Does anyone really think a 55-year-old guy is going to release a song that is going to chart on the pop charts?

Really? Y'all think the 16-year-olds of this country are going to bop to something written by a guy nearly 40 years older than them?

They aren't. Prince knows this. It's not a reflection on him or the quality of his music. It's just the way young people think. So he does what he wants to do, and he writes what he thinks you want to hear. And he knows most of you last saw 16 a long time ago.

But if you think Prince is writing stuff hoping to get teens' attention, you're not living in the real world.

Well a lot of people are living in some sort of fantasy world with no clue on how the music industry works. This song will do well on the rnb charts and I think P knows that is his best chance at radio air play.

Then he should probably send it to a fee radio stations. A few will pick it up off of iTunes, but very fee are actively seek out music to add to their playlists when they've got dozens of new songs being sent to them on a weekly basis by people who are willing to do the leg work to get them played.

Look at RNRLA, that was on the A playlist on radio 2 for about 6 weeks in the UK and it didn't even touch the top 100. No one cares about the charts these days. Half the playlist doesn't make the chart.

Didn't David Bowie did it earlier this year??

Looks like video is going to be shot this week, so did anyone get through?? Wonder P will actually be in it with his young dance team??

This is kind of weird because the tempo of Breakfast Can Wait--nothing about it tells me it is a song to dance to. Certainly nothing requiring a whole dance troupe.

I thought of you when I saw the video teaser earlier this morning!

Guess what we get to see here: lol

A song about sex in lieu of breakfast? Certainly conures visions of random people dancing in a warehouse. Or something.

This is the most drawn out promotion for a mediocre song I've witnessed in some time. Then again, he released the Dance 4 Me remixes 3 years after the album came out.

I said the same, the dance rehearsal in a warehouse just doesn't blend with the vibe and message of the song

This.
