And FYI, IN MY OPINION, 'I wanna melt with you' is the worst song on the album and one of the weakest Prince has ever released.
I agree. I remember listening to for the first time and hating every second of "I Wanna Melt With U". Sadly, I was a few months away from my first CD player, so I was forced to listen to it! Traumatic, I tell you. [Edited 11/6/10 8:13am] |

Joe, if only you had a brain, you'd realize I'm far from being a troll and I'm a real Prince fan, not an asslicker.
And to think that Prince butchered the original album destroying the -in any case stupid- story just to insert this shameful throwaway... |

This is a great dance song...agreed, one of his best.
It's maybe a few beats too slow for modern tastes but still great. |

Since you feel free to call me 'silly ' (I can't be defined as a '2001-2003 fan') I can only call you IDIOT.
Had you rephrased your question as 'I think that...' or 'In my opinion...' it could be worth debating, but the title of this thread just shows how idiot you are and how desperate you are for attention.
who the hell gives a fock about how you think we should write, and who the fock gives a damn about what you think of me/us orgers? you're known for being a troll who stopped being a fan almost seven years ago and who just like to write insulting, silly, bitter, negative, pathetic, short posts
I love this thread: it's mad, people dance to it, trolls show their ugly head exposing themselves and the mods are confused!!
yeah! do that baby
yeah! do that baby
yeah! do that baby
Come on, let's be civil! Lots and lots of people won't agree with you. Please accept it and don't call those people names, even if they decide to do so.

Not so easy to dance to.
I reckon that if you stuck on "Erotic...." and "Melt in any club, the latter would get more people on the floor. |

You must be young. That song was played every night at least once (normally 2 or 3 times) at almost any dance club I went to from 1984 through 1994. The floor would fill up with people getting their groove on. I never heard melt at a club. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |

I would be a very young granpa!
Just to get the idea across on how popular that dance tune was is to equate it to Usher's "Yeah." Because Usher's "Yeah" always fills up the dance floor. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment |

It was filmed in the Erotic City room at Glam Slam in Minneapolis, Oct 3, 1992. Strippers were hired from local strip clubs to dance nude. There were some naked chicks walking a couple dogs through the club. Tony M commented that we were all going to hell for this! Randee St. Nicholas directed. The extras were used to be the "dance crowd" in the club, and some were given masks to wear. I did find it odd that the music being played during the filming wasn't I Wanna Melt With U. I'm not sure where the portion of Prince roller skating was done, but it wasn't done that night. Prince was there mainly "observing".

did he ever do this live, beyond the "the ryde divine" special i've never come across a live
version of the song.
but that "ryde divine" live performance is kick ass. LOVE the guitar solo in that one
It was done on the Act I tour and cut from the Act II tour, as were many of the songs off of . I love the Ryde Divine version that ends with the 3 Chains O' Gold guitar solo. I was there for that shoot too. TRUE BLUE |

i'm with u joe, there's a pump to this song that you have to dip into to feel it.
the rhythm sits below the abyss, in the slippery caves of 'muah ah ah ah ah'. this too shall pass |
