some songs i've been yearning to hear:

interactive (prince probably doesn't feel it anymore due to the lyrics, but the guitar was WILD)

get wild (the glam slam party theme, he should revive it, cuz it stanks 20 cans o wet magic shave)

space (the acoustic version on the maxi single is just too beautiful, perfect for an acoustic medley)

computer blue (can you imagine the guitar shredding on this one? dead )

paisley park (absolutely loved loved loved the ona tour version of this one)

positivity (kind of surprised he didn't revive it since 88 since it's so spiritual)

and from more recent albums:

fury (anything even close to the snl live version would be wildly appreciated)

lion of judah (i know many think it's daft, but i think it's quite brilliant actually, would love to hear it)

act of god (just stretch it out at the end and JAM that mother, could include other songs too)

reflection (another one that would be great for an acoustic set, but perhaps too personal for arenas)

cool

oh man, i've just started listening to the "space" acoustic remix again and it's just

so incredibly good. it's one of those songs that i usually leave on a loop for half an

hour or so. it really deserves another go on the live sets imo. it would just WORK

in an acoustic set. so deceptively simple and yet so deep and dreamy.

I'd like a traditional country record or a whole album of Beatles songs, especially Tomorrow Never Knows. smile

"tomorrow never knows" is so beautiful, weird and simply perfect that it cannot and perhaps

more so should not be recreated by anyone, ever. it simply stands outside of music. it will be

a long time before anyone can catch up with that song.

but a whole album of prince doing beatles songs, or beatles and stones and led zep etc would

be a nice idea indeed. bring it on smile

Phil Collins remade it.

There have been many, many wish list threads, letter-to-Prince threads and ideal concert setlist threads. It's only another one of those and come on it feels good to type out loud what we want whether he reads it or not. wink

It would seem that the crazy/delusional stuff is not insulting, just the fact that you used the term 'American'.

Surely the only person that would be insulted by being called an American would be a Canadian..? smile

There is a strong element of crazy in the American psyche. It's just a fact - and I like it.

In a nutshell...

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
