I think an album of about 10 songs featuring Prince and another artist would be fantastic! Here's my dream setlist:

1. Prince & Justin Bieber

2. Prince & Marilyn Manson

3. Prince & "the next winner of X-Factor"

4. Prince & Garth Brooks

5. Prince & Robin Thicke

6. Prince & Michael Buble

7. Prince & Tom Cruise (single release to coincide with "Rock of Ages")

8. Prince & will.i.am

9. Prince & Usher

10. Prince & Coldplay

Bonus Track: Prince and prince

No offence, but I would rather stick a needle in my eye then listen to any one of your suggestions above.

I don't mind a duet from time to time, but I wouldn't want a complete album unless it was unique in some way.

I was being totally sarcastic.

The way you felt about reading these is the way I feel about the THOUGHT of a duet album.

NO EFFING WAY - prince doesn't need to share an album with anybody, i can't stand half the singers today and to have to listen to them screeching next to the beautiful prince i'm not buying it!

Stupid idea!!

pray Peace in the House of Prince.

No way, I could not stand it - and who with?

to be of any interest it would have to be with someone everyone knows, not some obscure person -

so who does that leave?

Madonna (althoguh they did Love Song in a weird kinda way)

Gaga?

or would he go with some old vintage chicks?

Beyonce would probably work - but maybe she would not want to share the limelight.

Hard to think who would be suitable really...............

food for thought though,

but my gut feeling still says NO Thank You

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

You guys are against anything that is different as usual, aren't you?

I like it when he's experimenting and trying new things. Keeps him sharp.

And why do you all assume a duet has to be with some lame talentless popular chart babe?

I really think there are a lot of talented people with whom he could cooperate and make it into a great song.

In stead of judging in advance, why not come up with artists you would love to see him cooperate with?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

No - it is not that. A duet would be interesting - but I just question who with? Normally duets are male/female - so I was trying to think of the girl side. But even when I think "OK maybe with a male" I still cannot really think of anyone.

For an album to be viable you would have to have people that are known (current or well known artists) not some obsure person (like Bria Valentine) -

I like the concept - but just cannot think of anyone funkier enough to work with Prince.

Gaga could pull it off I think, as she has a jazzy side, maybe Adele too?

But somehow I am not sure Prince would want to do it anyway? But of course this is all hypthetical anyway I know.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

No I don't think I want a duet album, unless it's individual songs of each artist and their emotional meanderings towards each other in a story, climaxing to a grand finale. But then I want to choose the female artist.

Nope. It smacks of a nostalgia piece, a la Tony Bennett, or of a Christmas album. Plus, I honestly can't think of someone who would work well, meaning who I'd want to hear. I did not enjoy the Beyonce duet from the Grammy's, and I think I'd keel over and die if he were to sing with Rihanna or similar ilk. I like Tamar's contributions to 3121, but I prefer Prince providing his own backup vocals. His voice can deliver so many different sounds.

Btw, that comment about Tom Cruise made my day! Haha!

Seriously I think if he worked with talentd female vocalists then the project could work. No 'hot chick of the moment' collabos. Artists like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Sy Smith, Jack Davey, Andy Allo, Meshell Ndegeocello, Nikka Costa, Sandra St.Victor. First it would be more of true collaborative effort since these ladies also write their own music. Second it would be some smoove ish!!!!

If home dude is inspired to do it, I trust it will be well thought out and good since he hasn't put one out in all this time. I'm sure he'd take his time and get it right. I doubt it's in the cards, though.

Now, the idea of him working with Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and Meshell Ndegeocello intrigues me. I would love to hear him and Meshell on a hot, funky instrumental bass guitar-centered collaboration song. Straight up mad-laboratory ish. Do dat!

Hey, he's already worked with Bootsy, too. Gimme a side, NPG-like funk project with Bootsilla!

A man can dream. lol cool

All love.

The night I went to Prince in O2 London, Will.i.am performed on stage with Prince, if I remember it right. Because the camera was installed on the seats I got tickets for, they offered me the best seat ever. Rigth in the 'arm pit' of the symbol stage. I danced my ass of that night.

Liked it.

I don't think an entire CD of collaboration between 2 artists would come out real good.... I am a huge Prince & Kate Bush fan and if they were ever to do this then I'd be pretty excited but still it probably would :/.... I like collaborations on individual songs of the people u had listed as a one song collaboration Marilyn Manson and Prince would be like REALLY interesting. The rest of those people i dont care for though. I don't think u were serious anyway haha.

With the risk of being to positive about P for an orger, I like the idea.

I'm not familiar with all you mention. I Love Erykah Baduh though!

And I really like the idea of cooperating and experimenting with music together. It might not work out for every collaboration, so that is good extra material for his vault wink

However, with some musicians it also might work really good. I like the thought of Prince having a natural flow going with others. Or that they have to push eachothers' limit and get that fire in a song.

If he's comfortable and feels confident, Prince can create magic. I just hope he can free himself from self induced limitations and surrender himself to whatever music streams out of him.

Wouldn't it be great if he could do that with inspiring other musicians?

I also think a duet with KD Lang would be great.

I would love to see a tape of their conversation.

Two big ego's of moderate length telling eachother that their religion is more right than the other.

I would love to hear their arguments. How to convince the other that he is right with his religious life style doctrine..

priceless
