I wouldnt say that "all" the great musicians have passed on but Prince is definately one of the last truly great ones. No one in the mainstream industry today has half of his talent.

2 Prince:

One love inside...

Does anybody remember?

Being up on that roof...

Sneaking into that place...

To find out who you was...

And together we survived...

Together...

Because your music has saved my life...

Changing 1,000's of people to such groove, sound...

And the world around them...

Thanx for the music...

Thanx for true message.

Wow that's truly sad disbelief I wonder if Prince has brought that view from people on himself by his past behaviors? Still sad that young people are clueless to one of the best artist ever.

Not all young people. I'm aware of his young audience. They're out there. nod

I'm a 16 year old btw.

obviously there will be a few exceptions, but grab 1000 16 year olds at random and ask their views on prince, and you'll see how little hes respected in that age group

I was just thinkin' about this today, actually.

Never got a chance to see Michael, but gotdamnit, I will make it to a Prince concert! Really gotta start saving my pennies, though, cause I refuse to be in the nosebleeds when it comes time to see him.

Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

Not to belittle that demographic but they only know Michael Jackson because every dude out(Chris Brown, Ne Yo, Usher etc.) is trying to be the "next MJ". They haven't been given a varied a selection in music or artists as we had growing up. Everyone is so overly cross pollinated with guest appearances that it all sounds the same and that's what the labels want. If there was some 16-22 year old with writing skills, a set of abs, who could play guitar and sing falsetto he'd be labelled the "next Prince" in a hot minute.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Sting, Mick Jagger and Stevie Wonder are but a few "it" artists still doing the damn thing.

They get more acclaim and Prince is an awesome (and one of the most influential) artist, but far from the "last man standing" IHMO.

I hope all these men are around for a long, long time. I enjoy them all and all bring something very special to the table in the music industry.

When did Paul McCartney die? omfg I don't think I would put Mick Jagger in that category. Springsteen and Bowie are still around though too.

Since all of our musical legends have either passed on or on drugs is Prince "the musician" now? Use to be a time when he was considered the "weird one" but now it seems he is the only real artist/musician left. Is he carrying the music torch? I think he is-he is music for me heart Opinions?

I totally agree! I do think Prince is the IT! He is still on his flow and while they're still legends left. He has continually driven himself to excellence and seems to get better each time.

what are you talking about? did you really just asked if people cryed? did you not turn on you television during the time michael passed? it was the only thing on news stations for like 5 months.. why?! because the WORLD was upset, we lost the greatest entertainer on earth (please dont turn this into a debate) and he was creepy? how? you probably dont know shit about him, other than media lies and tabloid garbage.. and Prince infact WAS a fan of michael.. have you watched any footage of P's W2A AND W2E tour? he pays tribute to michael (dont stop till you get enough)

and as far as prince not going to the funeral... im argueably the biggest michael jackson fan in the world... and i wasnt there, so..

and did you really have to post this? i mean really...

I get huge, huge headaches and nightmares even when I think about Prince gone from this here earth. sad

OF COURSE PRINCE IS IT!

I truly & deep down inside what ever soul I have left, of whatever strength I have left KNOW what potential he has.

He just has been talking 2 the wrong people, he should talk to me, even for 5mins.

I could show him something that would help.

I've said before that I cried for mj and I didn't even know him so I know if I'm still alive when that day comes for Prince I will be a mess! So I guess he is IT!

I hate 2 think about Prince not being here sad cry http://youtu.be/hGmY7zrvYWg

I wasn't a mj fan but I appreciate his music. However, I had a really creepy dream last week that I came out a very expensive Chinese restaurant & looked in a shop window, only to see my reflection, & myself as Michael Jackson. I was actually him & I thought I looked incredibly handsome! (?) These crazy dreams of mine...
