the whole set will be up on the Rdaio 1 website later. It really was great and given the sound of their single 'Madness' [the kind of song we could only wish P could deliver] it is obvious the influence he has had on them.

Holy shit shit shit, that was fucking amazing!!!

I can't believe I missed it live. I've been waiting for 2 weeks and completely forgot.

Just heard it. They totally smashed the shit out of it!

Loving muse at the moment. You can tell Prince is a big influence on the current single.

how depressing is it to listen to R&R Affair straight after Muse's Madness !, i just want to cringe.

Hmm, I quite like RNR, but I know exactly what you mean. Madness is bloody brilliant. I do think Prince will surprise us sooner rather than later. I hope so anyway.

I can't stop listening to SOTT right now. It's so heavy, it makes your stomach turn over.

It's EPIC!

Today I bought the new Muse album, I've heard it has some Funk elements..... very curious.

Have a look at 'The W2A: Euro Tour Song Survey' http://prince.org/msg/12/362417

It sounds alright. The guitar tone is GREAT, along with how it blended with the bass.. Everything else is somewhat subpar...imo...I like Muse , but this was a letdown from what I hear people saying...the vox were tired...the drummer was way to loose. I'd MUCH rather listen to the RRHOF performance of that song....not to mention the SOTT movie version. All that said, I haven't heard P's most recent erformances.... So.... shrug

Interesting, but for me the stark, haunting minimalism of the original is completely lost in Muse's usual bombastic self-indulgence. Better than the Simple Minds version though I guess.

i don't like this... the vocals sound so cheesy... The guitars would be better if they were done "more tastefully," as Yngwie Malmsteen might say.

if you're interested in a crazy minimal version, check out Sine of Dub by spaceape/kode9

I like Sine of Dub, but really, prince's version is far and away the best to my ears.

hahaha, yeah...

But anyway, Prince's vocals on the original are great. They're not at all overworked. They're even a little bit grating/irritating! But that nasally 'siiiiiiiiiiiiigggn' at the end of the second chorus is frisson-inducing.

The vocals on the Muse version just sound like a lot of lame exaggerated faux-emotion to make it 'interesting'...

Meh.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Gohi

This cover is a mess and their new album is absolutely terrible. Theirs has been one of the quickest and most disheartening declines in rock history.

That was pretty hard-edged!

I really like Muse, especially live. Bionic guitar!

Prost!
