I didn't mind the movie... he looked smokin in it... there were some bad FFW bits in it, but it is a thousand times better than Under The Cherry Moon.... even if he looks a little like MJ with Thieves In The Temple.... I love the song, but his dance has some funny bits to it....

Thieves In The Temple

CHORUS:
Love - come quick
Love - come in a hurry
There are thieves in the temple 2night

They don't care where they kick
Just as long as they hurt U
There are thieves in the temple 2night
Love - if U're there come save me
From all this cold despair
I can hang when U're around
But I'll surely die if U're not there

CHORUS

I feel like they're looking 4 my soul (Soul)
Like a poor man looking for gold (Gold)
There are thieves in the temple 2night
Voices from the sky say rely on your best friend 2 pull U through
But even if I wanted 2 I couldn't really truly cuz my only friend is U
Come on
There are thieves in the temple 2night

Kicking me in my heart
Tearing me all apart (Tearing me, tearing me, tearing me all apart)
Cuz me and U could have been a work of art
Thieves in the temple
Baby, don't U know I'm holding on the best that I can
Love - please help me be the better man
Better than the thieves in the temple, in the temple 2night
Oh, thieves in the temple (2night) 2night
Hurt me

CHORUS (Thieves in the temple) {x4}
U said U loved me!
U said I was your baby!
U was supposed 2 take care of me! (Love - come quick)
U lied! (Love - come in a hurry)
Lied! Lied!
Thieves in the temple 2night
Lied!

"Thieves in the Temple" is a song by Prince from the 1990 soundtrack album, Graffiti Bridge. Added at the last minute, it was the final song recorded for the album. "Thieves in the Temple" topped the U.S. R&B chart and became a number six hit in the U.S., and a number seven hit in the UK. The single also peaked at number 9 on the dance charts. The track has a unique sound, starting quietly with echoed keyboards and vocals before the main section of the song booms in with a pulsating synth bass, syncopated drum machines, Middle Eastern melodies and opera-like layered vocals. Prince also samples a harmonica solo from a recording by The Chambers Brothers. The vocals are emotional, and accuse the subject of rejecting Prince and lying to him. The "temple" in the title recalls the ever-present spirituality in many of Prince's songs. The maxi-single contains extended lyrics that continue the theme before diverging into more dance-oriented material.

I love the music and the look. I've always thought that he made a big mistake with the movie. Instead of portraying himself as the great rock star that he is. His character was a brooding baby in a deep depression. He also continued with the huge mistake of not touring the US. No US tours for SOTT, Nude, D&P, Act I helped seal his fate as a "washed up singer" to the masses in the US. His live performances and his rock star aura are his best attributes as a performer. Unfortunately the Graffiti Bridge era/movie muted both of those attributes.

My favorite jams on the CD are tick Tick Bang and Still Would Stand All Time. Favorite B-side is Love Left, Love Right. Great tune!!!

I dunno, IMO out of the 3 related eras (Lovesexy, Batman, and GB) Lovesexy was the wildest looking, Batman (with the possible exception of Gemini) the most styled, while GB managed to hit right in the middle of the two extremes style-wise.

the GB look was a bit too clean for me, similar 2 Diamonds & Pearls clean Prince

I wouldn't say Batman was 'styled' it was simple, and there wasn't much to go by as far as clothing. It wasn't an era like Lovesexy or Graffiti Bridge. The Gemini character was just for the video.

But I agree w u that GB over all would fit inbetween Lovesexy & Batman

But when I say styled I mean there was something 'neat & clean' about the look especially his face and hair

What a shame. This album is pretty stellar. If it had been released in 1989 as opposed to 1990, he would've closed the decade with 10 perfect albums. Fucking Batman. sick

No. God no. The non-Prince tracks on here are mostly terrible.
