And, no - I don't have the "EYE" Records website.

I don't have the website for 'EYE' Records either, however I easily found it by doing a Google search but spelt 'EYE' backwards ...

^ Thanks Bart! I ran across the flyer on a Japanese site yesterday that is selling the EYE release. I still haven't found the audio yet (only a sample snippet from 17 Days, which seems to be just a harsh EQ of the Free release). Maybe it's not circulating widely yet.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

vitriol

'More time' say these sons of a bitch!!

'More time' of audience noise, NOT OF MUSIC.

But these things happen, and will keep on happening, because there are too many assholes supporting the fact that they press what the fans FOUND and FREED FIRST.

Oh, yes. I know, don't bother... they are factory pressed and blah blah blah.

But some day the free labels will have had enough of vultures profiting from other people's work and will stop freeing the best stuff out in the wild. They will resort to sharing the stuff in closed circles and then Eye and Sab will have to do real homework or they will have to press their own asses so as to feed the 'oh, but it's pressed' people.

I'm wishing for that day to come.

OK, firstly, if what I'm about to say has already been noted... Oh well. I haven't read all 18-plus pages in this thread... lol. Anyway, here are a few observations I made when listening to this "gift."

1. I love the record sound at the beginning of "Our Destiny." Foreshadow of the extinction of vinyl? Hmm...

2. There seem to be some preludes to ATWIAD on a few tracks...

a. "Roadhouse Garden" could be the first conceptual idea of "Paisley Park," but only in a sense of where the purple people hang... Just a thought.

b. The slowed downed and grinding sound of "Something in the Water" is reminiscent of "She's Always in my

Hair" (long version), especially the guitar playing and the screaming at the end.

c. The percussion track used for "Possessed" is the same as "America."

Again, these are just personal observations and opinions.

An absolutely amazing release. And for the whiners: the Eye release kicks the free release's butt.

It's the kind of show you want unedited. The seven minutes cut away add a lot to ambience and

"feel". It's not only "noise". It's PA music, audience chanting "happy birthday" etc. The sound

quality is also better. It's louder and is a lot clearer. And the packaging is out of this world.

Absolutely stunning.

Everybody should know by now you're an Eye-promotor (or even more....).

The quality is exactly the same, they just ripped the free release and, like you say yourself, pumped the volume a bit. It isn't clearer at all, just louder, that's it. No additional eq'ing has been done, except in your imagination and their promotion. (because it wasn't needed of course)

Easy money once again by the "profiteers"....

Oh....the additional 7 min they brag about have no music at all, just crowd and a bit of pa. They were editted out for good reasons and to make it fit on regular 80min cdr.

Don't know if I missed this somewhere in these18 or so pages, but is it time we finally start working out the lyrics to "Our Destiny/Roadhouse Garden"? This is the first time they've really been even remotely decipherable, ha ha.

This is what I've come up with so far for "Our Destiny":

Won't you come to town, I'd love to show you around
Take what ??????? is known to play

Our love, it's written in the sky above

Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E

When I saw you walk, I had to talk to you.
Didn't know what to say, I wanted your love anyway

Our love, it's written in the sky above

Our destiny is to fall in love
Don't fight it cause its stronger than us

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E

Look, I'm not sayin' get married or nothin', I ain't ready to settle down baby...

I don't wanna have no kids...
All I'm tryin' to say to you is that, uh...

You gotta be the finest specimen of a woman I've ever seen!

Our destiny is to fall in love

L-O-V-E, yeah

L-O-V-E, yeah

L-O-V-E

Oh, it's so fun, let's kiss...not just yet.
We ???????? treat me like this.
My pleasure's in you(?), let's find a room

Do you want me baby? (I want you, I want you)
I want you too, baby (I want you, I want you)

Any help/corrections would be appreciated!

The only good thing about having an extra 7mins or whatever of "audience chanting" is it would give me time to go and make a cup of tea before the last song started.

And if I wanted it louder, I would turn up my volume.

See also http://www.moquake.com/fo...&t=445 .

IMHO it would be better to make the lyrics for these songs into a Wiki page, so they'd be easier to correct/improve.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but, wasn't the string interlude before "The Ladder" from Around The World In A Day was worked by Wendy and Lisa also that it was originally gonna be used for the song "Roadhouse Garden". I think Our Destiny along with Roadhouse Garden may actually be some of the few known outtakes from Around The World In A Day if u really look at it along with some of those B-Sides that were released at the time.

That's a terrible insult. Because I like a few of the recent Eye releases? Like the Welcome 2 America DVD's, which are AMAZING, and now this? Get lost.

The Eye release is 10 times better than the free release. In all aspects. And this is the kind of show you don't want to have edited by some loser "to make it fit on a disc". Jeez.

That's like cropping Mona Lisa to make her fit your cheap ass IKEA frame.

Honestly this release is totally overrated. Very interesting to hear this gig with a good sound but it is miles away from his best performances.
