It would be hilarious if Billy Cobham sent a copyright takedown notice for this biggrin

Isn't putting all those album covers in the video a copyright infringement of one sort? razz

LOL razz

I think it's a message 2 indicate all the covers they'll b playing this tour wink

This one time, I got a compilation CD attached to a fashion mag that had Mandrill's "Fencewalk" on it. Love it.

Interesting - they deactivated the "Download" Link for this. When it was first posted last night, and for the first 20 minutes or so, it was directly downloadable as a full quality .mov file. It was then deleted (at about 11pm EST) but returned an hour or so later, with "Download" disabled.

Oh, it's definitely easy to "capture" this video/audio in any browser. I was just commenting on the fact that, briefly, there was an actual Download button where you could choose various qualities and just download it directly from Vimeo. I think that, when someone first posted it, they forgot to toggle some settings and had to quickly yank it and repost it again with the Download disabled.

Where the file first was, you now get the message:

"Sorry, "BOOMSTRATUS" was deleted at 10:57:52 Wed Apr 3, 2013.

We have no more information about it on our mainframe or elsewhere."

This happened while my download of the full quality file was underway. Even though the page was saying this, the download continued to completion just fine.

And, after all, isn't that what we all dream of?

biggrin

---------- No it would be Mr. Cobham legal right just like P has a legal right. Not really a big of an issue that some of you are making it out to be.

I'm not making an issue of it. I love the irony of Prince taking down all videos of him and his music on the internet and then putting up a video of someone else's song himself.

You can cover any song you want. As long as the roylaties are paid.

Also funny that this comes 2 months after he reiterated that he doesn't want people covering his music.

He stated that he didn't like people re recording his music.. This is a rehearsal of a song that is covered under fair use.. Nothing less nothing more.,..

The viscersal reaction folks have to what he says and does is mind boggling..

Just got back to my computer, compared the various files and noticed the difference between the original download version and the version currently posted:

The original post (at least the full quality .MOV file I downloaded) goes to black after the transition from BOOM to STRATUS (in other words, after the STRATUS title comes up, at about 2:13, the rest of the video is black - none of the album cover shots, nothing but the music for the rest of the file).

The downloaded .MOV file is showing as a 1500kbps, 1920x1080, 121.5MB file

The "captured" video (at least, my capture) is 153kbps, 1280x720, 25.5MB file

I just wish he would either stop playing or recording covers or embrace people covering his music. It has to be one or the other.
