Oh, and you do know it was a desperate attempt to prevent his pathetic concert series from becoming a complete failure.

Did you watch the video? Read any of the posts discussing how it was planned? Are you aware that the show are already a huge success? lol

What a coincidence, as I go to reply, 1999 music video comes on TV!

Anyway, I can relate to Sherri's reaction, I've been starstruck before, not the "omg cool a celeb lemme get a pic", I mean the real deal, the full on OMFGIAMREALLYSTANDINGNEXTTOAMEGASTAR type star struck when I met Heath Ledger. It really shuts you down and I couldn't move or speak out of sheer disbelief that I was getting an autograph from a real celebrity. Even that blank eek look she has on her face throughout the interview reminds me of me while he was signing a photo for me, I remember thinking "Wow....he can write....he knows how to use pens....the tattoo he has on his wrist is actually real..." Totally crazy, weird stuff LOL that I look back on and think "WTF?" I was standing with a bunch of people, about 50 or so and every.single.one of us was completely starstruck into utter silence, after an hour or so of chatting normally to lesser "celebs" before he arrived.

So I can only imagine what it must've been like for her to suddenly meet Prince, get tix to his show, get a hug, get his glove then have him say "Sherri, I love you" all in less than 2 minutes. I'm surprised she didn't faint!

Prince looks great and it's always surprising to see him doing publicity like this. Hopefully, it continues, he deserves some crazy screaming fans.

And now the guessing game begins regarding whether he'll play somewhere tonight in the city as a warmup (or maybe tomorrow or this weekend). If anyone finds out any info on a show tonight or this weekend, hit me up.

NYC, BABY!

[Edited 12/9/10 15:50pm]

True, maybe he'll show up on one of the morning/evening talk shows or SNL. Good way to promote this tour.

It's not a tour.

I rarely watch tv at all on a weekday morning and I just happened to flip on The View. My mom DVR's it so I'm familiar enough with the show from visiting her. Imagine my surprise when Prince pops out of nowhere. It's crazy because I might have had that show on at my place 1 or 2 other times... ever. My point here is the chance (destiny?) of this happening, not that I wouldn't watch the show.

As for his visit, Sherri went a bit overboard, Elizabeth was starstruck, Joy played it too cool, and Whoopi (who already knew he was coming) and Barbara behaved appropriately casual. Prince did a pretty good job greeting the ladies, speaking, and answering the questions-- everything up until his attempt to exit.

yes ....just like the 2004 musicology tour was a failure bart...i seem to remember it was the highest grossing tour that year ?...i think the problem he might be having with these shows is that it isnt just prince being billed to appear ?...i dont want to go to a prince concert and maybe only see him play half of it?....the other problem he has is ticket prices....the whole entertainment industry is seeing an almost worldwide downturn due to the credit crunch and its long lasting effects...people simply dont have the spare cash to pay to see a show/concert or whatever.....promoters need a reality check on this...

This is like New York’s version of the UK’s Loose Women? What time does this program go out during the day?

I have to say Prince looked really hot and was being nice.

Don’t know who Sherri is but she was funny, shes clearly a long life fan and not unsurprisingly she scared him off too lol

All the people that are putting her down, what would u do if Prince appeared from nowhere and sat next to u? I can only imagine the madness.

boo

Stop picking on folks... not all women black/white whatever behave in any one way... but yeah, most of us are fools for good looking rich men. Don't act as if you don't already know. tease lol

You are on the mark about the ladies on the view, but looking at the entire scenario, everyone provided a good mix for entertainment purposes. The View always delivers on that if nothing else. God knows the View is not a source for any real news with all the spin those women put on the topics.

I also think Sheri will look back at this as a fond memory, and I bet she apologized back stage if she made him feel uncomfortable.

It's the other way around. As I understand it, UK producers saw the success of "The View" and then copied the format for "Loose Women".

Great video, thank you!

Justin Bieber fans are not going to like this video btw, Bieber plays the drums, guitar and piano and Prince basically told him to start learning an instrument. And get a good teacher lol

Well, I guess Prince didn't mean to be rude, and I don't blame him for being unfamiliar with Justin Bieber, he isn't missing out on much...

Does he really?

I seem to recall his performance behind a piano on a recent awards show left me wondering if he played at all.

He gets up and the part he was "playing" keeps right on going.

I mean, I guess his keyboardist could have been doubling the part. But, it all remains the same...

Odd, no?

Yes, he does play all 3.

I simply do not understand the hate and the claims of no talent towards this kid.

there is no reason for it. I think what is happening is they are forgetting his age. He will never be the next prince but he has the potential to be very popular and very successful for a very long time.

Sherri is supposed to be a celebrity herself. rolleyes

I agree that it's not out of the ordinary for HER... I just posted a couple of examples.

Me too I wouldn’t be like that either, but everyone is different and reacts differently. Shes obviously was in shock and in awe of him being there and turning up out of the blue. I bet shes really embarrassed about it afterwards, but it was harmless fun and quite funny watching her melt in front of him on TV lol

But I should know better any female that goes near Prince gets put down anyway, that seems to be mandatory on here and is nothing new shrug
