Original music

3/20/2012 is the release date for the Original Album Series (Box). I'm looking forward to this.

If the copy of 'Lovesexy' is tracked, I might be interested. Otherwise, I'll have to pass on this one.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's been posted about twice...

More info (Tracklist):

It is being released by rhino, and will contain the albums "1999", "Purple Rain", "Parade", "Lovesexy" and "Diamonds and Pearls". Likely not remastered, and likely in cheap packaging.

Rhino is releasing a five disc box set of some of his early albums as part of their 'Original Album Series':

Harlepolis

They fucked up when they did that to Chaka Khan's solo albums. Saaaaame mess, different waste.

I couldn't contain myself when I heard they're giving Chaka's albums the remaster treatment, given that they did decent jobs previously for other artists, but it was such a let down.

Now, not ALL Rhino's remasters are bad, its the "original album series" bullshit that folks shouldn't be suckered into.

These things are fine for casual fans or people who may be buying Prince for the first time and don't want to spend a lot of buck.

For everyone else, they should be avoided.

Warner owns Rhino.

Agreed. Most Prince fans already have these albums. If not remastered, there is no point.

Nope, not tracked. It makes up Disc 3, one track.
