It was so sudden. I was excited to be able to see him again (20 Feb at The Sydney Opera House) 3rd time I've seen him overall, and I happy reading about the other shows etc and this happens. It totally floored me. The only other experience I can compare this to is when David Bowie died, I bought the new album on his b-day looking forward to interviews, promotions etc and then he was gone. But least you knew what he had died from Cancer.

With Prince, I found out by switching on the radio to a station I normally don't listen to, they played When Doves Cry and I was like "cool they are playing him" and afterward the dj started referring to him in the past tense and said that he had died at home. I came here first and the site was down so I switched on Sky News and it was confirmed. sad Coming here has helped a great deal, it been tough we all want to know what happened to him and want to celebrate his legacy.....and the waiting just hurts because of the bullshit that always follows a high profile case.

OK NOW WAIT A MINUTE!

Has anyone seen this article where the "family" states that all reports of his body being cremated, and a funeral service having taken place are untrue???

So does this mean that his body is still intact? Did I totally imagine that detauiled article Sheila E was quoted in describing the funeral, and cremation in detail?... at this point I believe absolutely nothing.

Rolling Stone article is a little clearer and more reliable. Doesn't mention the family stating his cremation was a lie.

"Memorial in near future" Now when is the near future again?

Perhaps other reports have been gossip but the "near" future is something we've been hearing for a while now. wall

So then what's with the pics of Tyka and her son at the funeral home, carrying what was supposedly Prince's ashes under the coat?

I just read this but not sure if it accurate:

An email obtained by 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS details plans concerning a funeral for Prince this weekend.

According to the email sent by Sebenaler on Tuesday to police staff, the funeral is scheduled to take place at the church at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday

The email states that the event is to be private and is invite only.

The police department is expecting 300-500 guests, according to the email.

The police chief’s email states that 30-50 of the guests are considered “high profile”.

Strange... such a shrewed business man who loathe the thought of his music , artifacts, name and likeness being used as anyone sees fit, to not have a will in place. Has anyone every thought that the few who may have known (family) hid/destroyed the will? He took on WB, Ebay, Pirate Bay, Youtube, for the same exact reasons but never prepared a will? Some more due diligence is in order. Things are moving too fast.

Given how private Prince was and how seriously Kingdom Hall takes the focus of worship of Jehovah during ceremonies, I hope most people respect and honor Prince's memory for his chosen faith and not sensationalize his funeral-TMZ and tabloids are a given that they won't. Although, I disagree with many tenets of the faith itself, Prince found comfort in the faith and I respect his commitment to it during his life because I know the amount of missionary work from proselytizing and bible study required to be on and given his nature as a celebrity had to have been challenging. After Sunday, it will be final acceptance that Prince Rogers Nelson made his transition from Earth to the afterlife.

Sorry if this has already been posted but I just read this on Tyka Nelson's Facebook page posted 5 hours ago....I really feel for her & her family....

"Hi Y'all,

U know I only come on here when I have sumthin' ta say...So Let me make myself VERY CLEAR! I nor my brother's remains will be present at any Memorial or Funeral services, until the families Memorial/Funeral/Tribute.

Please Don't misunderstand...The grief process is a unique experience to each individual and Therefore I support any and all Memorials or Funerals that have happened and/or are being planned...However I will Not be in attendance, because I feel that once…is enough.

My brother was a Very Private man and so a Funeral had been planned for Saturday April 23rd. But on the evening of Friday April 22nd while we were in the process of inviting a small group of family and friends, those Funeral plans had to be sadly aborted. With the help of the Paisley Park staff (because some friends had already flown into town) we held an intimate gathering due to that cancelation, however it was Not a Funeral.

Also because there are reports floating around…I unfortunately want to address this issue:

To my knowledge…No One in my family has fought about anything, and least of all me…but I must admit I think it's funny that I’m the one they say, "Stormed out..." or that “We are at war” Me? Us? “Really? Where was I when all that happened?”

Matthew 12:25 says that "Every city or household divided against itself will Not Stand. "and because All of US were raised in the cherch, we know This All 2 Well...so Please don’t believe everything u read or get it twisted...We will…“Let Patience Have Its Perfect Work” James 1:4…and remain United!

So with All of that being said…

Once again I AM Releasing this statement for Those of U Who Would like to Celebrate Our Prince together with his family and have the opportunity to say farewell...
“We would like everyone to know that, contrary to previous and current reports, there has been no memorial, funeral or tribute service for Prince that was organized or authorized by the family or Paisley Park representatives. Together, the family is planning an official memorial service and public event to take place in the near future. Prince and his music influenced so many people that we feel inspired to celebrate his life and legacy in just the right way. We appreciate the public’s patience and have been comforted by your outpouring of love, support and condolences. We look forward to sharing with the world this celebration of, and farewell to, our Prince. Details will be coming soon.”

Update: The proposed plan is to have our Memorial/Funeral/Tribute in August more updates soon...

To GOD Be The Glory!

At least there's no drama about the various memorials according to Tyka. Hopefully this will put some fans at ease.

And hopefully there truly isn't any in-fighting within the family.

I truly do hope that the family appoints someone knowledgeable and capable to handle the business side of his estate. I know the Jacksons aren't happy with John Branca and the guys running MJ's estate but I think most people have to agree that they've all done a fine job thus far. Hopefully Prince will have representatives just as savvy.
