What would you tell the DJ to Play?!

If you could request ANY Prince song in the club nowadays, which one would you really want to rock out to?

AND which Non-hit song would you want to introduce to the masses who just don't know!?

Pesonally, I choose No more candy 4 U

I'd also like to re-introduce a younger generation to Electric Chair...

cool

How'm I gonna fill this empty room...

As a DJ myself.. I Usually stay away from Prince's music.. In fact 1/2 or More of anything i play, I really don't like.. Reading a crowd and pleasing the masses, is MUCH MUCH differerent then the music u would play in your living room! I always try to Promo Prince's new material which where I live, gets So many eye rolls and I Think it has a Lot to do with my crowd Knowing I'm a Prince fan, etc. He's a TOUGH guy to pass on to a Party crowd.. As far as 'introducing' Prince or 'converting' people into Prince fans.. it will NEVER happen.. just be Glad u are a fan, that u Enjoy his music.. and BE selfish wink That I think is the greatest JOY of being a Dj and a Prince fan.. I can make people happy all night long, playing stupid shit..but "I" get to go home and hear the FONKIEST, kick ass, MIND BLOWING purple funk, that NO one at my shows will ever understand! It's best that way.

Exactly! It's very hard 2 please a crowd with Prince.
As a DJ, I'm happy if my public is happy. That absolutely includes playing crap lol

Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

The same one that blew up the club when it came out - Erotic City.

Yes.

Then I'd ask for it to be followed by The Glamorous Life. The dance floor would be packed with queens and their gals.

I feel you on that. I get that as a DJ there is the "crowd pleasing" aspect of the craft, I took over my Dad's DJ business. But hypothetically, if you lived in a party dream world, which one would you just LOVE to get everyone in the club partyin to! I always feel sad that I wasn't old enough to party when most of his popular hits came out, so I always fantasize... razz

I guess it depends on what kind of club you're at...but I personally love hearing songs like Hot Thing, Sign O The Times, Fury, No More Candy 4 U, Laydown, Lolita, and Kiss when I'm at a club!!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol
