Is Prince "It" now

Since all of our musical legends have either passed on or on drugs is Prince "the musician" now? Use to be a time when he was considered the "weird one" but now it seems he is the only real artist/musician left. Is he carrying the music torch? I think he is-he is music for me heart Opinions?

Well I guess those fans will always miss him, but I wonder if younger folks really know that Prince is a living legend and all he's contributed to music.

im 20, and not a single person i know (other than people i preach to) has any knowledge of prince outside a few pop hits from the 80s. you post a prince video at places like reddit and every single post is something like "prince plays guitar now?" people think hes a no talent, vapid, strictly-pop star

Wow that's truly sad disbelief I wonder if Prince has brought that view from people on himself by his past behaviors? Still sad that young people are clueless to one of the best artist ever.

I get huge, huge headaches and nightmares even when I think about Prince gone from this here earth. sad

OF COURSE PRINCE IS IT!

I truly & deep down inside what ever soul I have left, of whatever strength I have left KNOW what potential he has.

He just has been talking 2 the wrong people, he should talk to me, even for 5mins.

I could show him something that would help.

I can't bear it.

I can't even lie, it irks to pieces when Mayte says in spainsh, "Prince esta _ _ _ _ _ _!" in a song even.

But what can I do?

Nothing.

I wasn't married to him, if I was, I would cut my throat or my tongue out b4 Prince got me to say those words out my mouth.

Sting, Mick Jagger and Stevie Wonder are but a few "it" artists still doing the damn thing.

They get more acclaim and Prince is an awesome (and one of the most influential) artist, but far from the "last man standing" IHMO.

I hope all these men are around for a long, long time. I enjoy them all and all bring something very special to the table in the music industry.

I love his whole new cd, but go back and find any Debarge cd and you'll love him even more-he is one of the best falsetto singers besides Prince.

All worthy of the title, but Prince is one of a kind imo. Stevie is definitely a legend that's deserving in my book. Love him too.

In the category of artist/musician Prince is "the one". Especially as a solo performer, despite the rotation of backing musicians on the road with him. He is what artists who write/compose and perform their own songs aspire to and admire.

It is sad that BET doesn't give more time to artists/groups of truly rare and inspiring talent on Centric. It seemed to start out that way then turned into a long episode of 106 & Park!

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

This is what I'm trying to say that as far as musicianship goes he is it. Thank you-very nicely said and BET stopped being good when Donnie Simpson left-to hell with them.

Wow that's truly sad disbelief I wonder if Prince has brought that view from people on himself by his past behaviors? Still sad that young people are clueless to one of the best artist ever.

i will say that im 16 and a junior in highschool, and when i speak of prince most people know purple rain atleast.. but then you have those ignorant ones who think lil wayne and katy perry are the greatest, i mean, i really fell bad for my generation musically, we have younger people that think lil wayne has sold more albums than anyone on this earth, and that justin bieber is "original" and "changing music" and that katy perry is "the biggest thing to happen to pop music" i use to argue with these ignorant people, but i finally said screw it.. just let them be ignorant,

but as far as your question, i think that he is..

Too true. When he does shuffle off this mortal coil so to speak, everyone and their sister will be lining up with the eulogies to how great he was etc..

I really don't care how Prince is perceived by other people though. It doesn't make a blind bit of difference to me. biggrin
