It would be hilarious if Billy Cobham sent a copyright takedown notice for this biggrin

Just imagine how many prince fans would flip like a dime & turn on the whining. I am for EVERY single artist issuing a copyright takedown that Prince covers. i see this as a 2fer

1) It shows Prince how much nonsense it is to constantly go after other performers or those who share the music via a streaming site.

2) It gets rid of tired ass covers that we NEVER want to hear again.

lol

Okay, I love this. If he brings this tour to the Midwest and I can manage it with my school/work schedule, I'll fork up the exorbitant amount of cash required.

One of my friends told me something a while back about Prince & it made sense to me. He says he heard someone close to the NPG Band from time to time: Prince read comments from here via his computer at rehearsal and mocks the praisers & critics equally. I believe it, because it isn't too unbelieveable. It isn't unreal like "OMG Prince beat up Ted Nugent!" Just that Prince enjoys seeing feedback that is unfiltered. This PROVES that Prince BE TROLLING EVERYONE lol

Now, you see what we just did was set a place for everyone at the MOCK table. I wonder how Prince praisers would feel if they heard a audio tape of Prince mocking them. I ALWAYS knew there was no way Prince could go for this amount of praising w/out sensing a insincerity & b.s.

Prince, if you are reading this, Mock on! Get that money & sell some slave labor symbol jewelry from china at a overpriced amount! That's a bit of trolling & mocking right there, trocking. We trocking up in here! Billy Cobham, what are you waiting for? He's turning your Stratus into a lounge number, you can't have that! Cease that mutha! lol

Reading these comments makes me wonder why some of you are fans of Prince. It certainly can't be because of his musicianship, as his playing on this jam is really superb. His tone is GREAT, and his solo is just so fluid. The rest of the band (especially Hannah) sounds like they're really synching up well with boss man. I, for one, cannot wait for the four shows coming to town in exactly weeks.

Because of the 80s. Without them I wouldn't be a fan and he would have had a very different life.

And also because of things like iTunes where you can have random play and you get Irresistible Bitch next to Breakfast Can Wait (just happened) and the staggering difference punches you in the face. I'm starting to also wonder whether Prince disappeared years ago and was replaced by a lookalike with a boffin at Paisley trying his best to keep his music going.

Simple fact, he's not living up to his potential regardless of whether you or I like it. Path of the aging pop star with our expectations set too high or maturity of some regarding music having surpassed what he is capable of?

What if another universe complete with sun and moon
An entire galaxy and what's worse, you and I too soon
Find each other expanding beyond this dirty room
Butterscotch mountains, sunshine

Run your fingers up and down the obelisk in the earth
Down to 33 rpms where the primordial gives birth
Or else we lie neck high you and I in one another's ooze
Volcano magic, summertime

Everybody knows what happens when you worship from afar
The ebb and flow of angels dancing around the star
And if the sunrise is still a question
The answer's in the dark, celibate, mushroom, canopy

The viscersal reaction folks have to what he says and does is mind boggling..

Because they are not fans of his musicianship. They are stuck in the 80s and they want P to join them along with all of the protegees who cannot seem to move forward. I like a lot of the stuff he has been putting out on his website and I could actually see some of it getting radio airplay however, as long as he does not have a record deal that is not going to happen. It is astounding how many people on this board are screaming about relevancy when they should know by now how the industry works.

I like this rehearsal(as well as the reworked Let's Go Crazy) . Makes me wish I could make one of the west coast gigs. Hopefully he brings it east over the summer.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

the more i listen to this band the more tighter they are sounding and the more I am liking them. Have to say that I love H's drum style as it doesn't overpower in the way that John B''s and others have in the past..it lets the bass and guitar breathe a little more.

Why can't i / we buy this brilliant track though?....again i'd be happy to pay!!!

Well, I think U're wrong!

I like Prince's musicianship and love the live jams.

But I never liked Lotusflow3er, I prefer MPLNS and the funky sound.

For intance, I love the Musicology tour live version of DMSR or the Cool/Let's work live version from his Welcome 2...tour, I can't sit still when I hear this kind of P-music and watching those clips puts a smile on my face biggrin

And yes, I love rock, hard rock and Metal but I don't like Prince doing Jimi...with all respect. (btwI prefer Eddie VH cool)

Yes, I love R'nR affair, it's stuck in my head since release..it's just what I like and what others like....and I don't like Lotusflow3r, C&D or Marrying kind.

That's bollocks. I liked rnr and bought it on vinyl and cd. I buy everything he releases in fact, including the 3rdeyegirl stuff. I therefore think that by owning the majority of his material and a vast number of boots both old and new I'm capable of making a very informed judgement of his work. Yes I believe he was at his peak during the 80s, anyone thinking otherwise has no understanding of his music, but I've also thoroughly enjoyed listening to him change through the decades. As for other artists, well I'm not some cliched cock that can only listen to prince. I force myself to listen to a lot of material ranging from modern classical to drone. I try not to dismiss a genre because it doesn't resonate with me as I've learnt that there is great material in every style of music. I buy a lot of music each month and listen to music sites, soundcloud and radio as often as I can. I hear lots of music I don't like but lots that I do that I'd never have found if all I ever listened to was 80s Prince. I'd rather be deaf than stuck with just one artist. The thought goes against my whole musical enjoyment. Whether I'm listening to British Sea Power, The Doves or Gangnam Style I always look for the enjoyment in music. That is how I'm able to criticise Prince so easily. He is often below par with what I hear elsewhere and he definitely hasn't been an innovator for a very many years. Far younger, more hungry, less pampered souls are taking music forward each and every day.

Don't really get the "Support Real Music By Real Musicians" thing at the end but I thought the song was pretty good smile

Prince is starting a new union. Instead of paying the musicians and supporting their families, you compensate him & be glad you can play on Purple Rain era music reworks for a few weeks out of the year. How dare anyone suggest otherwise? mad The union has a tentative title of "Who Do You Think You Are Talking To" Union. lol
