The Lotusflow3r album is so good, it probably scared Prince out of releasing another album.

20ten was essentially an abandoned album project... I think Prince originally had a bigger plan for that album, then gave up and released an edited version of the album for "free" in a cardboard sleeve within some European newspapers.

I'm not sure what the cause was... likely a distribution deal gone bad. Of course, he likely got paid from the publications that carried it.

Anyone who thinks that was simply to promote his tour is fooling themselves.

Building up the confidence to purchase 3 of the tracks, not bothered with the video and I have the rest already. I did pay for the Guitar demo 3 times so I don't mind getting two for free. RNR Remix 7 was already given away for free by 3rdeyegirl so that doesn't count as a freebie.

I didn't buy the Dance 4 me EP and I don't think I will.

The RNR EP is currently only €2.28 on Amazon which isn't bad so I might buy that there too (cheaper than itunes anyway).

I love him on acoustic guitar too. Apart from the obvious 'Truth' album he did a gorgeous little acoustic set at a ONA gig I was at. Played a few of my favourites, Don't Play Me among em. I can listen to him with just a guitar, or just a piano but if he plays bleedin chopsticks on em I'm not gonna be impressed.

Having said that, I've always said he could sing ya the phonebook and make it sound funky and thinking of different times he's played a 'chopsticks' kinda thing he's made that sound good too.

I didn't get my free t-shirt so I'm never buying anything from Prince EVER! Doesn't matter since he's washed up and has not done anything good since the 80's. Yet I'll visit a fansite of his and complain about everything and anything he does.

Honestly with so-called fans like that, Prince don't need em. The people I know that do not even like Prince don't put as much time, energy, and hatred as these so-called fans do.

There's nothing wrong with being honest and critical. Prince does F-UP things enough to drive us crazy sometimes no doubt about it. The websites past and present are far from perfect for sure.

Problem is that some people make it out to be deliberate on Prince's part. Really it's nothing more than him trying to do things his own way with little or no help. Sure he has $$$ but it takes good people to organize and run things smoothly. He wants to be in control of it all and that's where it gets trying sometimes for fans. U can't be a musician, singer/song writer, producer, director, engineer, webmaster, and businessman at one time. Especially when your expertise is only half of those things. But in the end it's his career and he's doing what he believes in. We can either enjoy the positive aspects of it or dwell on the past and the negative side. None of us are here 4ever ya know.

I totally get where folks get frustrated just as I do at times. What I don't get is why do people come here complaining how he hasn't done anything good in 20 years, he ripped me off, he's washed up, I'll never buy anything from him, etc. Nothing constructive, just bitching and moaning.

That's all fine but why bother calling yourself fans and devoting so much time for someone you don't like and pretty much vow to never like again? All it really does is make some of you look like a bunch of spoiled immature babies. There's got to be a group or artist that does everything right and makes killer music. I suggest you stick with that if Prince and his music bothers you so much. Good luck on that!

I can understand your reply but Prince fucked up things too often and i think it is pretty legit to complain about someone putting up a fansite for 77 dollars...Thousands of people join and dont get any thing for this money....Don t know about you but 77 dollars is a lot of money 4 me......

I am a Prince fan for over 25 years and still spend a lot of money on him but is it so hard to put up a decent website like f.e. U2?...So yes, i am not so enhusiastic on the way on he releases his music now and will not pay anything to get these...Prince is a musical genius but a lousy person who only thinks about his own wallet and doesn t give a damn about his fans...And i even dont start about the way he puts together a tourschedule...that s an absolute disgrace towards his fans who arent able to plan forward..
