So...I find it strange that it's ok to talk about his estate, unsealed divorce records, other personal areas of his life when those are some things that P considered private. But we can't talk about why he is no longer here. Some of us care about what happened to Prince and the reasons why this happened to him.
as far as I know, we can talk about that, just not about drugs
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

You dont need prior approval by the Court to file.

The Grammys ceremony, on Feb. 12, is the focus of a major marketing campaign set up by the music companies that have rights to release Prince’s songs, and by the streaming services that have been hungry to carry the music but were blocked from doing so by Prince himself before he died last year at 57.

If all goes according to plan, Prince’s music will be made available on virtually all streaming services around the time of the Grammys, where an all-star musical tribute to Prince is expected to be one of the show’s splashiest moments.

To promote the music’s availability online, Spotify is expected to run a number of promotional spots, including, perhaps, a television ad during the broadcast and a series of online teasers to begin as early as next week, according to several people with direct knowledge of the plans who were not authorized to speak about them. Spotify declined to comment. The Grammys ceremony, on Feb. 12, is the focus of a major marketing campaign set up by the music companies that have rights to release Prince’s songs, and by the streaming services that have been hungry to carry the music but were blocked from doing so by Prince himself before he died last year at 57.

“The drivers of what will happen with Prince will be the estate,” said L. Londell McMillan, a lawyer who represented Prince and is one of two experts advising the estate’s administrators on entertainment deals. “When you are looking to release product, you’re looking for the right moments. The Grammys may represent a moment in time, but it’s not certain that that’s going to be the case.”

Randy Grimmett, a Global Music Rights executive, said that before he died, Prince had been considering managing his performing rights himself, a burden that few musicians could manage. “He would have been the first — and only — major artist that I know of to have taken that on,” Mr. Grimmett said.

Prince was seeking to run things with his LLC. Does anyone think that multiple deals were put in place in the best interest of the estate if Londell was getting a 10% cut? Why can't the estate hire an entertainment law firm to oversee the LLC and continue to run his businesses.

Bingo, LR! The Estate needs a John Eastman or a John Branca - someone at that level, who has been working in the music industry FOR DECADES AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL! The non-excluded heirs have no experience with money at Prince's level. You cannot hire your pal, or your dead brother's ex-lawyer because you know him, to run an international empire. By excluding LM and VJ, the judge is admitting IMO that the estate is out of control and that the siblings are fighting - someone has to interject some sanity into the proceedings.

I am sure the new bank will find compentent lawyers but I am not going to shade Tyka and Omarr if that fool Londell was cutting deals for himself and refusing to explain where the money from the tribute concert is and trying to sell the entire catalogue. I am not going to say they were wrong for not going along with the other sibs who I think just want to cash out.

Omarr and Tyka should just see if the other sibs can be brought out and send on their way.

Did you see this already? So UMG already has the deal to oversee the entire catalog, to include branding and merchandising! I wonder who set this up?

Bravado CEO Speaks on Mon... - Complex

That would have been Londell and Kopplemen's responsiblity. I hope this deal will stand so the estate can get good merchandise out and get rid of the bootlegg stuff. I also hope Londell did not fuck this up with some side deal for himself. Let's hope the deal was directly with the estate and nothing funny was going on.

And she never thought to call the police or 911? Also the ME report doesn't mention the trauma she refers to. In fact I believe the sheriff said there was no sign of trauma. confused

If there was any truth to that, Police surely could confirm that there was a phone call between Prince and Jennifer on the 20th. It seems stupid to claim something that can easily be verified by the authorities... I mean, isn't there a penalty for perjury?

I have an administrative question to ask. Maybe someone reading can answer the question for me. Once the heirs are determined, will the Estate pay them the proceeds from streaming, records, merchandise, etc., periodically? I assume the Estate will remain open for several years to come. Thanks!

Bremer is requesting the Court to unseal the Artist Equity Term Sheet filed by Roc Nation.

They argue there is no reason for it to be sealed.

Roc Nation filed another wordy document stating the request should be denied or in the alternative Roc Nation wants a hearing on the issue of unsealing the document.

No, this was a company that magically formed to help stage the Triubute concert. There was suppose to be an advance to the estate but Jobu backed out and Tyka and Omarr want to know where the money went to and did Londell have a hand in forming Jobu.
