As (admittedly irrationally) frustrated as I get with people who claim to be fans, yet give answers like some of the ones in this thread, I still can't stand the notion of a "true fan".

It has the same ring to it as "true believer" and makes the whole idea of supporting a musician feel like belonging to a cult.

I feel like there needs to be some equivalent of Godwin's Law for when people start arguing that someone's "not a true fan".

Particularly when they insist on doing it one post at a time.

I totally respect that people have different opinions on issues, and have every right to express them. I've never been interested in labels ie "true fan", "fams", "hater","troll".

It is frustrating however, that there seems to be elements that are more passionate in attacking other forum members rather discussing their own and others point of views on the respective forum thread subject.

We can suspect it was simply a case of unsustainable Business model, especially on our part.

I believe that the 3rdeyegirl model where the music is freely available without no upfont money for proposed future content, or membership is a positive development.

hopefully they will be released in cd format or album...dont like to pay for digital music..Pity that he has thrown away his principles...He once said that digital music hasn t got any soul.. Where are the days that you looked out for an album release. Can remember the exitement before an album release in the 80ties....Releasing loose tracks , without any art seems like releasing music without any concept or idea despite the 3rd eyed girl thing..

I haven't. I heard them elsewhere and didn't like them enough to want to own and listen to again.

Now a days I listen to maybe: 20 mins of music a day-almost all in my car. Mostly Prince, or Led Zep... mostly I listen to the stations that play traffic reports... I rather hear 10 mins of blather and avoid a hour in a traffic jam (but i have an app that helps some with that).

I prefer to wait until a new album in a physical format is published. And I agree with those who say that waiting can make the experience of listening to music more special. It may be difficult to understand in these days of inmediacy and fast culture, but I've always seen it like that.

I bought one and that was just outta curiosity. Fair price for utter tosh. I tried to buy others before but the site kept fainting at the thought of it. I've heard em all and wasn't impressed by any. I like the way he's doing it, (When it's stable) but the tracks are weak, especially by his standards. I'll buy more if I think they're worth having.

I have discussed this before - but I miss the old CD stores .... i have no desire to download music and make my own Cd and such ... i have downloaded some ... but it always seems to be on a computer that goes "FFFFFFFF" and then ... i lose the music ...

and no offense ... i have been burned by Prince before ... ya know the times .... spend a whole morning goin to a CD store and buy the latest album and .... it is pretty much SHITE ...

i heard screwdriver . i liked it . but . not gonna buy it for $1.25 or whatever ... pfff ...
