Other than Tyka & 2 a lesser extent Omarr, In 30yrs I haven't heard anything of the other sibs. Alfred was in hospital, said he hadn't spoke 2 P in 15yrs. He came across as a sweetheart with lots of love 4 P. John's kids, I always got the impression P had nothing 2 do with them.

Agreed...I think he took care of them financially but that was it...he had no other dealings with them. it's easy to see that now.

Erm.

When I said this very thing several weeks ago I got jumped on and many orgers said, "Oh, no...that's not true. Tyka's taking the lead in his affairs.P was closer to his family than he let on."

Yeah, no.

I read an article with Tyka's saying she & P had a childhood pact that if one made it big the other wouldn't "bother" the successful one. Tyka's said he helped her through her addiction/prostitution situation but that "he can't keep yoyo-ing me around" and "spinning me in & out of his life".

There are issues in every family. P's is no different. And money brings out the worst in people. I'm beginning to suspect that he deliberately didn't leave a will so the vultures would be left to scramble over the estate with no direction.

Think about all of the people now capitalizing on being associated with him..I read Mayte just filmed a TV show(guest star)selling out belly dance classes etc..and former band mates are doing major touring.I hope they all make donations to charity. As far as his family..Who knows how close he was with ones that have been silent. We know that he housed his Father until his death..And possibly his Mother and Step Father..It's been written Tyka lives in a property he owned? As far as Mani...IMHO I believe the reason she wanted the divorce to stay sealed was Not to protect Prince but herself..We don't know.

I have heard from a pretty reliable source that Mani walked away with an EXORBITANT divorce settlement. We're talking in the eight-figures range...

Nothing prevents nor prevented anyone from doing such a thing. Why are you making excuses for these suppposed "famous, wealthy people who would've given money to properly memorialize Prince." That did Not happen, b/c no one cared to do that with their fame, money, time, unlimited legal resouces, nor anything else!

You are entitled to your opinions..

I've spent the last few months in a surreal daze over Prince's death..

i've also been comforting one friend of mine every night since April 21

who's genuinely DEPRESSED over Prince's Death..

as in cant sleep ..crying all the time.. unable to concentrate at work.. ect..

For some of us this isn't a game.

Well, at least George Lopez reportedly lent the family $20,000 when P first passed away. That was very nice of him.

Hey MD431MadCat, I hear what you a saying. I have no desire to attack or judge his family - that would not make me feel good. I just wanted to point out if everyone was totally honest, I am certain we would admit that we are pissed off that Prince is no longer here with us. And I am certain all of us would admit we are pissed off in the manner in which he died, and how this whole thing has been handled. Some people state that the family does not owe us fans anything. That statement pisses me off. I don't feel we wanna know every little piece of gossip or info on Prince, we just want to know what the hell happened to make Prince, who was 57 years old, die on April 21st, all alone in an elevator at Paisley Park? Yes, I know I know we have an ME report stating he passed from an accidental OD of Fentanyl. And then we have the statement from Judith Hill on how Prince passed out on the plane after the Atlanta show on April 14th, and how he had to fight hard to come back into his body (so he almost died that night). But this just raises more questions.

+++

Prince fans just want to know what led to Prince's death, we just want answers. We all know it won't change things or bring him back, but it is strange to not know the full story - why all the mystery?

He is gone, and yes he was a private individual but he belonged to the world via his music and the love we shared with him. And we all belonged to him. We were all connected, and now the connection is severed.

+++

Are we stupid and don't deserve to know the truth? Or do they think we cannot handle the truth?Prince is gone. It sux and hurts so bad. I feel we are going on with our lives what else can we do. But we are not forgetting about Prince, we never will. We do deserve answers and the truth. If something happened to dear friend who you loved and grew up with, you would want to know what the hell happened. That is the case here, we just want to know. There is nothing wrong with that.

I understand people feeling hurt that he is gone and heartbroken. I feel the same. But I do NOT feel like his family OWES it to anyone to spill all of P's problems to the world. I will never understand this mentality. I understand being curious no wanting to know, but it is not our RIGHT! If his family feels like sharing, they will. If not, that's their business. No matter what they do people will criticize them. If they let it all out it would be all gasps of disgust and "how could they do that when they know how private he was! They are just doing it for money." They can't win. No matter what. All I know is P doesn't owe me a damn thing. I am not obligated to know his personal life. I can appreciate the wonderful gift he shared with the world, which is his music, and his legacy. In a way, I feel like I owe him. He was a wonderful musician, neighbor, and HUMAN BEING!

I feel like I need to say something, but I just don't know what....

I'm 48 years of age and my shoe size is 7 1/2.

With that in mind I'll do what Prince wanted us to do and leave you all with this:

I'm glad Prince is at peace.

I wish the same for those that truly love him

Family relations are complicated. I am one of seven (3 brothers and 3 sisters all raised together with the same Parents). At times it ain't easy and then other times its just hard. But I love them anyway.....sometimes from afar, but I always Love them.

I wish Tyka strength and peace of mind in a time that has to be incredibly hard.

THIS!!!

And, my two cents worth: I think the family is probably overwhelmed. It is no easy feat to sort out this complex estate. And they let people organise their own memorials in LA etc. which is nice. There have been Prince tributes on TV for the fans.

Organise your own tribute and stop whinging!!

What is it with this sense of entitlement!?!

Sure I would like to know what exactly happened (and my guess it that we will find out one day) but ultimately it doesn't matter because he is not coming back to life. So be sad but life goes on!!

Enjoy the music. There is so so so much beautiful music that he left behind.

The problem I have is: family and friends still try to protect Prince's biggest failure: not opening up to anybody, playing the role of a super human being 24 hours a day. That's exactly what led to his death in the end.

Amen and amen!

I conducted a simple memorial/goodbye privately for myself and I have also enjoyed the tributes that have been offered to and by the public. I'm satisfied and I don't feel a burning desire for an "official" memorial from the family or anyone else, although I plan on enjoying whatever remembrances are coming.

I memorialized P in my heart.

That was plenty for me.

Your mileage may vary.

Assuming the family knows all and has chosen to remain silent, wouldn't you want to protect your brothers privacy? The easy, money grab way would have been to take the road of interviews and full disclosure.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of judgments, assumptions and false reports by the media creating a tangled mess, not only for the family to be looked at unjustly, but also those who care about Prince who aren't family as well.
It's important that the ESTATE generates revenue to pave the way to a lasting legacy. Isn't that what we all want?
I am sure there is a lot of thought going into everything now that the man is no longer here to make them. At times, decisions made might not turn out as they had hoped, other times, everyone will be happy and content that the right decision for his legacy was made.
It is with hope that everyone whom he touched will be proud to see his legacy for generations to come.
