Yeah, quit posting post after post just to 'bump' your thread.

Let others have a chance to give their opinions. Or it might get the lock - Thanks.

Actually it was never my intention to BUMP my thread. I've been making quite a lot of threads here on the ORG never once have I tried to BUMP my thread.

We all know who likes to bump their threads here on the Org, but then again they are on "your level"...

I'm an anti Planet Earth advocate. Personally I believe this is his worst album due to one simple fact... It feel's like the blandest and most boring album he's ever made. There is nothing that stands out about this album except the first 5 seconds of Guitar.

Many people will argue, but Somewhere Here on Earth is to die for... It's an ok song on a terrible album, nothing more. Besides in this digital age, who really pages people anyway?? lol

There have been many many bad Prince albums, but they always had an element or at least a song or two that I could re listen to over and over... This was the FIRST Prince album I bought that when I listend to the whole album, there was not one stand out track that got my attention.

Not only do I really hate this album, it is one of the most forgetable Prince albums. Even the bad albums like MPLS, NPS, Rave, we remember they are bad... But Planet Earth is so dull, so bland, so boring, that we don't even remember it's that bad...

I'm an anti Planet Earth advocate... Because... It was the first Prince album that I completely forgot about over time.

This album ranks in the top 5, as a collective its one of his best works. Its a mature album, very well written with much substance. Anyone who is sophomoric and out of touch wouldnt enjoy it which explains why you wouldnt FeeeelUp. Maybe you'll like it when you get a life kiddo.

LOL ur funny. Because I don't like this album I don't have a life? lol Strange ppl here...

Even stranger you say it ranks TOP 5... That means it's on the same level as 1999, Purple Rain, SOTT, Parade... Ooooookkk.

For me, the album starts strongly, then fades away with "All The Midnights", "Lion Of Judah" and "Resolution" as three of the last four tracks.

I never understood the hate for this album, and I'm sure it impacted Prince.

1. Planet Earth - Incredible and epic... the guitar and scream at around 5 minutes in are astounding.

2. Guitar - Cool layed back rocker.

3. Somewhere Here on Earth - Beautiful song.

4. The One U Wanna C - Didn't like it too much when I first heard it, but then grew and grew on me.

5. Future Baby Mama - Decent slow jam...

6. Mr. Goodnight- Terrible. Shouldn't have been on the album.

7. All The Midnights In The World - LOVE this. Classic.

8. Chelsea Rodgers - Straight up slammin'. The combo of drums, bass guitar, and guitar is funky as all get out.

9. Lion of Judah - LOVE this. Great song, killer guitar, vocals, and lyrics. Classic.

10. Resolution - Beautiful song, and great way to end the album. Great lyrics, perfect music.

oh did you think it meant that? You misunderstood completely biggrin

Once you go through life experiences each album takes on a newness where you can relate to songs in a way you havent before, thats the beauty about music especially that which stands the test of time. If you still feel the same way about songs on this album as you did 8 years ago maybe you havent experienced enough.

Overall I am not a big fan of this album either.

HOWEVER, Somewhere Here on Earth, Chelsea Rodgers, and The One U Wanna C are amoung my fave newer songs from the guy. For those choice cuts its far from his worst album.

For me, that spot would be 20ten.

I think 20Ten is much better than PE.

This is an okay album. I added a few of its tracks to my "essential Prince" playlist.

.

To me, the blandest Prince album of all is "Musicology". I listened to it once, and never went back. Not even the title track. The only P album I don't have any tracks from in my playlist.

Same here. I really like PE. I've always thought The One U Wanna C could have been a cool crossover country song. It seems to walk that line. And for some unexplainable reason Mr. Goodnight is one of my guilty pleasures. Please don't judge. lol boxed

The only takeaways for me from this record are Planet Earth and The One U Wanna C. Planet Earth is great IMO(aside from that bubbly section people say sound like manilow...I wouldn't know). This song gets me involved emotionally regardless of it religious or spiritual foundations. I'm an Athiest and it still works for me...logically and emotionally.

The 1 U Wanna See is sooooo fun to me. The music is fun, the lyrics are fun...tongue in cheek. I love the 'nickel lookin' for a dime' bit....the shaved legs...blind fisherman... It's just fun and the fun in this song has yet to fade for me. I don't see it happening either. Go grab a bass guitar and play along. Then tell me the song ain't fun. I used to have a BLAST playing along with it. It never lasted long enuff. Some songs are just fun to play and suck u in....this one does that to me.

As for the rest of the record....B-L-E-H. Mr. Goodnight? Future baby mama? Resolution?....etc...ESPICIALLY somewhere here on earth. B-L-E-H. The artificial record hiss-snaps-and-pops included even more so than the music. Guitar miiiight work for me if it wasn't missing something...or something...I might appreciate it more if it was on a better record? I don't know...I can't peg it...but me no like.

1. Planet Earth - Some beautiful moments but too cheesy at times for my taste

2. Guitar - Loved it from day 1 with the demo, love that version too, it ROCKS and I'm just too happy I've seen it live in 2010

3. Somewhere Here on Earth - Hard to resist, nothing special to it but just irresistible

4. The One U Wanna C - Hated it at first, then when I saw the video for the first time on LF.com I rediscovered it and it grew on me, now I find it funny and nice

5. Future Baby Mama - I'll never understand the hate for that one, I'm madly in love with it, it embodies everything I love about Prince, and back to back with Mr.G it's even better biggrin

6. Mr. Goodnight- I'll never understand the hate for that one, I'm madly in love with it, it embodies everything I love about Prince, and back to back with FBM it's even better biggrin

7. All The Midnights In The World - I still can't stand it, like P trying to be some obscure California rock act

8. Chelsea Rodgers - Not a personal favorite of mine but I have to admit it grooves to death and I remember every non-Prince fan/mainstream music listener I knew at the time loving it at the time, and also it doesn't sound straight like a Prince tune, which is rare enough in P's world to be noted... With proper promo it could and should have been a major hit

9. Lion of Judah - I still can't stand it, like P trying to be some obscure California rock act

10. Resolution - I still can't stand it, like P trying to be some obscure California rock act

Note how I do not confuse my personal taste with an objective statement nod

Claiming that Koreans have distinctively differeent dialects in, particularly in rural areas, is rather arbitrary.

Also, jellyfish don't really act on intelligence so much, as they rely upon natural organ impulses.

ha! confused your opinion is SO wrong. no, don't argue - it just is. nuh uh, nope. talk to the hand don't bother trying to convince me because i know my opinion is more right than your opinion. chelsea rogers.... some of his funkiest music I heard in the last 20yrs
lion of judah.... great song writing

This piece is a mess right from the start. Poor expression makes your writing unintelligible. It reads like you're against someone who likes Planet Earth. Just say you don't like it. Occam's razor.

Well I learned my lesson. I won't express my opinion anymore for an album I don't like. Maybe I was too extreme with the way I worded it.

Apparently because I don't think Planet Earth is a good album I'm accused of boosting posts, other's opinion counts more than mine, I haven't gone through enough life experiences, I'm out of touch, don't have a life and I'm unintelligble...

Wow the ORG is harsh. I guess Planet Earth is a genius masterpiece album. I'll admit defeat.
