Uhm. Did you mean "..in 20 years"? 2016-1996 = 20. And Londell actually spoke with him the Sunday before his passing. I think they remained in close contact through the years.

I was responding to op who seemed to implying Londell had been around for 30 years. It is interesting you say they spoke recently. Londell appeared on the scence so quickly after P I wondered if he knew something before hand. Jester said:

i appreciate ur sentiment and agree that the will start coming for people HAM style. and i stand by my comment. it doesn't mean LMcM isn't a bully and ahole. boots are not and have never been a big hole in PP's bucket. more like p and his bullshit projects and astronomical overhead. it should have never been a priority. PPE stands to lose tens of millions in revenue bcos P's biggest source of income was touring and he obviously can't anymore. a lot of his catalogue is out of or in limited print. the last 3-4 were digital format. yeah they're pretty fucked for cash. Keeping the estate afloat takes money. Prince even said one of the reasons for touring was because he had payrolls to meet and bills to pay. Where's that money going to come from now? Another reason I say they need to work on getting non-WB stuff on iTunes. Millions of people buy music off iTunes and right now 20+ years of Prince music isn't available there. If it was believe me people would be buying it. If stuff like TGE can go up on Tidal they certainly can get it on iTunes. Paisley Park is in your heart

Though I don't personally condone the bootleg industry, I do think Londell and the estate in general, need to let us know what the plans for the vault are and what unreleased recordings are going to be made available, before asking us to help take down certain sources. [Edited 8/24/16 2:01am] | |

I don't really have a problem with fans trading boots for free, so I hope that doesn't get targeted. I have personally witnessed however, mainstream chain stores carrying bootlegs. Each priced at around £9 a crack. It isn't just the music that is being sold and profited off either- Martin Horment is having his work constantly nicked and put on t-shirts and the like. Due to him working for Prince personally, I would think that substitutes being part of Prince's image so therefore could be dealt with legally by Prince's lawyer. Lots of fans have had their artwork stolen too which is not on either. Just run a search on Ebay for 'Prince t shirt' and you find tons of stores selling stuff with clearly stolen fan artwork on.
So whilst I don't want any fans targeted for trading boots for free, there are certain individuals that are profiting off this. | |

No one is going to stop trading but as you pointed out we are seeing boots in retail outlets the fucking buyesr who work for those chains know they are bootlegs. These people are not fans they are trying to make a quick profit off of his death and I hope they get thrown in fucking jail.
