Considering that Prince had been popping up to perform a concert on the day that a gig was being announced...an actual physical version of what Beyonce did, then anything was possible from him this year. I was surprised as anyone with the supposed release date notice, but there was a few weeks for Warners to get their act together. But nothing happened and it was incorrect. I spoke to the guys in the shop and they were informed of this release from the label and so they made the notice posters...hopefully this was Warners or someone being sneaky and seeing a reaction. That's the best way to go about it. Prince has taught us, that any project he's involved in, it's not set in stone, until it's actually happening.

i think the whole hold up is just Plectrum Electrum and his solo album. he obviously wants to release both of them before moving on to the PR remaster. . but meanwhile things are as confusing as ever since it seems he can't decide which project to release or promote first. unless he's planning on releasing them together, which seems like yet another commercial clusterfck. . the 3EG album really should have been released end of last year or at latest first month of this year. then there would have been time for his solo album right now. plus, all the promotion he was doing, and the UK tour, plus appearances on Arsenio, he's not going to be able to invest that much time in two separate projects now if PR needs to be released in the late fall this year. the window on PE kinda closed already imho. . but the longer the confusion goes on (3EG tweeting about their album, songs from it being performed live, yet snippets of his solo album are being posted and listening parties for it are being hosted) the less time there will be inbetween these releases and the purple rain remaster, which i'm sure warners ain't too happy about. . my guess would be that warners would have liked to release the PR remaster first and promote his other stuff later this year. but prince is obviously gunning for the other projects first since he doesn't even mention PR anymore or moans about people living in the past and 'why do they want to talk about that?'. . if nothing materialises in july, it's anybody's guess, i guess

A rumour is running? It seems that the Deal between Prince& WB would be cancelled ..Prince would have broken the Deal >The reissue project would be dead! I Hope it's a lie????

Purple Rain Deluxe will not be release , this is what has been said from some persons well informed at WB.
The deal would have gone up in smoke. Let's pray for a new album anyway

According to the folks on the French forum (later on the thread), this FunkyMusic guy isn't considered reliable and hasn't ever produced any "in the know" news that's been proven true so far, so let's hope he's just trollin'. If there's anyone who possible can screw this up then it's Prince, Wb won't do it, they will follow the deal and contract but the problem with Prince is that he never gets satisfied and can't make up his mind. I fear that if things goes wrong this time then it will hurt what's left of his career cuz the remasters might not be important to him, but definitely is for his hardcore fans. I heard from a source pretending to be in the know that WB would consider an Anthology for the 30 years of PR.....this is considered at thi stage as a work in progress (this is too a Rumour at this stage So....u know the rest) : This Anthology would be a BIG DELUXE PACKAGING with a memoralia Book + 10 cds ....this anthology would be centered around the remastered version of 4 Albums:
Dirty Mind Controversy 1999 Purple Rain
....the remaining 6 ds = various unreleased stuff ( no details at this stage)
