eek How do you dare, for me is "17 Days" is jusat meh to me.

No way! What don't you like about 17 Days? It's one of my favorite songs by anyone, ever! I don't like the song D.M.S.R. for some reason. I don't hate it, it's a song I don't get, yet.

The melody, i do not find anything great, it just doesn't grab me.

Many songs on SOTT, too many infact to be considered a Prince fan really. You wan't too start a lynch mob? Let's just say that The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker isn't my cup of tea. On the other hand. SOTT is his best album. Why? Try doing that Janet, MJ, Madonna, Bruce, George Michael in your artistic peak. Oh, it's so wierdly timeless that no other album has even come close before or since.

The following I can enjoy but don't really find worthy of the high praise they usually get:

Adore

Vicki Waiting

When You Were Mine

Controversy

I Wish U Heaven

Papa

In This Bed I Scream

Love Thy Will Be Done

Way Back Home

Same December

Then there's Little Red Corvette... This one I just can't enjoy, sorry. Same for Right Back Here in my Arms.

The there's Pussy Control... Unbearable.

When u were mine is a classic song..
Prince could really do no wrong from
1980 to 88..
From his B-sides to unreleased songs..
I was never a huge fan of Horny Toad or Scarlett Pussy..
But otherwise, Prince was at such a high level musically back in
That time period.

Life Can Be So Nice. Jus clatter, not much song to grab at.

Sometimes It Snows In April. I have to be in a certain mood, but it's not great.

Shame on the folks who dissed Moonbeam, Adore and Scandalous. Masterpieces in space and time.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Erotic City.

Lemme 'splain! lol

I don't dislike it - I just think it's... 'fine'. I hear people calling this one the ultimate dancefloor workout of all time and, I'm just not there. It's a good song, but I just find it a bit monotonous for eight whole minutes. Put it next to DMSR and there's no contest, in my opinion. cool

Kick away, folks! razz

Erotic City is much, much more wellknown and more popular than DMSR. I mean, I love DMSR but come on, Erotic City was THE jam in the clubs back then, more so than DMSR. And in my opinion it sounds much more unique, much weirder and more interesting than DMSR, which is funky but in a much more familiar way.

Sure, Erotic City does sound a bit like Prince was inspired by Laid Back´s White Horse, and it has traces of George Clinton here and there but ....hey....Erotic City! lol

-

That rhythm guitar at the very beginning.....that bassline........just the right amount of singing by Sheila E.....Prince´s deep voice during those first seconds. The nursery rhyme-like cadence, those wonderful keyboard melodies.

DMSR is a great and slamming song but Erotic City has so much going on.

And it had that wonderfully long title and that weird picture with Prince on that metal bed with that pink background.

Great cover, great song, great lyrics and music.

I hate the 12" version of "I wish U heaven". A bunch of silly nonsense that does nothing to enhance the beautiful album track.

I also hate the 12" version of "America". Just too dang long.

Not a big fan of "She's always in my hair". It's not horrible but I don't find it as good as most do.

On the other hand I LOVE "The arms of Orion" and "Free" which seem to get a lot of hate here LOL!

You're not alone...on any of those things!

I'll join you both in sharing these "unpopular" opinions. Although since i don't like the main I Wish U... that much, the extended version is at least funny.

I NEVER liked Adore. even to this day. Brilliant album but I consider this the worst song. probably why it was never released as a single. too sappy and overbearing. I think he recorded it and mixed it in one day and didn't put enough time into it. If he would have slept on it a few nights maybe he would've arranged it better. songs he spent more time on like Housequake usually end up being masterpieces

No disrespect to anyone...but what type of chemical imbalance do you have to have, to not like "Housequake"?...it would seem that you would have to be totally devoid of funk, to not like it...ive heard it hundreds of times over the years and i still cant be still

What kind of immaturity does one have to have not to realize that tastes differ? Adults don't say "no disrespect" and then proceed to say something disrespectful and childish. lol
