Don't sweat it. Whenever someone has an opinion, you can guarantee someone else has their own. You sound passionate and honest about your opinion and have been respectful to all involved. Its all good. No worries.

Is it even an even more far removed analogy than an intelligent green jellyfish on the otherside of the Universe who only speaks a rural dialiect of Korean?

Claiming that Koreans have distinctively differeent dialects in, particularly in rural areas, is rather arbitrary.

Also, jellyfish don't really act on intelligence so much, as they rely upon natural organ impulses.

How do you know what jellyfish from the other side of the Universe can and cannot do?! They may very well be vastly different from their Terran cousins for all we know.

I bet they like Planet Earth though.

In a way that makes it even more disappointing.

Here's a chance to get your music into the hands of people who (in general) assume you disappeared in the 80's & you leave them with a collection that says 'Well, you haven't missed much.'

Kind of absurd if the dude can't respond to people in his own thread. You like the album. Bully for you. Let the rest discuss the reasons it sucks. 2 posts on a subject 2 minutes apart do not a 'bump' make. Especially when the 'era praise' threads consist of 1000 posts in a row quoted from princevault with no room for conversation.

Thread Bump:

In online forums and other online discussion spaces bump is the word used to describe an action (e.g. a message post) so that a particular thread is returned to the top in the list of threads. Some users may even post a message with only the word "bump" to indicate they are posting only to bump the thread to the top of the list where more users will see it.

Let's stay on topic. Future Baby Mama is the only kind of o.k. track. I remember thinking it was a cool sound at the time.

Dont catch fire if you cant spread flames. This response is laughable. "Most of the posts are just personal attacks now." How ironic.

I believe ur confusing me with someone else. Since when do I always post negatively about the org??

I just posted my disdain for the Planet Earth album that was all.

Well 3121 remains one of my favorites so when I heard that another album was coming out.I thought to myself maybe the new album will be just as good,if not better .I was shocked when I heard Planet Earth .its not a terrible album at all but it just doesn't flow well. "guitar","lion of Judah"and "Chelsea Rodgers "are my favorite tracks . also,PE is a lot better than 20ten

Natural selection would not allow a feeble-bodied Cnidaria like a jellyfish to have such intelligence. Even with their fatuous relationship to their Terran cousins.

A short breakdown of the tracks:

1. Planet Earth - A failed attempt of trying to sound like the Crystal Ball intro, and just gets strange... Then boring.

2. Guitar - The intro was the only thing that gave any life to this WHOLE album. Nothing special, vocals and lyrics very weak, guitar playing we've heard it all before... Thank God for DREAMER a couple years later.

3. Somewhere Here on Earth - The song that everyone will say is AMAZING... It's a nice song, starts to get a bit corny at the end... Nothing new, nothing special. It's good because it's on a BAD album. If this song was on Lotusflow3r or 3121 or 20Ten it would be forgotten.

4. The One U Wanna C - Such a corny song. So cliche, like a circus song... Sounds like a bad Vegas song from the 1960's.

5. Future Baby Mama - Can't believe this actually won a Grammy... Out of all the R&B songs Prince made this song won a Grammy?? Must've been nothing good released that year... This song Prince has done over and over again, as a matter of fact if you played the last slow songs on Musicology and 3121... They sound all the same.

6. Mr. Goodnight- So boring don't even remember what it sounds like anymore...

7. All The Midnights In The World - I think he sang the whole song in those opening 5 seconds... Another boring song.

8. Chelsea Rodgers - I'll admit, when I first listened to this it had a little energy, at least to dance to... Nothing more. Not a strong song, just vibrant on a bland album.

9. Lion of Juadh - Zzzzzzzzzzz

10. Resolution - Wake me up when this whole album is over.

My rating is a 2/4 Stars just for the intro of guitar and Somewhere Here on Earth. As an album as a WHOLE... The most dull Prince album ever recorded. For those saying AOA sounds plastic... Then Planet Earth is mold.

This is an album for those mid age house wifes that enjoy opening the windows on a spring day doing some chores and cleaning. Nothing memorable to stop to sing and dance, only to listen as background music to pass the time, and never have the craving to willingly pull this album out and play it again.

Planet Earth is one of the worst in Prince's canon. It followed 3121 in order of albums, but moreso it was released shortly after the stellar Super Bowl performance. NONE of that energy from the Super Bowl is present on this album.

.

If this was released in the 90's, it would've had "Contractual Obligation: Originally Intended For Private Use Only" stamped on it.

Well, except for the last 2 songs I really like Planet Earth. It's got variety, quaility, energy and tenderness. To rank it as his worst is quite laughable, really. You seriously think 20Ten and Xpectation and N.E.W.S are better albums?

Well I learned my lesson. I won't express my opinion anymore for an album I don't like. Maybe I was too extreme with the way I worded it.

Apparently because I don't think Planet Earth is a good album I'm accused of boosting posts, other's opinion counts more than mine, I haven't gone through enough life experiences, I'm out of touch, don't have a life and I'm unintelligble...

Wow the ORG is harsh. I guess Planet Earth is a genius masterpiece album. I'll admit defeat.

.

no, dear, just acquire a sense of humor and apply it to this thread. no 'personal attacks' have been leveled at you by me. my comment above was a joke and i thought you would be able to see that.

.

and, if you have the moxie to stand up in here and announce that 'planet earth is the worst' you also need to brace yourself for some feedback from the people who love the album.

.

now, speaking of 'personal attacks' how do you feel your post stands up, compared to the reactions of those who read what you wrote? take another look at what you posted dear....

Planet Earth Is The Worst!

I'm an anti Planet Earth advocate. Personally I believe this is his worst album due to one simple fact... It feel's like the blandest and most boring album he's ever made. There is nothing that stands out about this album except the first 5 seconds of Guitar.

Many people will argue, but Somewhere Here on Earth is to die for... It's an ok song on a terrible album, nothing more. Besides in this digital age, who really pages people anyway?? lol

There have been many many bad Prince albums, but they always had an element or at least a song or two that I could re listen to over and over... This was the FIRST Prince album I bought that when I listend to the whole album, there was not one stand out track that got my attention.

Not only do I really hate this album, it is one of the most forgetable Prince albums. Even the bad albums like MPLS, NPS, Rave, we remember they are bad... But Planet Earth is so dull, so bland, so boring, that we don't even remember it's that bad...

I'm an anti Planet Earth advocate... Because... It was the first Prince album that I completely forgot about over time

For someone who has completely forgotten about this album you sure talk an awful lot about it.

It's not my favorite album but it's certainly not his worst imo.

There's only two tracks I don't care for: FBM & Mr. Goodnight. I enjoyed the rest of the album.

Stand out trax to me are: Planet Earth, The One U Wanna C, Chelsea Rogers & Lion of Judah The rest are kind of filler, but not horrible to me.

Planet Earth is not a good album.

The entire concept of the album falls appart after the first song. There are a few nice songs, "Guitar" is a fun throwaway rocker, "Somewhere here on earth" isn't terrible... a few others.

As bad as Planet Earth is, it's not a patch on 20Ten. That album is pure drivel.

Planet Earth might be one of the worst albums ever made by anybody, not just by Prince.

What makes it even worse, is that it's not aggressively terrible, i.e., it doesn't try to achieve something and fail, it simply thinks that existing in enough to gain credit. It can't even be BOTHERED to be really bad.

Every now and again I think maybe I've been too harsh on it, like it can't be that bad, and every time I put in on I'm left gasping for air, having been averaged almost to death by it.

And it leaves a funny smell in the room.

Funniest review, it's almost how I feel.

For one thing, it's unusual to start an album with a huge Save the Planet anthem/ballad. It's like opening a door and be immediately asked to be incredibly emotional right away. It's emtionally unsustainable for me to do so, I need something to draw me in before I'm ready to let my heart swell.

As an album, it's a fail from the start and since Planet Earth (the song) is anything but quickly over, it's a bigger deal than if you, say, don't like Art Official Cage or My Name is Prince.

For me it was just about the worst year for Prince to do something like that, guess I acknowledge my views are highly influenced by the mood I was in... but not that much.

I agree, maybe I said it too harshly that's why I got so much backlash. I feel many people here judge an ALBUM just based on each song, rather than as a whole. Yes there are some good songs, great songs and bad songs on every Prince album... This album just doesn't interest me as a whole. It probably was the first real Prince album to bore me.
