At my local grocery some people had taken the Enquirer mag and turned the cover over backwards or tossed the mag aside in protest. Someone even took a copy of the Enquirer and made a point of placing it on a shelf where all the trash bags were.

GOOD.
"We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Why can't they say? And why so cryptic? They should all feel guilty as hell for not being a better friend. Dang! Guess I'm in the anger phase now..

He was definitely skirting around saying what those problems were.

I'm angry too.

I browsed McMillan's Twitter feed earlier, and even that annoyed me.

https://twitter.com/Londe...illan?s=09

You know, he owns a magazine, and up until a few hours ago had never heard of The Onion. That made me question his capability in any capacity.

Nearly every tweet he's made since Prince's passing, has been about Prince... A man he parted ways with, a decade ago.

If you read that full CNN transcript that I linked to, he actually believes that the Emancipation album was named as a tribute to him.

And... He's hiring staff apparently, so he's evidently expecting more work to come his way soon... I can't imagine what kind of litigious messy work he wants to get his hands on.

I may be way off-base, but he seems like a bit of an under-qualified fame-whore leech.

But I guess I could just be in the "anger stage."

Prince parted ways with many of those who helped make him who he is today once he became a JW. Within the last year or so he had started repairing those old relationships/friendships.

Now that it's been revealed that he sought help (during the days following the Moline plane incident) for his pain med addiction that those who were near (like Larry Graham and all the other JWs) should have been checking up on him daily (if not every 4 hours) but instead they left him alone.

I think his old friends/musicians appear to want to make sure they remember Prince for his talent & music. Those "friends" who joined his life after he became a phenomenon appear to be more focused on Prince's charitable giving legacy.

I wish they wouldn't say pain med addiction. why couldn't they just say accidental overdose from prescription pain meds?

either way, some will only hear od or addiction and think the worst, forgetting the pain part.

I am staying clear of gossip & tabloids, but all the personal accounts, all the stories linking him to charity... that's what I want to hear. The people who have come forth with that information should garner respect, they want Prince remembered for the right reasons. I am especially touched by all the letters that members of Prince's community left at Paisley Park... "Thanks for stopping by our school." "Thanks for donating musical instruments." "Thanks for handing Halloween candy out to our kids." "Thanks for being a great spiritual brother in our congregation." "Thanks for the donation." Etc etc etc rose [Edited 5/4/16 3:35am]

Those are the things I will remember. Those, and his incredible work ethic, his uplifting , positive lyrics, his attitude, his confidence , making it against all odds, the creativity, his donations, his charity work and not even mentioning it.

Regardless of what they are going to find out about him.....as long as he wasn´t involved in murder or sexual abuse of children, I couldn´t care less about drugs, dependence on painkillers and whatnot. That´s none of my business and it´s not like he was taking drugs for recreational use (and even if he did, it wouldn´t change a thing...but it´s sad that they are trying to tarnish his clean reputation).

Here´s a rockstar and incredibly gifted, incredibly hard working, clean and drug free living artist who sacrificed his health and life in order to get where he got, and now he´s in the same category as countless other drug fiends?

I don´t mind people taking drugs...but it´s sad that someone like Prince gets that label and reputation.

I really dig your positive post. I feel the same way.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I think the positive things being said far outweigh any negative stories or rumors. I always knew he would probably be bigger in death.
