Whoever was the source for this...thank you. It's incredible. I know I may be the only person in the world who would like decent sound quality versions of the "Love Sign" Teddy Riley remixes to surface too but...just asking smile

You're not the only one. I love those mixes, but the sound quality we have is awful.

I've been looking for an easier way to decode FLACs.

Trader's Little Helper is my favorite. Audacity works too, but it's more involved.

I use a free program called FLAC FrontEnd that will convert FLACs to .wavs, which you can then load on the Ipod, or convert to mp3s.

If burning FLAC to an audio CD, there is a free plug-in for Nero that will allow you to do this without reformatting the FLACs at all.

I tried burning straight to CD with Toast Titanium, but it was too big confuse

so I used All2mp3, which seems a nifty little thing.

It was too big because it lasts longer in minutes than will fit on a cingle CD. You have to cut to fit on one CD. I haven't listened to the "Happy Birthday" part, because I cut it.

So how do the people who supply it with the cover art and all figure we are supposed to make a CD of it?

hmmmm...

I have 14 tracks and iTunes has it at 1:19:52

I converted the original FLAC files that I downloaded to mp3 for the iPod. This is what I'm basing it on....

Let me check the FLAC files on my external and compare...

I've tried FLAC FrontEnd several times, and have never quite figured it out if they're all in one file with a .cue sheet lol

Okaaaaay,

converted the FLAC's to WAV, loaded them up in Roxio CD Creator, and it lists the time as 79:57, 5 seconds longer than iTunes...

?!#$@!

Here's what I have,

in iTunes, mp3:

01 00:57

02 05:24

03 03:24

04 04:45

05 01:21

06 05:42

07 04:40

08 09:02

09 08:32

10 10:10

11 11:38

12 02:27

13 06:08

14 05:49

total (as calculated by iTunes) 1:19:52

in Roxio, wav:

01 00:56:52

02 05:24:06

03 03:23:50

04 04:45:31

05 01:20:62

06 05:42:07

07 04:40:18

08 09:02:17

09 08:31:58

10 10:10:26

11 11:37:36

12 02:27:00

13 06:07:39

14 05:48:40

total (as calculated by Roxio) 79:57

original FLAC:

01 56.7 sec

02 5 min 24 sec

03 3 min 23 sec

04 4 min 45 sec

05 1 min 20 sec

06 5 min 42 sec

07 4 min 40 sec

08 9 min 2 sec

09 8 min 31 sec

10 10 min 10 sec

11 11 min 37 sec

12 2 min 27 sec

13 6 min 7 sec

14 5 min 48 sec

total (as calculated by Windows) 79 min 53 sec

I don't know what accounts for the variations here, but they all three come in at under 80min.

you might need to be able to enable your option to overburn. but from what I remember, iTunes doesn't allow for that. maybe they've changed it in the last couple of years or something, but that's why I never use iTunes for burning discs. (and because I'm usually burning from a straight disc-to-disc or FLAC or mixed sources).

Let me clear this time discrepancy up. There is absolutely no band interaction or music missing from anyone's copy of the released ANONY/FBG/4DF "From The Soundboard". What did happen in order for the complete show to fit on a regular 80-minute CD-R was nothing more than very carefully editing out the quiet ambient audience lulls between songs.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

This fitted perfectly on an 80 min / 700mb CDR - no editing was required whatsoever.

You can use Winamp to directly burn the FLAC files so you have no loss of quality by having to convert to MP3 first.
