This reminds me, who remembers the track called "The Divine" that Prince mentioned around the time of Lotusflower? I believe he said that it was too mind-blowing to ever release. Well, I'd to take the chance of having my mind blown!

I hate when Prince says things like that biggrin I recall,in the late 90s,he mentioned a big album he was working on called The Dawn, but he implied that it was too much for the world to handle (or something to that effect).

Please,Prince....let US be the judge of that!! pray Stop holding back all of that 'amazing' music!! lol

Yeah, I don't know the logic behind that thinking. Why wouldn't he want the world to hear his best music (at least according to him)???

I very much want to hear it. We don't know much about what is in the vault from the 90's onwards. That's intriguing.
The wooh is on the one!

I definitely want to hear it. For me, his output has been hit or miss in the last 20 years, but there has defintely been enough good stuff to maintain my interest.

Just after the release of LotusFlower I read an interview with Michael B about a sinlge session with Sonny T and Prince where most of the album was recorded. I want a "LotusFlower - The Complete Sessions" disc set.

Not that long ago, I would have been all over HIt 'n Run. I haven't even listened to it yet or looked for it when I was in Wal mart. So I'm not sure of my interest level right now on " the vault". Thinking low.

I wonder if the ship has sailed with other fans as well. There was a time when i would n't have bought it and wouldn't have thought twice about the price.

Prince '81

Totally agree. I do think the ship sailed on some of us former disciples
My world revolved around Prince's music for so long
But besides the quality just not being there (for me), too much BS is involved
With him. No internet, no cursing, suing his fans, lotus flower $77 for site that sucked and closed down, the I don't support gay people stuff
It's all just too much
If the music blew me away- maybe I could
Deal
With it.
But it's feeling like it's kinda over

Absolutely. The late 2005 - 2006 session that gave rise to 3121 and Lotusflower would be great to hear.

Yes.

There's so many unreleased tracks that we've heard from all eras that I've ended up liking as much, if not MORE than all the officially released tracks that I'm willing to listen to pretty much anything he's got laying around. Also, I think at this point it's safe to say that he's not always the best judge of his own material. When he decides to release material he gets it right a lot of the time, but a good portion of the time he doesn't. There's got to be tracks from every album that would make some of us go "now why in the world did he release *insert whatever song here* instead of this?!" Not to mention projects both rumored and unknown that remeain unreleased in their entirety. Lastly, although some people always find it impossible to believe, some of us actually like a lot the material he's released since 1995. And I don't mean the "omg everything Prince has ever released is perfect!" crowd. I mean objectively, with an understanding that a lot of it is not on the same level with his absolute best work, there are still songs and/or albums post 1995 that some of us really like (I still think Musicology is a great album and give absolutely no fucks whether or not anybody agrees with me... most of The Rainbow Children, too). So...

Yes.

not sure what makes me a Prince snob...because my opinion is that the quality of his music has declined dramatically in that last 20 years...which is true... and most music that didnt make the cut was put in the vault...it would be in lesser quality and musical appeal...

First of all, no. That's your opinion and not everyone is going to share it. Have you ever considered that some people weren't even listening to Prince 20 or more years ago?

Second... how long you been listening to Prince mang? Because that last bit is just like, nah bruh. Nah.

Rebeljuice

Here we are, his fans, banging on at him to release the vault when Prince is thinking you already have half of it on bootlegs you mother furthas, all that music that I was letting simmer and mature for use in the future is gone. Dead and buried because it leaked and now youve heard it. Its mystery and magic stolen away. I had years and years of material lined up for future use and its dead and buried! Rave? NPS? Emancipation? Planet Earth? Think how good they could have been if I had all those great songs to choose from!.... Holy ducking ship! They could have been masterpeices!.... And the stuff you didnt get your grimey, shippy hands on that you have never heard? I AM releasing it you sick ducks!.... I release it all the time! You can hear it on the albums I release, you just dont know what is from the vault and what is new. THATS whats in the vault! Stuff that is unfinished or waiting for an album suited to it. Thats what the vault is for Gosh Darn It! You will get it ALL eventually, just let these songs breathe and find a home! Ducking Bell, you fans like to break my testacles...

let's keep real folks...musically, Prince music has not been all that great, declining sales, limited radio play, no videos and his continuing "dicking" of his fans... his albums since TGE have been for the most part weak...so any music that he's put in the vault since then I would only guess would be of the same caliber...

Prince needs to digitize his music in the vault...put in a cataloge and follow an Itunes method of getting to the fans and knock off this dumb shit Tidal...let his fans pick whatever he's recorded...fans get what they want and the purple prick gets paid. done and done.

This dishonest sentence (in bold) has been overused, implies dishonesty and isn't allowed on the org anymore, sorry.

And this is anyway the weekly Prince is over and done thread in a lame attempt of disguise

I say troll + lockdance

Thx.

Would love to hear "Streets Of Panama" and the studio version of "Prince & the Band" from 2004-2006.

Also "The Divine" and "What should B Souled" from 1999.

^^ Which is a pity because if it had been phrased honestly (i.e. as an open question, not as a disguised attempt to create a Prince is over and done thread), the subject of post-1995 vault tracks and how the fans are interested in them or not is a very good thread topic, one I'd have been happy to take part in.

It's a pity to see a potentially good debate ruined by trolling practices sad

It would certainly be interesting to see what he chose not to put on an album. When for ever toe-curling EDM track that found it's way to daylight there might be a lush heart-breaking piano ballad or a simple acoustic number withering away in a dark corner of PP.

The studio of Prince & The Band is on one of the boots from one of the Indigo2 shows from 21 nights in London. Can't remember which one but it was played over the PA, so no the best boot but pretty good. I can't remember which one it's on though and can't check because I am at work.

If you think a thread is nonsense, then don't reply.
As for the vault, I think Rebeljuice hit the ducking nail on the head. Prince has said a few times that he regards the stuff in the vault as unfinished. I think all his albums have songs on them that had been lying around for years until he found the right album for them. So if you look at it from that perspective, he is releasing stuff from the vault all the time.

I would love to hear what a completed Lust U Always track sounds like.
But I don't think the 80s music all sounds like the 80s

I'm listening the Flesh sessions now

I want more stuff made in the 1980-81 and 1985-86 period
I don't think he did much more in the 1987 period, but if he did I would love to hear it

I want ATWIAD specific outtakes
