Most of the haterz on the org are just middle aged people that are too nostalgic of the Prince from the 80's.

It's funny how you guys are getting so riled up about other peoples opinions. If you like it, then why should it concern you if others don't? BTW, i'm 20 years old, own ALL of Prince's albums, and judging on what i've heard so far i'm not feeling the tracks, so i'm guessing your description of the term "hater" (something a teen would say) doesn't apply...

Back on topic: Will listen to on day 1, if I like it, will wait for physical release and buy (hopefully there's a vinyl release cool )

One thing is not liking something, which is fair enough, I'm all for different tastes. Another one is just being a hater. And if you reason like that, I don't see you as a hater only because you don't like this new album. I think the difference is clear.

The haterz invasion starts tomorrow. This album is going to give them so much to complain about...let me grab some popcorn and watch the usual suspects go bananas...

It won't be that interesting as it always boils down to one of the five reactions below::

"As expected, Prince delivers another cringe-worthy excuse for an album...or should I say he hired someone to make slightly better bullshit than he can manage to do himself these days?"

"I'm not going to buy it because I don't like his post-Lovesexy output and I'll stumble on a bit Torrent source soon OR if I can get it as a physical CD later, I won't even unseal it and keep it to sell to some desperate soul in a couple of years."

"JHC I just listened to it on Tidal/thanks to the generosity of a good friend and this sounds like roboticized Prince music for the eventual 3d Prince hologram Prince will be using in a couple of years instead of giving live concerts."

"My heartfelt admiration goes to those courageous fans that went and subjected themselves to this record to give us an idea of what lurks in its entrails so that the rest of us may be spared."

"Further proof that Prince is a lazy has-been that only cares about making money. And now you can't even say he makes nice coasters."

[Edited 9/6/15 6:19am]

Exactly. You should also add something around sales/promotion etc.

P.s. they already started biggrin http://prince.org/msg/7/418584

Glad we don't have to join Tidal and a physical release will come soon. But this will be the first Prince album that I can wait for. No offense to him and Josh but they may as well be some independent Christian rock/r&b artists that nobody ever heard of. They seem to be having a great time though so at then end of the day that is all that matters really.

I keep hearing this christian thing and it's weird because they haven't done anything 'christian' sounding at all. Nothing even remotely close to the Larry Graham collabs and he didn't even mention anything about Jesus on AOA at all in fact. It's weird that people here seem to despise christians and yet some of the most prolific musicians and music has come from christians so being christian doesn't kill or curb creativity. The other point is that Josh and Prince haven't addressed Jesus or produced preachy christian rock or RNB songs so it's either people being biased against christians, biased against Joshua himself or both because the evidence in the music is contrary to this sentiment of Pince and Josh being 'christian' rock and RNB. Josh doesn't produce for 3rdeyegirl anyway. I'm not ranting just confused because some of the best musicans come from church and honed their skills in church and yet being christian is supposedly some ball and chain to creativity. Strange very strange.

Although it has changed several times both FNAC and Amazon France sites have stabilized on the 25th, which is the first date that makes sense given that it's a Friday, the new standard day for music releases.

http://musique.fnac.com/a...e-CD-album

http://www.amazon.fr/Hit-...7CJZV2J0V4

Also, this blog by a music promoter mentions a digital retail release on the 25th as well:

http://www.josepvinaixa.c...e-hitnrun/

Following the TIDAL debut I expect we'll get more info and perhaps news of a US release in a few days to let TIDAL milk the exclusive.

I am excited and joined for the free trial yesterday.

First thing I did was listen to ultra-familiar music like Kind of Blue, British electro-pop from the Eighties, a little Cowboy Junkies, preferably remastered versions of anything familiar to my ears and I have to say the sound is really good and the selection is decent.

My only problem is that it is expensive. I don't spend $30 a month on music, I buy like one album every two months, I already have tons of CDs so it takes something speciall to catch my attention. If I had the same buying habits I had 10 years ago I'd probably go for it as the sound seems really close to that of a CD.

I might stay until all the "phases" are available, as I suspect he'll have that streaming-first model for the others and I really enjoy what Tidal has to offer anyway though if I end up liking streakming that much, I would try to pick something less expensive though that would destroy my feeling that I'm hearing CD-quality audio.

I'm in a very similar spot, Aerogram.

I have some obnoxious amounts of music (like 4000 albums worth of jerkiness). Perhaps I needed a 12-step program at one time.

And of course it takes a lot more to move me now. Not that I don't appreciate tons of things, but the commitment to buy is a bar that is now often set ridiculously high (outside of favorites artists that I get most things from).

For streaming now I have free Spotify (add supported), Apple Music (love their professionally curated playlists), and now Tidal.

That's eventually going to be about $23 per month. For years I spent more than that quite often on one double CD anthology. Now I have instant access in my pocket to almost all recorded music (over 40 million songs) and can try a lot more new stuff without the fear of only liking the one song that got me there. (The part about this being unfair to the artists will all be worked out in time. Incredibly complex issue that goes way beyond what I currently know.)

Seeing how things have evolved I don't regret my passion for music and my massive spending one bit. Telling my young self to just wait on spending those untold thousands because in 20 years I'll be able to go wild over it all for a tiny fraction of that would miss untold experiences and enjoyment.

West Coast, like Somerset? I'm in the UK, so the west coast gets it the same time as the east coast. wink

But my cheekiness aside, I assume you are saying they release at midnight USA Central time? I think that's 6 hours behind UK, so we'll see it here about 6am. I guess I won't wait up and will grab it in the morning for listening on the way to work. Thanks for the info. cool

This could b us remix aside, I'm actually finding myself looking forward to the album more and more. It could be great, could be crap but I'll reserve judgement until I hear it. My expectations are that I'll like some songs, and I'll dislike others. I like what I've heard so far aside from the this could b us remix, which I think is the worst, or one of the worst, songs I've ever heard prince do. Rita Ora's presence doesn't fill me with much confidence either but like I said, I'll reserve judgement until tomorrow. . Only a few more hours to go.
