I guess for me itsba toss up between shockadelica...its funky, fun, danceable, funny, sexy, perverse....its like all of the above... She'll make ya beg. ....and How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore. Great songwriting totally unconventional for the time period. Piano...check. bass drum...check. Xpress record and....GO. .....and United States of Division. Really...it doesn't get much better than this.....   ...aw hell I can't maintain....this song is as terrible as shockadelica is good. A true low point of a very good musicology period. | |

I also love Power Fantastic, but it wasn't actually a b-side even though it was included on the b-sides collection. Obviously, Prince knew it was dynamite and just wanted to get it out there one way or another. 17 Days. The elastic bass line, the warm swells of keyboard, the light reggae rhythm guitar...it's not just my favorite b-side but one of my three or so favorite Prince songs in general. Of course Erotic City and She's Always In My Hair are great too.

Agree with so many of these but surprised no one has mentioned I Wish U heaven pts 1,2 and 3 Remember putting that on my record player for the first time in high school and getting to the end of the traditional version and thinking this is just going to be 7 more minutes of strings and falsetto then came two dramatically different takes on the song. P.S. Just listened to some b-sides the other day and I think SAIMH might have the edge over 17 Days which is maybe a bit too poppy in comparison. It's close though.
