You're right morningsong. The stuff in NY, LA, or out of the county won't matter. As to your *newsflash* IAmBryan; I really hope it doesn't come to that. What has become of EPE and MM and others is absolutely awful. I couldn't stand to see our Prince like that.

clock is ticking...his money is his music and they need to do something with ASAP... if not the US government wont give a shit who Prince is/was...they will want their money... Truthfully othet than us fans...most wont give a shit what is in the vault and they wont pay the bills... Prince's massive catalogue should follow suit like Bruce Springsteen and what he is doing in reissuing his classic albums with unreleased/b-sides/videos/concerts... but they still have to figure out who will run the estate...that's why i think the family will sell his music...take the cash and run! Let it be soeone elses headache!

How the tribute concert can bolster Prince's estate and legacy --

NEW Rolling Stone analysis, Aug 2, 2016:

.

"Former AEG executive (and one-time Prince manager) Randy Phillips and Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich have been contacted about possibly producing the show, which would also be filmed for a network TV special."

http://www.rollingstone.c...rt-w432207

.

It should be a LIVE network special, not filmed for later broadcast (IMO).

.

[Edited 8/2/16 16:19pm]

I hope such a concert would be aired (live!!!) over here in the UK - but I doubt it...Even if it weren't live but just SHOWN that would be wonderful!

.

I am seriously considering a trip to MN... razz

Learn how to discuss without being combative and stop acting like you personally represent the estate and you'll be fine. I'm not the only one complaining about your attitude. You are all over the place randomly pouncing on people like you always do.

-- I am not combative you and others simply don't like what I have to say and some of you post stuff that is just plain absurd.( thank Jesus that none of you are making business decisions for estate )I have managed to not really cuss anyone out and certainly never said anyone needed to get laid (which is ignorant). Ignore my post if you don't like what I have to say but I said from the get go that Bremer would sell off the real estate first so I might know what I am talking about.

I have news for you. This is not a contest and there are no winners so you need to check your ego.

And since you are not being combative STOP harassing me with silly orgnotes.

The court documents uploaded yesterday seem to focus only on the "kooky heirs". (One document lists attorneys in all caps; you can tell the "kooks" because their names are in lower-case.)

Rodney Heratio Dixon has filed an emergency restraint trying to keep Bremer Trust from selling anything. After all, Rodney owns the entire estate (which he claims is worth a billion).

Mr. Dixon really wants his $1 billion. He is willing to have Bremer pay him and walk away.

I would like to see his "documentation" on his agreement with Prince. That would be about as interesting as his filings.

P's family could look into getting PP listed under the National Register for historic perservation. It took Lisa Presley 20 years to get Graceland registered but only because it was a dwelling/house that Elvis lived in whereas P is totally different, his recordings/legacy were created there and I think this should be protected as part of Chanhassen's (sorry if I've spelt it wrong) history. wink

Prince, Paisley Park, and Historic Preservation

To qualify for the National Register, properties must be at least one of the following: (a) associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad patterns of our history; (b) associated with the lives of significant persons; (c) embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction, or represent the work of a master; or possess high artistic values, or represent a significant concentration of resources whose individual components are united historically by function or plan; or (d) have yielded, or may be likely to yield, information important in prehistory or history. In addition, most National Register properties are over fifty years old- the normal cutoff range for places to be considered “historic”.

Properties associated with more recent cultural icons are generally excluded until their legacy has proved enduring, or unless the nominator demonstrates that the property “is of exceptional importance”. Graceland, Elvis’ famously outré estate near Memphis, was listed in the National Register in 1991 and in 2006 was named a National Historic Landmark under this exception. The fifty-six-page nomination focuses substantially on demonstrating the significance of Elvis Presley himself, before recognizing how well Graceland and its furnishings represent his persona: “[s]uch a strong association between a man and his home is unique and unprecedented in the twentieth century.”

I would sell every property but Paisley Park. An issue would be the homes being lived in by any heirs. Then, there has to be the auction of the personal property in "the warehouse." From shoes to stages - if it is still all in one building complex - all of it should be sold. The memorabilia cannot be kept forever. There isn't money to do that, and probably there isn't any desire to do it. I personally would like to buy one pair of his shoe boots with the symbol pull-chain. I once read that there had been water damage to the vault so, if that is true, then PP has to be examined from top to bottom, repaired and/or renovated to bring it up to code, and at that time become a working facility again.

[Edited 8/2/16 4:26am]

.

I disagree. The costumes, stage sets and photography collections must be maintained if Paisley Park is to become a museum.

A museum is not static; they have to mount "events" and change the displays often to keep people coming back.

Don't forget that P's recording studios were state of the art when built but he preferred old-style analog rather than computerized recording. Sure, they can be used but they also need to be maintained "as he wanted them".

.

.

.

Yes, all of his stuff needs to be preserved.

.

But his studio is actually a great mix of classic analog and current digital... I did some system consulting with regard to his ProTools rigs. So, it's state of the art "in the then" and in the now.
