his live videos/dvds to get the
feel for the 'Prince live' experience.

Trying to remember which shows I've been to.

Parade - awesome
Lovesexy - even more awesome
Nude - crap
The symbol/name change tour - can't remember what it was named - ok but I hate stadium shows
The Gold Experience Tour - good show but marred with technical problems
Emporium Aftershow 23/3/95 - the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed.
Another concert (on the same day he did the Hippodrome aftershow) which I can't remember the name - okay but too much dancing and posing and not enough singing goddamnit!

All seen in London.
To be honest, and I may get some flack for this, now I'm ONLY interested in seeing the aftershows, although the only guaranteed way is as an NPGMC member to buy a ticket to the gig. I prefer the music he plays at aftershows, which is why I collect them.

No support acts that I can remember, just the playing of Andreas Vollenweider, Behind The Gardens, Behind The Wall, Under The tree. Although I think Candy Dulfer did do one in Offenbach the open air gig on 27th August '88.

I have seen the following tours:

Parade, Sign O The Times, Lovesexy (every European date), Nude (22 in UK plus a heap of European ones), Diamonds & Pearls, Gold and Live!

Start saving some pennies now, one gig won't be enough!!

I started a list of concerts, but I cannot remember them all wall

I started going since 1986 and only missed four concerts in Holland until last year's tour (when i lived in Paris)

I saw shows in England, Germany, Belgium and France too.

Prince shows are sumthing. Most times Prince will put on a show and even when he does not give his all, you get a lifetime experience.

The fave shows I attended were Dortmund, the televised show. That piano set sigh

Every single Sign O The Times shows I attended.

The aftershow at Tivoli, Utrecht

And Le Bataclan last year, which was the best concert I saw. I never saw Prince in THAT good a mood. He did LOADS of different voices, made the crowd do yell backs etc.
Amazing.

Oh, and some TV gigs.

The TV Show gig was most fun, as the presenter was astounded by Prince's atitude and his fans shouted so hard he did the canceled interview after all.

I would only describe myself fanatic when it comes to seeing the man live.
His records don't touch me anymore in the way they used to, but seeing him live...
Jeez.

In the old days (the PRE internet era) it was also the best way to meet nutters that had access to boots. I met alot of fun people that way.

YES!!! that is my all time favourite Prince "live" moment. I even had a suit made up just like the one he wears for that 'cept mine is black and silver.

I Liked the Rotterdam shows better ...
The Piano-set was a surprise to me in Rotterdam... in Dortmund it wasn't anymore. In Rotterdam I had the feeling it was spontaneous.

The guitar going broke during Anna Stesia in Dortmund ...
such a shame

But indeed ... Dortmund is great too!

1987 "SOTT" tour (two shows)
1988 "Lovesexy" tour
1990 "Nude" tour
2002 "ONA" tour

1987 and 1988 were fantastic, 1990 sucked bigtime, 2002 was fantastic again!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
