Prince was the sanctified Jehova's Witness dude you couldn't even curse around. Now I find out he was a fucking hypocrit and it doesn't sit well with me. I wouldn't say that anywhere else but here, out of love for the man, but it had to be said.

.

But the lesson you took, to stay away from hard drugs, is a really good one. If, later on, he fell short of that, then he just fell short. Life is long, and people lose their way from time to time. It doesn't change the original lesson.

eek eek After I posted this yesterday I found a dead dove on my driveway!!!!when I had visited PP a week ago I had been surrounded by butterflies. And ever since Vanity died Prince's name and address would pop up somewhere in my day...the dead dove freaked me out. Hubby tells me it's Prince telling me to let him go in peace. Hubby is as old as Prince and doesn't have a will despite being very overweight . Why? He doesn't think it's his time yet -he's too young. Says this was probably Prince's philosophy. And that Prince's death was probably an accidental OD which is why they are investigating. Tyka may want to sue as there is probably no liquid assets (cash) in his estate (which is why George Looez lent money) and that Prince probably paid his bills month to month by income generated from local (PP) parties. For inspite of it all, Prince was only human which is why his health may have started to deteriorate when his protege/love Bria (allegedly) got married in 2013 to an Alex Reece. Maybe that's why she married someone else. We will never know. Prince was constantly battling...whether it be epilepsy, sexuality, religion, wives, girlfriends, band mates, the music industry and depression. Maybe he was too tired and since he didn't want to be battling from heaven (trying to make sure people adhere to his wishes) he just left it to his family, friends & church to figure it outshine his fans (us) enjoyed his music freely. RIP Prince. Much love.

the butterflies was Prince, but that dead dove is something else eek You may be right about the PP shows though...he did them about monthly eek

It still has me freaked out!
eek

But yes, the PP shows were monthly and sometimes weekly over the summer months. And I doubt he had much in the stockmarket as most financial advisors would have made him discuss estate planning.

God, I pray Tyka doesn't fall prey to the same mistakes.

Well, I guess as they say, only the good die young. 💜RIP Prince💜

Interesting speculations but.....where are you getting all this from? He had succesful concerts and looked quite happy long after Bria got married. He looked very relaxed with Andy Allo, and I haven´t read anything about him battling depression.

Also, I have my doubts that a few PP parties where people paid 10 or maximum 50 bucks every now and then really helped him pay the bills.

I´m surprised to see Bria mentioned again.

A comparison of his photos from 2013 to 2016 show marked deterioration and more make-up. Plus his personal photographer said he stopped using assistants at concerts to help him dress. And a change in his eyes. He also looked relaxed with Demaris but it's a different kind of energy - more paternal.

I don't think Bria necessarily broke his heart -she apparently was not living up to what he thought her potential was so he started cultivating others. However, something around that time -maybe midlife crisis or depression (which he mentions in interviews dating back to 2006) may have started to bother him more.

PP's monthly electric bill must have been at least $10k - PP parties could foot that; my speculations are based on a 2013 lawsuit fine of $3M (for his failure to advertise a perfume) which he could not readily pay.

Do Americans have more of an issue with Aids than Britain then? For me it wouldn't bother me if he'd passed from that, after all he was a bit of a lad where the girls were concerned.

And at the end of the day the only things that matter are that he has gone, it was too early and it could possibly have been avoided. But then what did he want at the end?

That will make me incredibly sad as well. It always amazed me he was able to dodge that bullet given his activity with the ladies, now I've read at least three different places that he possibly has a son who would be almost an adult by now. I hope this isn't true.

Truth is, it's not really that bad. When a celebrety dies and the cause of death isn't clear, of course people will start speculating. And of course that will be about drugs, because in the public eye, rock music and drugs go hand in hand. But I haven't seen a lot of outrageous stories. Nobody said he was beating up women or having his blood replaced in a Transsylvanian clinic or sleeping in an oxygen tank. By rock & roll standards, there aren't really that many gossip stories surrounding Prince. All in all, he's done a pretty good job of keeping his private life private.

Yep, and I've always found that interesting regarding Prince. We knew of Whitney's problems though I thought a lot of them were exaggerated until she died. Michael always had former employees throwing him under the bus. But Prince never did. His past employees tend to be very quiet.

He said...

"And... Erm... I spoke to him Sunday, and he said that everything was perfect. Er... But apparently he had some... some problems that we now know what led to his passing."

That was at 06:04 a.m. on the day Prince died, so McMillan wouldn't have had time to choose his words more carefully.

The rumor that he had a child I heard a very long time ago. I'm gonna say around 1980,1981. It was before the 1999 and Purple Rain album. In the Right On! magazine days. I think that's when read the rumor.

I can't find the full video, but I found a transcript:

http://transcripts.cnn.co...ay.01.html

What I know about his health is that he said that he was in perfect form. But we know that he was sick after the Atlanta show. And I spoke to him Sunday, and he said that everything was perfect. But apparently, he had some -- some problems that we now know that led to his passing.

PEREIRA: Well, and I wanted to ask you about that. Because no offense to all four of you men, sometimes you're not as forthcoming about your own health.

MCMILLAN: That's right.

PEREIRA: And the women around you love you for it, but it makes us a little bit crazy. Did you get a sense that something seemed off with him at all, or this was a regular conversation with your friend?

MCMILLAN: Well, I didn't get a sense, and I wasn't in a personal meeting. We weren't face to face. So, you know...

PEREIRA: Yes. You didn't lay eyes on him.

MCMILLAN: Right. I didn't lay eyes on him, and -- but, you know, I must say, you're right about men sometimes not being as forthcoming and transparent about their health. But sometimes women aren't either.

[06:05:12] PEREIRA: Fair point. Fair point. Something all of us need to recognize.

MCMILLAN: Take a look and make sure that people really make sure that they're healthy, and they're doing well.

Why can't they say? And why so cryptic? They should all feel guilty as hell for not being a better friend. Dang! Guess I'm in the anger phase now..

But seriously, Prince wanted to teach people to be the best that they could be..he'd want it to be a teachable moment for us all.

And yet all of this screams epilepsy (seizures) as most people (including me) don't reveal it to people. I don't think any of my friends or even family know I had a couple of seizures in the last 5 years. And I had to start taking meds again which made me lose weight...why? Because once people know that's all they ask/wonder about...maybe that's why they are "protecting" his legacy. Whatever it was Tyka seems pretty resigned and accepting of it..

He was definitely skirting around saying what those problems were.

I'm angry too.

I browsed McMillan's Twitter feed earlier, and even that annoyed me.

https://twitter.com/Londe...illan?s=09

You know, he owns a magazine, and up until a few hours ago had never heard of The Onion. That made me question his capability in any capacity.

Nearly every tweet he's made since Prince's passing, has been about Prince... A man he parted ways with, a decade ago.

If you read that full CNN transcript that I linked to, he actually believes that the Emancipation album was named as a tribute to him.

And... He's hiring staff apparently, so he's evidently expecting more work to come his way soon... I can't imagine what kind of litigious messy work he wants to get his hands on.

I may be way off-base, but he seems like a bit of an under-qualified fame-whore leech.

But I guess I could just be in the "anger stage."

In the carver Co sheriff's report of calls they received regarding paisley park over the years there are two separate instances when a woman called asking them to contact PP for her due to an issue with a child they have with Prince? I agree it sounds sketchy but why would someone make that up when it would be so easy to disprove?

All in all I agree the press for the most part since he's passed hasn't been that bad, nor was it when he was, still with us. The sheriff's dept said nice things about him and his staff. He kept a low profile for sure and I guess personally I believed he was too smart and protective of his privacy to be off doing stupid shit that would make the news. He was a good guy and a straight shooter. That's the image I have of him. When my oldest son first suggested to me that he was on drugs I was very angry and defensive. And then as more news came that was drug related I was devastated. Why? Why did they have to get him too? He seemed to smart for that shit. He seemed like he would get the last laugh and not succumb like so many others. I know we still don't know and I hope it's not what it's starting to look like because that just hurts too much. I don't love or admire him any less. It won't change my feelings or opinion about him one bit. But it will make me especially sad. Looking back tho I was shocked by his appearance at an awards show last fall. He looked older and thinner and reminded me in some ways of another famous musician who recently died in his tour bus only a few miles from PP last fall which was not surprisingly related to drugs. Scott Weiland struggled with addiction for a long time deteriorating right before the public's eyes looking thinner and more frail all the time. The way Prince's face had aged and his thinness seemed familiar that way. I blamed it on the afro wink

The National Enquirer issue really sucks. I had someone say to me they saw this in the grocery and it said Prince had AIDS, is it true? That magazine is prominently displayed at every checkout lane in grocery stores all over the country. Imagine how many people see that headline 'Prince had AIDS!' and they assume that story to be true. Funny how the Enquirer's supposed "last photo" of Prince is several years old too. What crap.

.

At my local grocery some people had taken the Enquirer mag and turned the cover over backwards or tossed the mag aside in protest. Someone even took a copy of the Enquirer and made a point of placing it on a shelf where all the trash bags were.

I am staying clear of gossip & tabloids, but all the personal accounts, all the stories linking him to charity... that's what I want to hear. The people who have come forth with that information should garner respect, they want Prince remembered for the right reasons. I am especially touched by all the letters that members of Prince's community left at Paisley Park... "Thanks for stopping by our school." "Thanks for donating musical instruments." "Thanks for handing Halloween candy out to our kids." "Thanks for being a great spiritual brother in our congregation." "Thanks for the donation." Etc etc etc rose
