Are you people serious? This is his weakest shit in years. Zooey sounds awful. The track sounds trite and generic - almost like karaoke music. A blatent attempt at something mainstream, with not a shred of originality. He's come a LONG way downhill from When Doves Cry. Jeeeezzzz. COME ON, man.

Not exactly any active promotion going on for it though. I genuinely don't know why Prince didn't put this up for download on the day of the New Girl episode. The guy may be a musicial genius, but he hasn't got the best head for business.

I like this song. Glad it's getting a proper release. Don't care which CD it's on or if anyone else on the planet hears it I'm still buying it.

Having heard it a number of times now, Im not that crazy on it, its basically a one line song!Imean I love prince, and want him to have a hit and more radio play but the song doesnt go anywhere, and for that reason might not be a hit. The best thing about it is the beat and the main line of lyric. But i hope i am wrong!

this could be a big hit. I think it's a very simple pop tune, with a little Prince pee on it. That makes it stand up for me.

But....my girls they truly despise everything from the man. But this.

they they keep singing it all day long...

finally now more 'Roar and unconditionally' anymore...but they keep singing Prince.

This for me is a sign, it could be a huge hit, if he marketed it right....and there...it will go wrong again

A better remix is what this song really needs. In this version it can't really compete with other comparable contemporary productions.

I'm pretty sure that the pre-Josh version is even more uninteresting. More like a typical Prince production.

I just bought this on itunes, don't see it in their chart but that doesn't matter, certainly a big switch to pop after what we have heard recently.

I agree, though, a different remix could make this song much better. I like this version though but probably will forget about the song in a week or so lol. It's that sort of song.

I would like to hear a more organic version because the horns and strings are a warm sound while the techno disco stuff is rather a cold sound and a bit generic.

but he has to push it to get a hit...he is 55...hits aint going to just happen for someone his age.

I was browsing the internet and actually saw an ad for the song on iTunes. It's currently the #34 pop song on iTunes right now (104 overall).

"When Doves Cry" was almost 30 years ago. It's time to move on. Big hits are a thing of the past, not just for Prince, but for everyone. Today, with attention spans very short, and information available at a fraction of a second, it's all about moments and how long you can live in those moments. 30 years ago, songs hung around for years and people a year after a release might have just heard it for the first time, and it was still considered "new", because media was print and basic television, sometimes a couple of dozen cable stations if you had a decent income. Like I said, "When Doves Cry" and his early stuff was great, but it was made greater by the lack of instant communication and broadcasting. This song fits well for the moment.

When Doves Cry is a fantastic song. Prince knew back then how to craft solid gold. This new song is just shit and will be forgotten very soon, while When Doves Cry will still be remembered in a hundred years as a fantastic song.

Of course When Doves Cry is a much better song,

It doesn't take "a genius" to hear that.

I still like the new single FALLINLOVE, it is a great and fun song. No need to compare with the classics.
